  With Indiana basketball there is always going to be heat and lofty (and sometimes unrealistic) expectations. But you know what? I wouldn't want it any other way. With expectations comes relevance. If no one cared, the program wouldn't nearly be as much fun to cover. I get your desire to vent and a lot of times I'll probably agree with you. And sometimes I won't. But again, that's what makes this fun. I look forward to commenting on this upcoming season right along with you.

  No interest in posting on any other site. And with as active as this message board community clearly is why would anyone want to be some place else? That's my take any way.

Just for the record as of Midnight Friday night, I had received eight inquiries from people wanting to write or contribute. A handful of them sound pretty impressive, too. Just thought I'd give you all an update on where we are so far. Having some extra people who can fill in some of the blanks will really help our content side and also give me more freedom to do more analysis kind of columns which ideally is what I would like to do.   A good first day for sure.

  I've been thinking about writing an IU picture book, too, to tell you the truth. It would be for ages 8 and under though. There's a Purdue joke here somewhere but I'll let is pass for now.

  And now you'll be able to get my books in the Btownbanners store at a significantly reduced rate for btownbanners members. I've written five books to date, but I have two new titles (both on IU basketball) that will be out this fall.

  I would definitely like to find a way to analyze a play or a set like I know Alex Bozich does from time to time at Inside the Hall. I like visual stuff. I'd like to find a way to use more video, too.

  Absolutely. I at least get credentialed for football and basketball. Not sure beyond that. But that was a part of what I needed in order to do this gig was to get confirmation from IU that they would credential me. When they said they would, I was on board.

  What would you like to see besides writing?   Let me know and I'll see what we can do.

  They love me over there any way. They'll never let me forget that I once said when Robbie Hummel came out of high school that I didn't think he'd be more than a role player at Purdue. I later tried to tell them that his role was to be the Big Ten player of the year but somehow they never let me live that one down. 

  The door is always open. If there's one thing I enjoy doing, it's talking all things IU athletics.

  I was 6-5 back in my playing days but unfortunately I've settled. 6-4 1/2 is going to have to do.
