No way he deserves an apology, he is now 3-21 in his last 24 BIG Ten games? We beat a Wisconsin team with a back up QB and third string RB. -

How did Walt Bell and Tom Allen not clearly see Sorsby as QB1 entering the year? Decisions like this make me question Tom Allen’s judgement more and more. -
Tom Allen 2-21 in his last 23 BIG Ten games. Moral victories are great with that kind of record. On a positive note the Hoosiers moved to 4-4 against the spread this year. Hoosiers are only 5.5 point underdogs vs Wisconsin, maybe Tom will play for the tie again and cover the spread.

I like Fitzgerald, but going 1-8 in the Big Ten West 3 of the last 4 years scares me. Did he lose his fire or what?
-
I wouldn’t mind seeing them hire Art Briles, people will say he has baggage and on the older side(it is working with Mack Brown and UNC). He had a legal victory last week clearing him of negligence. He would bring his son as the OC and he is a proven winner. Briles does not have many opportunities, so he wouldn’t break the bank. Just win baby.

At this point, not firing Tom Allen could cost the athletic program more than firing him. If we wait another year the program will be an even bigger rebuild and will be less attractive. Also, we need a national search which means no Carey promotion or Fuente promotion.

Per Zach Osterman, IUFB is hiring the former VA Tech head coach Justin Fuente for the analyst position that belonged to Carey. He had a good run at Memphis that landed him the VA Tech job, 2 good years at VATech then gradually regressed. Offensive minded coach. -
You know it’s not good when you have to point to women’s basketball. Football and men’s basketball make the money which are the top priorities, our football program is a disaster and we haven’t been to the sweet sixteen in mens basketball since 2016, but great job Dolson on women’s basketball.

Just another bad decision by the IU administration and head coach, Lets start the Fire Scott Dolson Thread -
How many more games until Tom Allen gets fired? Does he make it to the Purdue game?

Hopefully the additional compensation for Carey is coming out of Tom Allen’s salary -
The reason we couldn’t hire a good OC was that Tom was making them keep Darren Hiller as the oline coach and by that point, coaches started to see Tom Allen was in over his head and was getting exposed as a coach. No promising young coaches want to join a sinking ship. If we are willing to pay $5M along with a good staff budget, IU should be able to find someone. Also, it sounds like Indiana will invest in Memorial Stadium renovations and a new weight room/football facilities. The administration should be able to sell a $5M salary, continued renovations, conference stability, and point to that if you build the program correctly you can win at Indiana(Kevin Wilson/Tom Allen success) Also, the Big Ten media money increases soon and Indiana’s coach will have advantages coaches in the Big 12 and ACC do not have.

Time for a contract extension after that big win. #LEO

The Hoosiers are 2-10 in the last 12 games, at this point everyone can see Tom Allen is not the answer. The reasons for the 2 year success(2019-2020) period were on display yesterday Deboer and Penix destroying Michigan State on the road and Kane Wommack and his South Alabama Jaguars beating Oklahoma State 33-7 on the road. When will the administration be ok with moving on and how big of buyout are they willing to pay? Will they invest in the next coaching hire with a real search? If not, we might as well save the buyout money because it will be more of the same with a new coach.
-
When does IU move on from Tom Allen? After this year with a $20M buyout or after the 2024 with an $8M buyout? If IU moves on, will we go after a proven coach in the ACC or Big 12 with all the uncertainty regarding conference realignment? Or will it be more of the same MAC level coaches?
-
Tom Allen to Northwestern? A high character coach like him would be perfect for them right now.
-
Take the money they are trying to spend on buying out games and spend it on Tom Allen’s buyout, then actually invest in a coach and an assistant coaching staff. Buying out games for us to loose to another power 5 or AAC school is a bad idea.(per big ten rules we need a Power 5 or AAC school on the schedule)
