Have to think so. Of course he'll probably get hired by Mississippi State next year because that's what Mississippi colleges do.

Or the rumors of him leaving were started had some base in reality and Tulane upped their NIL to him. I'm of the opinion that this rumors typically aren't started out of nothing. What is interesting is that the interview was posted from the FearTheWave twitter account.....FearTheWave, or FTW, is a Tulane collective group. Below is the banner at the FearTheWave twitter account.

Scored 20+ in 15 of Tulane's 33 games and was held in single figures just twice. Averaged 20.0 points in conference play.

With the portal slowing down, not many trickling in. Small one -- Jalen Hampton, 6'6" freshman forward had transferred from Northwestern State, committing to Austin Peay in late March. He re-entered the portal today. Played 25.5 mpg at Northwestern State his freshman year, starting 25 of 33 games. Averaged 10.2 points and 7.4 rebounds. Shot 65%, didn't take a single three all year.

UK board started a thread on Forbes and also indicated that it seems that IU is the team to beat for his services.

Hard fit.....Pac 12, maybe, if it survives. They're probably a better fit than UCF is for the Big 12, but I have no idea why the Big 12 took in UCF unless it was simply for the Florida market.

FWIW, do not expect Trilly Donovan to comment any more on players who have not entered the portal yet. He tweeted a week or so ago that he was not going to do so anymore as he was finding he was getting burnt too often on that.

CBBRoundup indicating someone is working toward being a grad transfer and would be one of the best available players. Ant Wright indicating the same, and in a reply saying he was not referring to Reeves. Forbes would make sense. Played his freshman year at Alabama and was in the back end of their regular rotation before transferring to Tulane and having a stellar three years. Bulk three point shooter who hit 37%, 39%, and 39% from deep in his three years at Tulane. Plus size for a 2 guard (6'5") and plus rebounder (5+ rebounds each year at Tulane).
  10. According to Rupp Rafters, Bidunga has informed them that he is no longer considering them and will not be visiting them. Sounds like he is visiting Duke, which IMO is the team to worry about.

    Who fills the last scholarship?

Correct, and I think it states something like grades being due on Aug 15 and posted on the 17th
  12. Thuoghts? Currently Torvik's expectation based on Indiana's current roster is: Cupps 20.8 mpg, 5.9 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 1.9 apg Newton 12.4 mpg, 3.8 ppg, 1.8 rpg, 1.3 apg. I know that based on Woodson's past two years, those minutes seem high -- only JHS averaged more than 20.8 and Reneau was the only other one above 12.4 -- and any portal guard/wing signing will likely see Torvik decrease those minutes. That said, I wondered what players of similar ratings/size had done as freshman in the past to see what typical expectations should be for them. Cupps was ranked 90th in the last 247 rankings, Newton was 111th. I compared Cupps to guards from the 2022 class that were close in size and ranking to him then did the same with Newton. For Cupps I stuck with point guards, Newton I used either point or shooting since he's listed as a combo guard. The five players I used for a Cupps comp were: Holloman, Michigan State, Isaacs, Texas Tech, McDaniel, Michigan, Nunez, Arizona State, and Abram, Ole Miss. The five I used for the Newton comp were Abram, Ole Miss, Edwards, Tennessee, Harris, Illinois, Hausen, Villanova, and Shelby, Vanderbilt. The five players from the Cupps comp averaged: 23.4 minutes/game, 6.2 shots per game (39% fg), 3 three point shots/game (34%0, 1.2 free throws, (75%), 1.8 rebounds, 2.0 assists, 0.7 steals, 1.4 turnovers, 6.8 points. The five players from the Newton comp averaged: 11.6 minutes/game, 3.6 shots per game (42%), 2 three point shots/game (36%), 0.5 ft (62%,), 1.1 reb, 0.8 ast, 0.4 steal, 0.6 turnovers, 3.8 points.

