I was encouraged that even though it was a scrimmage, guys were playing defense.

Yeah, if there was one takeaway I came with it wasn’t ’Ballo clogged it up’. Offensively he looked better than I saw from him at Arizona.

Because I'm that guy, here are the stats I totaled for the scrimmage. Will need to hit threes at a better rate but was good to see us at least shooting them more. I don’t view it that way. The money from the revenue share is dwarfed by the television deals…..the haves are still going to outbid the have nots. And the talented mid and low major players transfers to high majors will likely increase because the revenue sharing plan can be opted in or out by schools…low and mid majors will opt out because it’s not financially feasible.

Just like I understand why opposing fans hated Knight, I understand why opposing fans hate Hurley. in terms of how people treat you when they want something from you….anybody can be welcoming in those circumstances. The true measure is how they treat people who aren’t going to affect them. I’m not going to give kudos for a coach being accommodating to parents of recruits. That’s a pretty low bar.

I have mental health issues myself, and the on court behavior and off court behavior are separate things. He does fall into the 'thinks his **** doesn't stink' when he's on the court. He may hate himself off the court, but no one is a bigger Hurley the coach than Hurley..

I totally believe that Chris007 has good information that Mullins is planning on picking U Conn. I just believe that 11 days prior to a decision can be an eternity.

Anyone know what the tiebreaker is in the Big Ten for the Big Ten championship game? It was head to head as the first tiebreaker before which I assume is still true, but with the current setup there is a pretty good chance that tiebreaker isn't usable.

Considering they've been playing in the PAC 12, when was the last time they beat #2 at home? Let college kids be college kids.

I'm most curious to see the breakdown in playing time for each player. On paper, this is by far the deepest team that Woodson has had.

There is probably a reason that Woodson's pitch is resonating more with players in the transfer portal as opposed to 17/18 year high school seniors. Portal transfers have been around the block and are probably more likely to view this as a business while 17/18 year old kids are more into the 'love' that they are receiving. Just my opinion, but it's more likely that the 'you aren't ready for the league and here is what you need to improve on' approach works better for players that have been around the block as opposed to high schoolers. I do remember that TJD said he returned to IU because Woodson told him things that he didn't want to hear but needed to.

So exactly what are you using to pick and choose to believe? Because it seems that you are choosing to believe what you already believe. Personally, while I don't believe the recruitment of Mullins is a done deal to U Conn, I certainly believe people when they mention what they have heard regardless of it doesn't fit my narrative.

If Mullins is able to go to the NBA after one year, his value to U Conn would roughly be what Essegian's was to Wisconsin. Love to have Mullins. If we don't get him, move on and find the next option regardless of whether it's recruit or portal. I'm kind of done worrying about wanting to root for players that come in as freshman and play for four years at a school. It's rare now. I forget what percent of freshman enter the portal after one season, but it was a pretty significant percentage.

I rarely say anything with 100% certainly, but I will say that there is no way Luke Goode gets another year of eligibility. I don't think there has ever been a player who played in the second half of the season get an extra year. He played in the second half AND was slightly over the number of games he could have played in. He's not getting granted a year.

I just don't see it. IMO we were never in the lead for Moreno and it's not like kids don't see players they have played with committing elsewhere. If it were that, why were Mullins' eyes opened up to that and Sisley's not? By and large, kids make decisions based on their own self interests, which they should. If Mullins commits to U Conn (or Indiana), it's because he feels that is the best move for himself.

I think you are reading into things way too much. I think anyone who thought they were ever a package deal was off base.

The coaching change at U Conn can always happen, particularly if the Lakers lay an egg again and up the ante.

I'm sure that Tucker will be back -- I even think dad indicated that he wasn't necessarily looking to be a one and done. Don't see him starting this year over what we have coming back and what was brought in. In today's NIL world, guys on the fence are more likely to return to school than ever because sometimes the money is the same and often better in returning. Hunter Dickinson is about to play his fifth year. He'll turn 24 in November. He probably would have been a guy who played two or three years in college before and then turned pro, even if he were to be a second round pick. NBA scouts haven't changed their minds on him -- he is what he is, a big who isn't fast but has a nice touch. He didn't stay in school to increase his stock because nothing has changed in the way he plays. He stayed because the money was better.
