Juwan Morgan RETURNING For Senior Season

BTW, if he did in fact sign a lease that is more of indication that he intends to come back....not that he intends to leave. When you hear 'he signed a lease', which is the more logical narrative? A. He intends to play at IU next year but wants to know what he needs to work on and puts his name in the draft or B. He wasn't going to put his name in, and despite not being 'in NBA team's top 100', he started hearing from teams that he was a draftable player and could make a roster. I'm going with option A.

Juwan Morgan RETURNING For Senior Season

The lease 'issue' is just silly. In a college town like Bloomington, all attractive housing opportunities are going to get picked up. And the assumption that signing a lease meant that Morgan wasn't ever going to get his talent evaluated after the season is simply a false narrative. What's more likely is that there was an actual discussion between Morgan and the landlord of his intentions -- that he was going to put his name in the draft to see what he worked on but most likely return to school. A landlord renting to a junior basketball player in the town of Bloomington isn't oblivious. There is no way that this would end up with Morgan signing a lease, turning pro, and then paying a year's rent for an apartment he ends up never living in.

Juwan Morgan RETURNING For Senior Season

Glass half full: he's told that and works on hard in the offseason and improves on the shot. One thing that I am a little concerned with is when Davis comes back how he and Morgan co-exist offensively. IMO, we were underwhelming last year when they were on the court at the same time.

I live about five minutes from where Dakich attended high school. The amount of people around here that think he's a d-bag is incredible.

Juwan Morgan RETURNING For Senior Season

For the record, 63 players got invited to the NBA combine last year and there were 5 alternates. But we are to believe that he isn't in the people's top 100 but could possibly get an combine invite based on his play in the next......zero games?

LOL at the 'he is being marketed' line.

Juwan Morgan RETURNING For Senior Season

So, Juwan 'isnt in the top 100 by NBA' scouts....Dan Dakich talks out of @$$, but not this time!....no mocks have him in the draft because, well, there aren't many 6'7" power forwards in the NBA..... Believe me, with every inside information that gets out on the internet today, something as innocuous as 'some NBA draft scouts think Juwan Morgan might get a combine invite' seems like something that people wouldn't exactly trying to keep a secret. I'mma calling BS.

    QB Brandon Dawkins to IU

College QB ratings don't take into account rushing. It's all based on passing stats. Dawkins ran for 944 yards as a junior....and you have to keep in mind that college rushing stats count sacks as negative rushing plays, so in reality he probably ran for close to 1200 that year. Remember that Ramsey is a pretty good rusher, but even getting more than half the reps last year his rushing total for the season was only 226 yards due to sack yardage counted as negative rushing yards. I wouldn't be too discouraged by Dawkins losing his starting job last year.....he lost it to Khalil Tate who is a pretty darn dual threat college quarterback.

(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

The NCAA has been told by the FBI that they are not to do any investigation until the FBI one is done. So the thing is that the FBI will have already produced facts prior to the NCAA going into it.....which means that it's going to be hard for them to hide their heads in the sand like they did with UNC.

You are giving the NCAA too much credit. It's the FBI who busted the adidas schools. NCAA didn't do anything.

The probe isn't done. And it's not going to be as easy for the NCAA to sweep it under the rug since the FBI is involved.

Robert Johnson was no better this year than he was a junior....when he was our fourth best player. The loss of him will have everything to do with who steps up and can shoot the ball and little to do with him. We'd miss Blackmon tremendously this year not because of his overall game but rather his ability to shoot from deep....especially the fact that he could do so when guarded. RoJo wasn't that type of player offensively -- he needed space.

    Online college basketball simulation

After two putrid seasons and after starting the year off 2-6, my Wilmington Warlords have ran off six straight wins. My team is young as well...my top two scorers are a freshman averaging 18 points per game and a sophomore averaging 16. I’ve kind of settled in on the top of players I can get in recruiting — my big men I look for rebounding, size, and defense and ignore the scoring.....those guys stdn’t Coming to Wilmington.

It's also worth mentioning that they are 7-12 and three of their four double figure scorers are seniors. The other is a point guard. They certainly would be bringing in three studs if Romeo commits, but there is going to be nothing much around them. Not sure three freshman studs and nothing else amounts to much.

True....but Vanderbilt is 7-12 and in last place in the SEC. If he is waiting for a reason not to go to Vandy, it's right in front of him.

Iu vs michigan st 1/19/18 game thread fs1

There wasn't anyone watching Moore late in his senior high school season that thought we wouldn't want him. Anyone saying different is being revisionist. Check his draftexpress profile from last April. http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Clifton-Moore-109337/

I'll take four years of Race Thompson over a one year-grad transfer big that would have been just a rotation guy on a team headed nowhere.
  20. Hansborough averaged 20 points and 9 rebounds over his college career. Morgan is very much a poor man's Hansborough.

    IUBB vs Fort Wayne - 12/18 @ 8:00 E.T.

Thing Forde forgets is IU fans pretty much gave Crean a pass for his first three seasons. If we lose our next 19 games, our record will match what Crean had his first season. Sure, the circumstances were different....but let's not act like Crean wasn't given a chance. He had nine years here and only had winning seasons in the Big Ten once. He did have two Big Ten champsionships....and promptly didn't make the tournament the next year in both. Forde tweeted that he was stunned last year when Crean was fired. So the guy is just full of it.....in one breath he's talking about how IU fans didn't want Crean, and then in the next he's talking about how shocked he was that he got canned.

    IUBB vs Fort Wayne - 12/18 @ 8:00 E.T.

This is one thing I'll say: those people who blamed Blackmon for our lack of defense really didn't want to look very deep. Most of the guys Crean went after weren't known for their defense. And if you don't think we miss Blackmon, you're nuts. We most certinally need his shooting and it's not like his defense was any worse than we've seen on the floor in several of our games. I do think people truly overestimated what we were going to put on the court this year -- didn't matter who the coach was. You don't lose the talent we had the last two years and have a couple of mediocre recruiting classes and expect to miss a beat. My concern is that we could lose some of the guys we did keep that are young and are seeing the veterans out there floundering and still can't get on the court. Clifton Moore is a mirage at this point. Justin Smith barely makes an appearance. I'm truly not a big Josh Newkirk detractor, but if I were a freshman seeing him play as a senior I'd have to scratch my head as to what he has done to deserve minutes that shouldn't be going to younger guys. I don't think much of Curtis Jones' game, but I understand why he left.

    Three Year Rebuild?

If we don't get Romeo, we miss out on a terrific player.....for one season. I mean, I love Eric Gordon and all, but it's not like he changed the landscape of Indiana basketball. And when Crean did get this program to the #1 ranking, it wasn't on any one and dones.

    Allen was the correct choice

I get that. But while the schedule in the Big Ten is going to be tough due to the division imbalance, we do play pretty much of a joke non-conference schedule every year (the Virginia win this year turned out to be a good one, but we didn't schedule them thinking we'd be playing a bowl worthy team). So most years -- if we are truly bowl worthy -- we are looking at needing to go 3-6 in the Big Ten to be bowl eligible. It's really not asking that much. My problem is that I simply don't think we went through the right protocol in hiring Allen. If he was the best candidate for the job, fine....but I don't think we ever tried to determine that. We simply went the route of taking the best in-house candidate as we were trying to keep recruits on board. IMO that's short term instead of long term strategy.
