Posting to gauge interest in posters wanting to participate in a summer league coaching projected Big Ten teams in a PC Stellar simulation. In the past I've ran leagues using the previous year's statistics....this upcoming year I'm going to give it a go trying to use Torvik's projections for the year to come rather than the year that finished. Actual time commitment is minimal -- you take a Big Ten team, come up with a playing rotation and some strategies using pull downs on a spreadsheet. Thought it might be interesting since teams will look completely different than the previous season after graduation and portaling.

I wasn't a Hicks fan. See a lot of MIller Kopp in him but even less ability to hit a mid range shot. Raequan Battle is a guy who certainly is worth a look at guard as is Noah Reynolds. And I think I've made my feelings clear on Quincy Guerrier as a wing.

Committed to Michigan State. -
Ummmmm....why? Ohio State fans are only going to come to Bloomington every two years.

Hicks is a strange one. 6'7", can shoot some. RAIL thin. Don't expect to see him at the rim....like ever.

If IU is going to get invited to the party next year, better bring snacks. -

Ummmm….it is a thread on Ledlum. I hope you didn’t open it looking for cooking recipes. -
Quality post and food for thought.

IU would most definitely not have been NBA champions even with JBJ.
-
It's also significant to note that Zeisloft made 37% of his threes at Illinois State his freshman and sophomore year but 43% his junior and senior years at IU despite tougher competition. There is something to be said for multiple shooters making each other better.

I love the fact that 12 months later you’ve moved on with your life and haven’t gotten caught up in the past. Am I doing this sarcasm thing right? -
Agree with what you are saying except I have no idea what the last six words are trying to say.

Tennessee averaged 71.8 points per game. The team we are pointing to as a bully ball team outscored seven Big Ten teams. Five Big Ten teams have a tempo in the 300s. The most extreme SEC example we can come up with would be just a typical Big Ten team.

About a month before Cupps.

You are correct in that JHS's biggest question mark was his outside shooting. While he hit just 33% of his threes, I think that coupled with a really good midrange game was enough for scouts to feel that he will grow into a pretty good outside shooter. -
FWIW, while guard play is necessary to a title, the most important player in U Conn's title run last season wasn't a guard. You need talent everywhere.

We do. That said, people are upset with what we've landed but 247 ranks IU 5th overall and 1st in the Big Ten in transfer commitment rankings. Obviously that all hinges on Ware being as good as advertised. At this point, only one Big team has landed more than 2 transfer players -- Michigan -- and that team had their best player transfer out. Bottom line is IU does need to bring in a guard/wing. Truth is that IU probably is in more need of a shooting guard than small forward. Gallo is more of a 3 than 2 and Banks can play 3. Identify a player to fill that spot even if they aren't the most sought after -- find a shooter.

Hey, I said I missed the sarcasm. Mea culpa. -
I didn’t but usually do. C’est la vie.

And Woodson has had success with developing big men. Guarantee you that TJD's success was a selling point for Ware. Meanwhile the shooters IU was supposed to have -- Bates, Kopp, Stewart -- famously didn't fill it up. Guys who can shoot can find places to play whether it's at IU or elsewhere. -
Add Tre White of USC to that list. Hit the portal today. Freshman last year, 9.0 ppg, 5.1 reb. Only shot 27% from three but no reason to believe that won't improve. Top 50 recruit.

Maybe he should just look at twitter followers since that's what tells where a player is going to?

Or Battle liked that Ohio State was sending a 3 (Sensabaugh) to the NBA. It's not a secret why Indiana is more attractive to bigs than it is to wings right now. -
To be fair, if Archie had not been fired I have zero doubt that TJD would have been here for his junior season. TJD signed with Archie, but he himself said that he came back his junior year because of what Woodson said to him.
