2024-25 Prediction League - Game 3 vs South Carolina Sat 11/16/24 3pm Peacock

IU 78, So Carolina 70 -
So basically Adam Howard isn’t on the staff anymore and everyone’s opinion on Woodson is what it was before Howard left. ultimately, I think Woodson’s fate is going to come down to the result’s of this year’s team. Everything else is just noise.

Reneau, Ballo, and Hatton played 58 combined minutes. That would mean that there was 22 minutes where MM or someone else was playing the 4. That would be a positive in that we are seeing multiple looks including a smaller quicker lineup. That also aligns with the first game where they combined for 59 minutes. -
North Florida maybe a candidate for this year's Florida Atlantic? 3-0 now with road wins at South Carolina and Georgia Tech. Will also play road games at Georgia, Nebraska, and Florida.

Will Berg is.....not good. I know that Painter loves to play his seven footers but if Caleb Furst can't start now, I have no idea why he stayed there four years. Might be worth mentioning that Will Berg has now played in 66 minutes of college ball and at 7'2", he hasn't blocked a single shot.

Nobody played more than 27 minutes so it's not like anyone got overly taxed. -

The only thing you can do after a brutal first half is to correct it in the second half. -

That's not something you would know until the end of the season. You just want to be in some general spread where you envision it being what a tournament team would be. -

The truth before our eyes is that with Carlyle's lack of shooting, we are a better team with Galloway on the floor. -
I would more likely say he gets a pass from a contingent of those pulling the strings and providing $ because he's a former player. I wouldn't say fans in general do not or there would be a 23000 post thread here. Bottom line is he doesn't do himself any favors with the way he has treated the media who have asked fair questions of him but statements about him 'not needing to answer them'. His self-actualization is lacking. Last year certainly would have gotten more of a break from fans if he was someone that they personally liked.

Tom Allen loved Indiana University.

Please cite examples. I'm not sure why we are debating whether players that have played for him haven't liked him in general. There are lots of things to fault him for, not sure why people want to choose that hill to die on. -
NCAA must have given him a second redshirt year on top of the 2021-22 free Covid year. 2018-19: redshirt 2019-2O IU 2020-21 IU 2021-22 Xavier 2022-23 Xavier 2023-24 missed the full year (believe the same health concerns he had as a freshman)…NCAA must have given him a second redshirt 2024-25 Xavier He turns 25 in December.

You do realize that there are coaches that isn't the case for every coach. By all accounts, Woodson is true to his word to players coming into the program. That is important to players. I haven't really heard him air team business to the press nor call a player out to the media. There are plenty of things that you can be critical of him about, but there are a lot of snake salesman out there that will lie to kids to get them into the program and you will hear grumblings in the background while they are with the team and then when they leave you will hear the complaints. You can argue about team construction and style of play that he's put out, but he has treated players fairly. -
Georgetown's home opener against Lehigh drew 2,0008 fans.....and we know schools often inflate those numbers. Even DePaul drew 3000 fans for their opener.

It wasn't a one off thing -- I believe he had liked a post/tweet last spring about Woodson not paying enough attention to recruits during last year's sectional. That obviously didn't stop IU recruiting him. I'm just saying that didn't stop IU from recruiting him. Can interfering parents effect the team? Sure. Logan Duncomb grandmother and CJ Gunn's father (I believe) seem to do talking on social media/in the background when their kids weren't playing. It probably does hurt more if it's a parent whose kid is an integral part of the team. I think Bronny being at USC hurt them last year. -

Well, I don't think his parents would've needed access to a private jet if he played in Bloomington. Anywho, there are two players in college basketball: players who play at IU and players who don't. Focus on the ones at IU and wish the others well unless they are playing IU. I would say that parents asking that their 18 year highly talented kid gets a ton of compensation (maybe more than they are worth) is the norm and not the exception. Ke'lel Wares are always going to be out there -- kids who asked and got the world (at Oregon) and it didn't pan out and they move on. -
He played with too wide of a base --- dribbled way away from his body and stance was way too wide to move successfully. It's something that Troy Williams did as a freshman, but Williams was more talented and stance got better as he got older.

Logan Duncomb left IU after the 22-23 season and transferred to Xavier. In October of 2023 he stated he was stepping away from basketball to focus on his physical and mental health. He appears on Winthrop's roster now but did not play in their opener.

Yeah, there are fair shots and there are unfair shots. DD is the master of unfair shots. It's why he isn't on ESPN anymore.
