The Official Btown Banners Beer Thread!
RaceToTheTop replied to coachmayhew's topic in Off Topic Forum
Anyone had Southern Pecan beer? My wife bought me a subscription to a beer of the month club about a year ago and it came in one of the packs. Great beer, but sounds like it's only distributed in some southern states. Instead of using grain, roasted pecans are used in the brewing. -
'heard from' is the operative word.

It’s not like guys are clamoring to go to central Arkansas. And no one that would go there are going to score 17 per game like Hunter.
-
Yep. Not sure I long for the days when a guy could have his picture in a charity calendar and face the wrath of the NCAA.

That was our Furst conversation.....but another one is Catching on. -
I entered the name "The Biittch Boys", with their surfin' hits "Good Violations" and "Little Doosh Dudes". I don't think I'll win. (words spelled incorrectly to avoid asterisks).

I believe IU calls themselves the Indiana Hoosiers.....the same as they did in 1987 when two starters started their careers at junior colleges.

Storr shunning being a centerpiece for St. John's under Pitino for Greg Gard at Wisconsin? Interesting.

Hard to consider it a success in terms of 'look at me' when people by and large are ignoring the venue. Altman blasted the attendance at Oregon in the NIT (just over 3,000), but that occurred all year. Average attendance for Oregon home games last year was under 6,000 -- about 48% capacity. In fact, Oregon has not had a sell out in over 5 years.

Maybe he was wanting to draw social security. He's nine months older than Race Thompson and would have been 25 before the 2023-4 basketball season ended.

They can indeed improve. But typically improvement is more about there being a big difference between floor and ceiling. I don't see much difference between Loyer's floor and ceiling.

People think lightning doesn't strike twice. One thing I know for sure: if lightning struck the same spot twice, I sure as hell wouldn't be standing on that spot proclaiming that it wouldn't happen a third time. -

If you don’t pay much attention to high school recruiting to know the signs of potential decommit, then why are you so cocksure it isn’t happening? -
Chris Ledlum - Harvard Transfer to Tennessee -- Wait, Make That St. John's
RaceToTheTop replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Even if only a couple of the four return, that is leaving less and less PT for incoming options. -
I like how the article states that Tennessee has two scholarships available, maybe three if a player goes into the draft…..but then mentions that doesn’t count four seniors who could potentially return. So they have anywhere from -1 spaces to 3 spaces.

Unless they do. My guess would be if an IU recruit removed ‘IU commit” from his online bio and our coaches took time from working on transfer portal to talk to visit someone that was supposedly locked up, you’d be concerned. -
Chris Ledlum - Harvard Transfer to Tennessee -- Wait, Make That St. John's
RaceToTheTop replied to Hovadipo's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Ledlum likely knows St John’s facilities since he’s from Brooklyn. If he goes there it would likely just be because it’s home. But I don’t think a Harvard player is going to think being coached by Pitino is a selling point. However, playing in front of hometown fans and in MSG(Pitino is trying to get about half the games there next year) could be. With that said, the current roster is basically Soriano and no one else. -

A simple message from the kid on social media or a simple phone call from the coaching staff could have squashed the 'silly rumor'. Obviously neither occurred since the kid put nothing out on social media to squash it and the staff is now visiting him. -

Regardless of the situation, a coach isn’t going to leave any kind of paper trail that would say a player is reopening his commitment unless the player has done so already. -
Jamison Battle - Minnesota Transfer to Ohio State

I gotta blame it where the blame lies: social media. Not enough tweets. Or too many. And the instagram was too grammy and not enough insta. -
Nebraska landed Brice Williams of Charlotte and Rienk Mast of Bradley.

He grew up in Brooklyn. I wouldn’t call that the coast.

Yeah, but that’s kind of like us wishing we could have a dog like when we were a kid and them wishing they had a dog that has wheels and farts blueberries. At least our dog was real.