+1. Shannon entered the transfer portal and was no longer committed to Texas Tech. TT was under no obligation to allow him to take classes over the summer at TT so he could transfer to Michigan. Michigan has an issue with their admissions department and other schools are under zero obligation to make sure that their players satisfy those conditions. In terms of Reeves, there has been rumors connecting him to three Big Ten schools should he transfer -- Michigan, Illinois, and Indiana. Admission to Michigan likely won't be an issue because he would be a grad transfer. The issue has been with their undergraduate transfers.
  15. Yep, messed up -- it's Walker.

    Who fills the last scholarship?

If you can get Johnson now as opposed to waiting two months to see if you could get Reeves, you take Johnson now.

    Who fills the last scholarship?

Just wild speculation, nothing more.....I think Kansas wasn't happy with the way Texas handled Ron Holland's decommitment. The feeling initially was that Holland was going to decommit from Texas and go to Kansas. It drug on, Kansas moved on, and Holland ended up going to G-League Ignite. Since Texas is interested in Johnson, might be their way of sticking it to Texas. Already bad blood to begin with as Arterio Morris transferred from Texas to Kansas.

The Kentucky guy that is pretty trusted on inside info (Jack Pilgrim) says that grad credits are holding Reeves back from being a grad transfer but and Reeves has told UK he is going to be back but that Cal's calls to both Reeves and his dad are not being answered nor returned. My guess is Reeves is looking at every possibility of trying to graduate and transfer but going back to UK if he can't.

This would have been Reeves’ second transfer, so he would need a waiver. He wouldn’t need a waiver as a grad transfer, though.

According to Rupp Rafters, Matt Jones (KSR -- Kentucky Sports radio -- host) did a twitter spaces and said in the last 24 hours, those involved in Kentucky basketball have gone silent on Reeves. Monday, Jones was saying there was a lot of smoke indicating Reeves was coming back. Now Jones is saying he has no idea if Reeves is coming back.

Denijay Harris (transfer from Southern Miss, committed to New Mexico State) is reopening his commitment. Trilly Donovan indicating that he'll be going to Arkansas after they failed to land Grant Nelson. Not a huge pick up; averaged 8.9 points and 5.6 rebounds in 24 mpg at Southern Miss.

I'm a huge fan of Mike Patton (best known as the lead singer of Faith No More). He's had a **** ton of side projects (he provided a lot of the zombie voices in "I am Legend") and has a huge vocal range. Here's a couple of his side projects: "We're Not Alone" from his group Peeping Tom and "God Hates a Coward" from his group Tomahawk. The quick change from falsetto he does in We're Not Alone is amazing -- and he's doing it live here.

Rupp Rafters makes Peegs look sane. They've went through about eight cycles with Reeves from 'the sky is falling if he goes and Cal sucks' to 'Reeves is coming back and anyone who said he was leaving is a moron' and then 'Reeves isn't taking classes at Illinois State, that's just a rumor' then 'he's taking classes there but isn't leaving' then 'he's taking classes there and he's either headed to the Big Ten or Memphis and Cal sucks again'. Now they posted a video from a talking head saying that 'Cal is holding him hostage since he can't go anywhere until he graduates'. However, the overall sentiment is that they need him (if they think he's coming back) or they don't need him (if he's leaving).....but to a man, the posters think Cal sucks and he's outstayed his welcome. Anyway, the Rupp Rafters board seem to read into the 'insiders' what they wanted to. Jack Pilgram is the insider (Kentucky guy) who has provided the most info, and what he basically had been saying up until 48 hours ago was that Reeves was leaving. Then yesterday he said that it was looking more likely that Reeves was coming back and then Cal had changed his mind on some things (in regards to a collective). People starting running with this and said that Reeves coming back and would be announcing within 24 to 48 hours. But I don't think those thoughts are coming from people in the know. Could be wrong, maybe he announces tomorrow that he is coming back to UK, but Reeves can play the long game IMO and wait for UK to either up their NIL or wait to get his classes completed and go the grad transfer route late in the summer. At that point, he is going to be THE most valuable player available.

Maybe. Sounds like Kentucky is trying to form a collective (can't believe they didn't already have one). But there are suitors out there....Indiana and Illinois among them. Reeves can bide his time.
