They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread
RaceToTheTop replied to Banksyrules's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yes, except it's pretty good pay for a year and a year to make connections for the next year. I would say that if this the route IU is going, I would expect that we'll be looking at not just this season making our team up from the portal but the next season as well. Even if 2025 recruits were to commit to IU good chance they decommit on a coaching change. Think I'll be out of the thread for awhile. Woodson isn't getting fired this year and I'm already in the acceptance phase of that. Just hope for the best in the portal and that the playing style picks up next year. -

12-18 overall, but 9-18 against D1. But if I'm a Chicago State player, sign me up. CBI is all played at Daytona Beach this year. 16-17 Evansville also playing in it. -

I totally get it. I don't like teams opting out of the NIT. But in today's game, it unfortunately makes sense to do so. -

Looks like a lot of teams opted not to play in the NIT. No Oklahoma, Pittsburgh, St. John's, Mississippi, Indiana, Syracuse. North Texas is a 5 seed and they were 18-14 and in seventh place in the AAC. P5 teams that did accept were Georgia, Xavier, Virginia Tech, Ohio State, Minnesota, Butler, Cincinnati, Villanova, UCF, Iowa, Kansas State, and Utah. -

Okay, no problem with that. I put St. John's in my bracket not because I thought they deserved, thought that the committee might like them. Big East with just three bids....Seton Hall, Providence, and St. John's on the wrong side of the bubble. St. John's win over Seton Hall might have cost the Big East a bid. -

Michigan State not even being in the first four despite being the only at large with under 20 wins. On FAU's 8 seed, I do think that the committee has a tendency to overseed a mid major at large if they had recent tournament success. IMO Butler benefitted from that preivously (although Butler backed it up by winning on the court). -

Oklahoma not even in the first four out.....wow. I don't think there could be any less difference between two resumes than they and TCU who ended up as a 9. -

Nevada was the 26th overall on the bracket matrix and a 7 seed but a 10 by the committee. -

Okay, so Dayton a 7. But man, the committee put the MWC teams all in but really didn't like them in terms of seeding. Oklahoma and St. John's out. -

Mississippi State, Michigan State, Oklahoma and St. John's -- two of those teams will be the 9 and 10 seeds in the final bracket. Two are out. -

Drake was a 10, so they did like their resume over an auto bid like Oregon. If Drake had been an 11 or 12, might have been the nail in the coffin. Still would likley mean they would have to pick ISU over the likes of Michigan State/Miss St/St John's -

My vote is Stetson. Guard centric and shoot the three well (don't play a lick of defense though)
