I think so as well, just saying that they don't have gimmes.
-
2 minutes left in 2OT, OSU and Maryland tied at 75.
-
Holtmann just wasting timeouts.
-
Of interest: their next two home games are Mississippi and Alabama.
-
Fans booing them at the end of the game.
-
Double OT in Columbus.
-
That should do it in Kentucky.....don't get the rebound on the second miss.
-
Zags foul up 3, 4.1 seconds left.
-
Hate Kentucky.....but I think the jump ball call was correct.
-
what a HORRIBLE play drawn up by Calipari.
-
OT in Columbus. Dontae Scott had a chance to give Maryland the lead but missed two free throws with 48 seconds left. Missed shots by Bruce Thornton and Jahmir Young after that.
-
Maryland to the line, 48 seconds left. Ohio State got lost on a switch and had to foul.
-
Thornton 3, tie game with 54 seconds left. Maryland ball.
-
Ohio State down 3 to Maryland with 1:27 left, OSU ball.
-
Sparks. Ware and Reneau both pick up one and Sparks comes in to play Edey and picks up 2 in 10 seconds.

BYU wasn't the only loss. In a span of one year, the MWC lost BYU, Utah, and TCU. In terms of the cash cow of athletics in football, that what their top three (or three of four depending where Boise State lies in terms of intake) money makers went.

But that wouldn't be anything new. Mid majors don't typically bring in 4 or 5 star recruits...most would love to get 3 stars. It's not like the Mountain West was getting highly ranked recruits before and changed their recruiting strategy to get fit over stars.....that isn' new. The question is what has the Mountain West been able to do that other mid major conferences haven't been able to? Why has the Mountain West succeeded while conferences like Atlantic 10 and Missouri Valley seem to have become one or two bid leagues and Conference USA and the American Athletic Conference haven't been able to stay stable?

I want to complain about no one complaining in this thread in over 48 hours.

Reynolds definitely grabbed his jersey. That said, once that was missed, the Penn State did push off.

Can anyone explain exactly how the MWC has gotten so good (other than figuring out the NET system to their advantage in terms of out of conference scheduling)? I haven't watched much MWC bball this year but did the last two years and it was very entertaining. They are on equal footing with the Pac 12 at this point but they have a higher percentage of legitimate tournament teams.

Yeah, but in Penn State’s case it’s not really about resume building. Their non-conference SOS on Pom was 314 and they are just 12-11 overall. With that kind of non conference and conference schedule, they’d probably need to be at least 16-7 to be in the conversation

#13/14 IUWBB vs Michigan State - Thursday, 02.08.24 @ 7:00 on Peacock

ESPN bracketology has seven big ten teams in — Michigan in Maryland first team out. -
They are also going to be helped by having single plays against the top three in the Big Ten -- Purdue, Wisky, and Illinois.
-
Utah loses in 3OT to Arizona and have themselves to blame — 10 of 21 from the free throw line.

MSU is in a three way tie with Nebraska and Penn State right now, but Nebraska plays Ohio state and Iowa next. Both MSU and Penn State have favorable schedules. Could be MSU/Penn State in the 4/5 spots.
