Yes, from a production standpoint it's not close in that group. Sluka will end up being a starter somewhere but he's kind of a guy you would have to tailor your offense completely to and hope that his play transferred well. The Virginia quarterback is...a little (emphasis on a little) because he did start for two years and his first start his freshman year was against Cignetti's James Madison team and he completed 20 of 26 for 377 yards in a 36-35 loss. But he's really small -- like 6', 185.

List of current QBs in the portal and their QB transfer ranking on 247 (listing stats for those that played): 3. Fernando Mendoza, Cal (so). 69% completion, 3004 yards passing (7.8 ypp), 16 TD, 6 INT, 105 yards rushing 2 TDs 9. Walker White, Auburn (freshman). Only threw 5 passes. 10. Called off his visit to IU. 15. Matthew Sluka, UNLV (will have one year eligibility). Left UNLV after a couple of games after they failed to deliver on NIL promises. Played at Holy Cross previously. IN his career, completed 57% of his passes for 6000+ yards (8.2 ypp), 65 TDs, 16 INTs. Known more for his running than passing, 3832 career rushing yards. 25. Anthony Colandrea, Virginia. (so). Two year starter at Virginia, had a better freshman year than sophomore year. Last season completed 62% for 2125 yards (6.6 ypp), 13 TD, 11 INT. Ran for 277 yards and 2 TDs. 27. Gentry was the 11th rated tackle in the class of 2020 and 147th rated overall prospect. Tyler Morris was the 18th rated tackle in the class of 2022 and 108th rated overall prospect. Had 3 catches for 36 yards this year against IU and 3 for 38 and a touchdown against Oregon. 23 catches for 248 yards this season overall and has also returned some punts for MIchigan. Both would huge gets.

LOL. But anyway, let's talk about Fletcher Loyer. Against non-P5 teams this season: 62% from the field, 69% from three Against P5: 39% from the field, 36% from three.

Hi, my name is Certified Sunshine Pumper and I'm a illogical conclusion jumper. Have fun arguing with yourself. I'll let the thread go back to its intended topic.

I'm not arguing that Mendoza isn't more mobile. But mobile doesn't always result in less sacks and in Mendoza's case they didn't. Dan Marino was one of the least sacked quarterbacks in both college and the pros.

I love how Oklahoma and Tennessee's mobile QBs beat Alabama by holding them to 3 and 17 points. Such a great job.

    IUFB 2024/25 Portalstravaganza

It is worth mentioning that Mendoza was one of the most sacked quarterbacks in D1. I do realize that Cal's line wasn't good, but at the end of the day he was sacked 41 times in 11 games. Because of the way that the NCAA keeps rushing stats, it is hard to see true rushing numbers. Mendoza is listed as having 87 runs for 105 yards, but sacks are counted as runs in the NCAA. So he would have had 46 true runs but without a better breakdown, don't know the rushing numbers.

And now you are done. ALABAMA HAD A MOBILE QUARTERBACK and lost to those teams. They scored 3 points against 6-6 Oklahoma. Adios.

And the original argument was about the preference of an accurate OR mobile quarterback. NOBODY has said that they want an immobile quarterback.

    IUFB Offseason Updates

I would think that one of two things has happened: 1. Cig has someone already lined up in the portal coming in. 2. Jackson wanted a guarantee that he would be the starter next season and Cig would not do that. I think that where Jackson transfers to will tell a lot. If he's transferring somewhere that he'll have to sit or have to compete for a starting job, then it wasn't #2. If he transfer to, say, a MAC level school where he is the immediate unquestioned starter, that #2 could have been in play.

IUBB vs Chattanooga - Saturday, 12.21.24 @ Noon on BTB

Lately it just seems like we are shooting more threes just to shoot more threes. Lot of deep shots that aren't taken with any offensive movement, just guys dribbling up the court and taking them. Carlyle has been the biggest culprit.

If your main takeaway was that all Indiana needed was a mobile quarterback to beat Ohio State and Notre Dame, then football isn't your thing. It is and always starts with the line. Quarterback mobility means almost nothing if the pressure is immediate. brush

You're absurb. He was 14 of 31 for 104 yards. If you can't protect your quarterback, the ability to run is lipstick on a pig.

What advantage did Nico Iamavela's legs do against Ohio State for Tennesse? Not a damn thing.

I think you are overselling a quarterback's feet. Tennessee's quarterback can run. Did absolutely nothing against Ohio State.

Against IU, Ohio State's starting quarterback scored with under 30 seconds left. Against Tennessee, they now have QB3 in with 7 minutes left.

LOL......ESPN still trying to find ways to compliment Tennessee, saying their 'fans showed up to the game'.
