Game Thread: IU vs FGCU - 11/7 @ 6:30 on BTN

I disagree. He was staying in front of his man when we were making our run. Gunn and Walker were getting worked over and over. Cupps MUST play. -

Yes. His mere presence impacts winning. We found ‘the lineup’. -

This is the lineup I like. Cupps, X, Gallo, Ware, Reneau. -

Walker and Gunn are just getting worked. Give me some Anthony Leal. -

It’s the 1st half of game one so I don’t want to overreact but most of what I heard in the off-season were questions about Ware and his effort level and motor. He has looked great. Super active on both ends. Really impressed with him. It’s Mack that’s not bringing it and I don’t see the skill level to make up for it. He’s not Romeo cool. Yes, this is his first game so need to see more, but so far I don’t see it. Also, really need more from the Banks/Gunn combo. I liked Banks last year so less concerned about him but not sure Gunn sees the floor if Newton was healthy and he is being counted on. -

This is so sad. Thank you Coach Knight.

If there are any of those types wanting to come to IU I would have to assume they are bringing baggage with them. I know we are in the BIG but still. This program needs a fire starter and some major juice. IF ARE wants this job sign me up.

I should start by pointing out that I don’t know much about football. However, I am somewhat surprised to just the number that are not in the ARE camp. From everything I have read and know about him is that he is a tremendous leader and as the cliche goes ‘he has something to him’. He has that ‘it’ factor and an unbelievable personality. I don’t know many of the other names being mentioned outside of the big ones like Gruden or Meyer. I would much prefer ARE than some coordinator that is 60+ and has no ties to IU. That would be a firm no and experience just because your old is overvalued to me. I can see ARE having a conversation in a recruits living room compared to a 60 something retread and would imagine said recruit and his family coming away completely impressed.

What she said after the game about it was really good stuff. -

That was a tough one but he seems like a class act and can coach. I would be more surprised if they aren’t back next year. -

I believe he is a bench piece. I can’t see him starting. -

Welcome to Indiana. Seems like a great kid. I’m a little skeptical of the fit but I will cheer for him to do well. -

Please just one more portal entry. I don’t want to see any surprises. -
I didn’t. I thought they were role players at best.

I like May but don’t want CMW to leave until he is ready. I have no knowledge just that he doesn’t strike me as someone that wants to keep pounding the recruiting 365 days a year. I picture him more on the golf course with a cigar and a good drink with his buddies than at a hot gym watching AAU games in the summer. Or I could be completely wrong. He is big on winning a banner but how long does he want to chase it? He already has the program in a better place than it has been at in years. -
I don’t think it changed anything. The final little nudge came after he released and as Barkley pointed out postgame he had already missed the shot at that point. Pretty soft contact to blow the whistle there in what was a physical game in my opinion.
-
The defense might be a question which is why I would put him next to X in the backcourt and get a couple wings that are dawgs. He can really fill it up.
-
This board is all over the place on transfer targets. I’m big on Girard and a couple athletic wings that can defend. Don’t know anything about Reeves so don’t know if he is one of those are not. No on Ike.

It was way before my time. I have just seen highlights but I didn’t think Smart was a ‘true’ point guard?
