The longer IU is from Knight's era, the less people will listen to him.
-
In terms of him 'different off air than on air', I would disagree with that. I live in the area he grew up in. He implies on air that he's really loved up here when the opposite is the case. The take of him being an entitled arrogant tool isn't just a take of people who hear him on air. This is the bottom line: good analysts know that they aren't the show. He does a very poor job of adapting his radio show personality to one of a television game commentary.

So some concerns I’m having...

Food for thought.....we have actually shot a higher free throw percentage the of opponents (64 to 61). Both numbers are going to go up. -
Thoughts on Crean after one and one-third years of Archie?

I will say this: I 100% believe he cheated before he went to UK....but think sconce he's been at UK he hasn't. Used rules to his advantage, such as perks of the 'basketball dorm'? Sure. But thr NCAA allows it. -

In the position that Sampson left this program, I'm really not sure what people really think we were going to bring in. We brought in a coach who recruited pretty well but didn't coach very well. Not sure we were going to entice someone who did both well at that point. -
I don't think any non-IU fan agrees with your assessment of the talent. BTW, the media has a pretty high opinion of Miller....and they have us picked in the middle of the pack of the Big Ten. For the record, with Hunter and Thompson's injuries, we have two top 100 247 players in the last two recruiting classes that are currently playing on this team. And don't think that injuries haven't effected this team's play.

My biggest concern is a fan base overreacting to Miller because of things that happened prior to when he was here. -
I didn't think that I could Minnesota's stupid raised floor more than I previously did. Then they made the floor look like it was pale wood and removed the out of bounds colors.

ALLEN thinking of turning over defensive coordinator duties to someone else.

With all due respect, Tom Crean had a couple of conference titles. Tom Allen is 0 for 2 in just making a bowl games, 0 for 1 in winning bowl games (after Wilson was fired), 0 for 2 head to head against Purdue. Honestly, what is Tom Allen's biggest accomplishment at IU? -
Indiana vs Penn State Post Game Thread

Despite their record, KenPom has Penn State ranked as the #37 team in the nation. Winning on the road there is a good thing. -
IUBB vs Northwestern - 12/1 @ 1:00 ET

Don't know the concussion test that IU uses, but my son plays tennis at an IU extension and I can tell you that the baseline test that he had to pass was a new one and that every athlete had to pass it at the beginning of the year and any time there was suspicion of a concussion. Multiple non-concussed athletes fail exit and had to take it multiple times. Took my Don three times before he did. The concussion tests today are going to produce more false pisitives than negatives in the name of safety. -
He scored it 115-111 Wilder which meant if he had given Wilder just two of the first four rounds it would have been 113-113....which would have still made the fight a draw (majority draw as two judges would have had it a draw).

Didn't get the KO but dropping him in the 12th was enough to get the draw.

Yeah, they were definitely icing down the front of his leg well below his knee. I'm not a doctor (although I did sleep at a Holiday Inn last night), but I don't imagine that it's going to be a long term injury. -
After 6 games, KenPom has this team ranked 29th nationally in adjusted defense. Too often people confuse results with effort and assume that lack of results = lack of effort. It's not that simple. And I keep reading that IU's defense wasn't there 'for thirty minutes'. Truthfully, the results started well before the thirty minute mark....UC Davis had 48 points at the 15:50 mark...they then went over 4 minutes before they scored again and only scored 14 points over the last 15:50, a period in which IU outscored UC Davis 36-14.

Just like we do in our everyday life, fan base's tend to read too much into their own narratives. You can't simply write something off as being 100% 'lack of effort' or 100% 'lack of confidence'. It's all shades and mixtures.

Tired of the "Duke is going to destroy us" posts. That's pretty much true regardless of how we were playing. We are going to have a lot of company in the group if teams Duke beat easily.....and there are going to be dome pretty good teams in that group.

It was a bad performance that ended up as a 14 point win against a bad team. On to the next one.

A naked Race? Sounds like something done between drunk frat brothers.

Cool. Just would feel better with names. There is no doubt that Hunter isn't healthy. Saying we are 'almost fully healthy' IMO is saying that we would getting back multiple players of the seven for next game and then within a week the rest (sans Hunter). Little blurbs I've seen from the Indy Star would make it most likely that Romeo and Al are the most likely to play tonight and that De'ron not playing against UTA was mostly a precautionary thing. Sure, we don't need to rush players back given our opponent tonight (knock on wood), but for player and team development we do need to start getting these guys on the court.
-
Maybe I'm missing the mark here....but I have no idea who Sam Story is. All I found was that he had made a total of 48 tweets and went to IU. I haven't found any solid reports of player's health and I know IU plays that close to the vest.

IUBB vs UT Arlington - Tues., 11/20 @ 7:00 ET

+1. Fail to see any logic in 'running a team until midnight' that had a five man rotation at the end of the game. But I'm sure fans that suggested running the healthy players we have until they drop would be real forgiving if they came back and lost their next game on tired legs. -

It was a fast break play, our medical staff was with him and our coaches were giving instructions to our players in a game that was still in the balance. That's what I observed. -
IUBB @ Arkansas - 11/18 @ 3:30 ET
RaceToTheTop replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
It's a losing proposition to have to be 10 points better on the road in order to win road games. I'm just tired of the state of college officiating.....and I get that we get the same home cooking at Assembly Hall. Just tired of venue determining outcome. -

Not going to say that refs were a factor.....but am going to say that in the last 8 minutes of the game, Arkansas was whistled for no fouls. IU had 5.
