Link the stats instead of a Kentucky anecdote. U Conn had three neutral court non-con games last year and one road game….and that was a 21 point laugher at Florida.

Oops…I was looking at a rating, not a rank. -

Bronny James is ranked 95th by 247….not exactly a watch list type. -
Not sure what you are saying with the last sentence. I will say that I'd rather IU play three neutral court games than one road game. If you want to advance in the tournament, neutral court ones are the ones you have to win.

(2023) - SG Jakai Newton to INDIANA

....we always circle back to Welliver's. -
Did you read the "this list will be updated periodically as we count down to the 23-24 tip off"? It's not a complete list because not all schedules are finalized. Also have to wonder how many teams are only playing a single road game because of a conference challenge has them playing on the road. IMO, the mandated 20 conference game schedule has produced fewer and fewer true road games. You are already guaranteed 10 power 5 road games. Add in a conference tournament and the average team plays another two games against power 5 teams on neutral courts. The point of making your non-conference schedule tougher is kind of a moot point when 70% of your SOS is going to be against teams in your conference.

I don't think Woodson was looking at that being a regular occurrence. Saying we are a bit thin at the 2 IMO doesn't mean we would still expect to see Banks/MM at the 2 anything but on a rare occasion. Galloway is still the starting 2 for the time being and X can slide to the 2 alongside Cupps. Gunn and Newton can play the two but Gunn has to be better than last year and we still are hoping for a healthy Newton.

6'6"

Have to say if I'm C.J. Gunn, I'd take that as either not encouraging or a message.

Ques Glover transfers to Kansas State. Would have been a decent IU fit.

Lexie Hull: played in all 28 games, started 22, averaging 21 mpg, shotting 37/22/74 after shooting 27/19/90 last year and has 30 assists to 30 turnovers. Grace Burger: 12 mpg, shooting 44/45/84, 39 assists to 22 turnovers. Make this make sense.

Akok Akok in the portal. 6’10” stretch 4/5. Played threes year at UConn and a year at Georgetown. Averaged 5.- pts and 4.7 reb in 23 minutes over 4 seasons. Shot 44/31/58.

Who would you choose to have a GREAT season?
RaceToTheTop replied to Hardwood83's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Mike Woodson is the correct answer. -
I understand their logic in denying the waiver. But in terms of the four full seasons, he was injured one season and limited to 13 games. He'll graduate playing in exactly 100 games. X has already played in 129 and has another season to go.

Omar Silverio's waiver to transfer to West Virginia denied. He will have no college eligibility left. Played as a freshman at Rhode Island in 2018-9. Transferred to Hofstra and played three years there through 2021-22. Transferred last year to Manhattan for his extra covid year but decided against playing when the Manhattan coach was fired about a week before the regular season started. I assume that he felt he would get the waiver as others have been given waiver due to coaching changes; in almost all cases, though, the coaching change is prior to the school year beginning. Assume the NCAA did not allow the waiver as Silverio chose to not play.

I would agree that it is a comment more on fit but Trilly doesn't really post in a vacuum. He has tended to make comments on teams and fit when there is some interest.

Decent late (re)entry: Ques Glover, Samford. 6'0" combo guard, more of a point. Played at Florida his freshman and sophomore years. Over two seasons averaged 3.7 points per game in 10.8 mpg. Struggled from deep. Transferred to Samford and had a breakout year in 21-22, averaging 19.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 4.4 assists. Shot 47/31/79. In 22-23, he suffered a torn meniscus in November which kept him out for awhile but still averaged 14.7 points in 24.6 minutes over 19 games. Shot from deep better and shot 47/38/85 overeall. Committed to BYU on June 2nd but has now re-entered the portal. As a grad transfer will be immediately eligible without a waiver. Another late entry is Mike Meadows of Portland. Has played for Eastern Washington and Portland. Over the last three years averaged 10.5, 10.2, and 11.0 points. Decent three point shooter. Has shot 43/35/86 for his career.

If it were a player on that roster, Jordi wouldn’t have made sense. Don’t need a 6’6” small forward. Hernandez Garcia or Villar make more sense. Also not hearing anyone confirming it someone from that roster.
-
Malique Ewin back in the portal (certainly not an IU prospect). 6'10" center, was ranked 118th by 247 when he entered college. Only played spot minutes at Ole Miss. Entered the portal in the spring, signed at South Florida and now has re-entered.
-
If the Big Ten doesn't get Washington and Oregon, it will be because of USC. USC is very against western expansion as they feel that bringing in other west coast teams hurts their LA recruiting market.
-
FWIW, I believe fellow Ball State transfer Jaylin Sellers transferred to UCF. Could be the two players are tight.
-
Journey: two years at Temple. Second season shortened by a shoulder injury. Transferred to Iowa State. Achilles tendon injury came him from ever playing there. Hit the portal again this year and initially transferred to Illinois. Illini fans were not pleased at the time because it filled their last scholly I believe and didn’t seem to be a fit. Decommitted to Illinois, now going to Rutgers. point guard by nature with decent size. Not a good shooter but decent defender. Due to injuries, has played in only 38 games in three years. In 32 mpg at Temple averaged 9.5 points, 3.5 reb and 4.2 assists. Shot 42/27/64.

Denijay Harris (So Miss) to Arkansas. 6’6” forward, 8.9 ppg, 5.6 rpg in 24 minutes. Strictly an inside the arc player.

Not a transfer but a decommitt -- Marcus Adams, Kansas decommitt, to Gonzaga.
