Yeah, I get that Texas played a tough non-con schedule...but they likely will finish 16-16. If you use Lunardi’s logic, a loss to Texas would move them from bye to last four in. Even an upset win over Kansas and a loss in the next round leaves them 17-16....meanwhile we had a talking head on national TV saying IU shouldn’t be in because of their record but dudn’t Mention Alabama, Florida, or Texas — teams with our record or worse.

The SEC love I'm not getting. Don't see Alabama getting in.

Some schools do it. Kansas did it for a freshman who was being a one and done. Be kind of weird, though, if a player did it and then after getting draft advice came back to school. -

Vividseats. Just got the evening game tickets. Got upper level since IU plays in the morning session. Two tickets for a total of $38. So $115 bucks for two tickets to all four games with two games being on the floor. And $50 of the $115 was for overnight delivery (they didn't have an online ticket print option). -

With IU up 66-46, I went ahead and ordered Big Ten tickets for the Thursday morning games. I'll get the tickets way in advance ever again...waiting until the week of the game sees the price drop way out. I'm paying under $80 total (including overnight delivery and service charge) for two 13th row seats on the floor. -

I think part of the reason the pop isn't there is him playing at Lalumiere instead of the IHSAA. -

We've only won two true road games all year and am guessing that we will be a road dog by Vegas. Not sure that's a trap game....that's at best it's a toss up game. -

Brandon Newman's Valparaiso team gets upset by Chesterton 35-30 in the sectional final. Newman held to 8 points and Valpo lead only once, midway in the second quarter. I can not stress enough how much Valpo underachieved this year. Newman is really, really good and has decent talent around him. The job the coach did in putting a cohesive plan together was not there. He seemed intent on putting a game plan out on just having Newman in iso. -

Yep. When you say 'act like you've been there before' you have to remember that the kids rushing the court HAVEN'T been there before. -

I think he lets his pocketbook get in the way. Bring neutral doesn't get you listeners on the radio. I do blame ESPN for constantly putting him on IU games. -

He literally makes every IU game about his experience there. Just like TV Teddy, sometimes you have to realize you aren't the show. Nobody decides to watch a basketball game because of who is announcing it. A good television guy keeps an extra few around who would have turned the game off when it isn't close. A bad television guy is one that people are still talking about the next day. -

Our ceiling is higher with Green. Also means when he plays like he Dick yesterday our floor is lower. But when you have lost 11 of 12, you sometimes have to take the risk. The fact also is we have four guards on the roster and we start three. Even if he hurts us sometimes, we need the depth. -

Just going to enjoy it the win. We haven't had many against Wisky in the past decade. Certainly enjoy any game where Brad Davison plays that bad. As much as I don't like the love Happ gets from refs, he's been a hell of a player. -
Don't know if this has been posted already... For anybody that still thinks Dakich 'is just saying the truth'.....here is a tweet of thirteens seconds of him 'announcing' during the Kentucky/Tennessee game today. https://twitter.com/marcum89/status/1091862164367966209 So dead in the middle of an SEC game he randomly attacks Indiana basketball once again. This isn't about him 'telling the truth'. This is about him griding an axe. Personally, I'm sick of it and I can't understand why ESPN puts up with his egotistical @$$.
-
I think he has two iden-titties. The one who makes great one on one plays and the one who makes you scratch your head.
-
I've never seen someone his fall over so easily. I don't blame him for doing it if he gets the call. It's an officiating issue.

Dan Dakich during Flor/Kent game
RaceToTheTop replied to RaceToTheTop's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I started the thread and haven't posted in it for awhile. The last thing I will say is that while talking about IU during an SEC game might not gave been random if it was proceeded by a promo, putting one of the two teams down is both random and unnecessary. As a television announcer, part of his job is to get people interested in watching the network. You don't do that with the implication that one of the teams in an upcoming game has a 'bad approach'. Click baiting for your own radio show isn't a good reason to imply to viewers that an upcoming game on the TV network you are on isn't going to be worth watching. He simply doesn't do a credible job of separating his jobs. -
I thought coming in we had like a 1% chance to win. And if you told me Morgan would exit in first half, that would have been a stretch. 20 offensive rebounds was huge.

If he wants to do that on his show, so be it. I don't listen. But I don't want to watch IU on TV trying to put it up with it, which is what I typically get when IU is on ESPN.
