Dantwan Grimes (Baylor) entered the transfer portal on January 10th. Came to Baylor this year from a JUCO and although minutes were limited, played pretty well when he got in. 100 minutes over 12 games, averaged 4.7 points and was 18 of 30 from the floor and 8 of 12 from three. Announced he is transferring to Southeast Louisiana. Top 150 2023 prospect has left Memphis and will be entering the portal. Only played 6 minutes total at Memphis.

Really, really weak slate even for a Friday night. Aztecs/Lobos will be good but what's the second best game? Maybe Ohio/Toledo?

The Minnesota player is Jack Wilson -- transfer from Washington State. Was on a football scholarship at Washington State and was mostly an offensive lineman on special teams. 6'11", 290 and cut. Can't really play basketball at this level, though. Just kind of a guy to go in an bang against big players....had only played in six games for Minnesota this year.

Going to be a pretty obvious hook and hold on Minnesota's Jack Wilson there. Never understand guys who block out and then don't even go up for the ball. Edey could have gotten hurt there.

Well, they are 6-20. Jeff Jones coaches there (coached at Virginia at one point) and in his ten years there this is by far his worst team. If the kid's a headache, he probably feels they can lose with or without him.

They did, but they also played Stanford (ranked #3 now), Princeton (ranked #25), and Tennessee (third in the SEC now and were ranked #19 when IU played them) and beat two of them. Women's top teams just have a much slimmer margin because of the difference between top teams and mid teams.

He had several offers from P5 teams (Georgia Tech, Arizona State, Boston College, DePaul)...signed at Old Dominion and ended up getting kicked off for "conduct unbecoming a Monarch" in late January. Haven't found anywhere what the infraction was.

Overall #15....should be higher IMO. 21-3 with losses to the #2,3, and 4 teams (all on the road) gets you the #15 spot? I understand that there are less upsets in the women's game and that there are more few loss teams than in the men's game, but it doesn't seem like Virginia Tech has four losses including a 17 point loss to unranked Duke (and are currently down by 2 late to Duke again, this time at home).

This has completely crossed over into the high school games I've watched.....the number of flagrant foul calls is ridiculous. Accidents happen -- and let's face it, if his arm had grazed anywhere except his nuts, they aren't even calling that a foul. I'm starting to see flagrant fouls called on every breakaway dunk attempt where the defender makes a play and makes contact with the dunker's hands in high school games. Bottom line, flagrant fouls should be limited to plays where the intent is to injure.

Huh....I had to go to a board meeting and Northwestern was up 22-11 in the early going. Must have played pretty poorly after that.

Just my two cents.....Ngw and I had a very contentious start but that ended awhile back. Ultimately there are two paths: move on or keep rehashing the past. Bringing up months old items, just as USPS said, isn't going to advance any conversation and likely will only make people less likely to read what you do post going forward.

The IU women are 21-3 with their losses being on the road at the #2, #3, and #4 teams. They should feel good about their chances hosting in the first round.

Question for @Uspshoosier Indiana State is currently ranked — won’t be next Monday. Let’s say they win out but lose the tournament title to Drake — they may be ranked after the tournament final. Has any ranked team ever not made the tourney since the field was expanded?

Murray State could go to 135 by beating Indiana Statein the last game…not sure that is a good scenario though

If they win out in the regular season, then almost assuredly Drake and Bradley as the 2 and 3 seeds, so in terms of getting wins in their conference tournament they likely are playing either a 4 or 5 seed...I think the only team that could possibly get into the top 100 net by then is Southern Illinois, but they are currently at 109 and their best chance at a big jump would be to beat Indiana State in the regular season, which ISU can't have happen if they want an at large bid. So it's not likely that any conference tournament games they'll have other than the final would even be a quad 2. With the MVC tournament happening a week before selection Sunday, those games are sure to be looked at. I 100% agree with your assessment -- they could get an at large if they win out in the regular season and make the conference tournament finals. The committee surely won't like their lack of Q1/Q2 games plus the single Q1 win.

Vanderbilt beat Texas A&M 74-73 in a game where the largest lead by either team all game was 4 and there 19 lead changes.

He made an official visit to Indiana last month on January 12th. Haven't seen anything beyond that -- so haven't seen that he has officially signed BUT also haven't seen that he is reopening his commitment.

Detroit Mercy is shooting 27.2% from three. That makes them the better shooting perimeter team in this matchup.... IUPUI is shooting 24.6% from three -- making just 90 of 366 threes in 26 games. For comparison, IU has made 32 more threes than IUPUI on just 6 less attempts.

What any other team does is irrelevant to what Indiana would do with Woodson. If they were to choose to fire him (which I don't think will happen), then it should be done between the Big Ten tournament and the start of the NCAA tournament. Secondly, it's not Madden where you can force someone to sign.
