Such a disciplined team that never blows assignments. -

Not sure how pointing out others can get involved is ‘chicken little’ behavior…..certainly not understanding why this was put in a reply to my post. I’ve never expressed ‘sky is falling’ behavior on any recruit or transfer….because in todays landscape there are options. -

If it was just about his best buddy, he could have committed to IU already. Him not committing is good in that it means IU has been able to make him reconsider Maryland. But it also means that he isn’t sold on IU at this point either. -

It's horrible news for Maryland. For IU, it's a little better but IMO still not great. IU likely swayed him enough to reconsider Maryland. But there will be other suitors in the spring who might have roster spots/minutes available now that they don't project now. -

Well, Maryland thought they had Hunter Dickinson in the bag last offseason. They ended up not even being close and a distant third. -
They are most definitely fun. They have played 7 of their 9 games at home, but 6-3 is encouraging. They are pretty bad defensively, but offensively they lead the league in points/games, shots taken, effective field goal percentage, and assists. Haliburton is a legit all star.

Pockets sometimes trump both head and heart. -
That said, Torvik projected them to finish 22-7 and only co-champs of the Sunbelt. When it all shakes out, they'll more than likely need to win their conference tournament to make the dance.

Found this on Andrews website: honest to God team picture. Looks like they play in a middle school gym.

KenPom has only one top 100 team in James Madison's schedule (Michigan State). Kent State is at 119 and that makes them the second highest rated opponent they have. It's one of those schedules where they could go 25-3 in the regular season and lose in the conference tourney and be a bubble team at best.

Agree. Sometimes maybe is worse than a no because it takes up recruiting time. -
I guess I get the hype with him being Lebron's son, but he's a high 4 star recruit. Without the bloodline, he'd be a nice addition to USC but not a guy you would expect to be a game changer right away.

I don't disagree -- it's about the kid, not the program. Players should sign with they are ready. If a program doesn't wait around on a kid, the move on. For five star kids like Queen, programs are always willing to wait and shift around if necessary. I will say that if does chose to sign in the spring, that will put other schools into play outside of Maryland and Indiana. It is what it is. -
Game Thread: IU vs FGCU - 11/7 @ 6:30 on BTN

In terms of Kaleb, he looked really bad....but he was only on the court for less than 2 minutes. I think the reason that Gunn got more time than Banks was simply positional -- there was stretches where X, Galloway, and Cupps were all on the court so that made Gunn the long guard off of the bench to come in. -

I see Queen's comp more along the lines of Thomas Bryant than either TJD or Reneau. -

What about last year? -
Fort Wayne still up 6 on DePaul, 15 minutes left.
-
BTW, Fort Wayne lead by 8 at half at DePaul despite missing 11 layups.
-
What network is it on?
-
Fort Wayne up 8, 41-33, at half.

Of note: the guy that Robbie Hummel kept saying 'has the second greenest light after Isaiah Thompson" on FGC's team -- Chase Johnston -- was 3 of 12 from the field and 3 of 15 overall. The guys who were hitting against us were Zach Anderson and Dallion Johnson. Johnson was a little used guy from Penn State Anderson is a decent player but not known as a bulk three point shooter -- averaged one made three per game last year. Those two were 10 of 18 from three tonight. Side note: don't know who keeps IU stats but they keep criminally undercounting Ware's blocks. Credited him with three but I know there were a couple that he got a hand on that altered the path on misses. -

They aren't. But I would have been shocked if after our opening game the conclusion would have been anything other than we would struggle to compete on the national level with our guards. -

FWIW, Mgbako played 19 minutes and we were +2 with him in. C.J. Gunn, on the other hand......played 9 minutes and we were -11 with him.
