Huntley-Hatfield is visiting NC State on Monday and Tuesday, so could very well be he's gone from the portal before he ever visits IU.
-
Some do, some don't. Chris Ledlum and Jordan Dingle didn't live up their billing Ryan Langborg was better at Northwestern than he ever was at Princeton.
-
I think if he has a do not contact restriction, he already knows where he is going.

Is Hatfield visiting Indiana? -
My guess is you'll see Reneau starting at the 4 and someone else at the 5 with Reneau sliding to the 5 when the starter is one the bench. So half of the time Reneau and and a 5 on the court in essence, half the time just one of the two.

Would seem strange that IU would contact Payne on the same day that Wolf entered and put a do not contact on his recruitment if Wolf were set to come to Indiana. He is from Illinois, so could be that's where he ends up. Lot of talent leaving Illinois this season.

(2024) - (W) Diamint Blazi
RaceToTheTop replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Question: In this day and age, should a school take a developmental player and use resources to get them up to speed when they could very easily just move on and waste the time you spent developing them without getting much court time? -
Sorry, you are correct. Kentucky and U Conn are both Nike. U Conn has a female bball player who has signed with adidas so I thought they were adidas, but she's Canadian -- can only do adidas ads in Canada and not the US.

He can't shoot from distance. He's a 5. If he's at IU, he's likely going to be a 20 to 25 minute guy with Reneau sliding over to the 5 when Payne is on the bench. If you want to play both Payne and Reneau but also want the floor spaced, you'd need to be judicious about the amount of time they are both in the game together. I'm expecting 30 minutes or so for Reneau and if Pharrell were to get, say, 22 that would mean you would get at least 10 to 15 minutes with both in under the best case. Payne is a good defender. I have said I wholeheartedly doubt you are going to so IU go away from playing Reneau alongside another a big for stretches of the game, so have to hope we get some shooters and have Reneau expand his game as well. -

Slamming the ball down not a technical, I guess. -
On that list, Indiana, Kentucky, U Conn, and Kansas are all adidas schools. Always seemed like Indiana and Kansas were in the lead for his services before, so I am assuming he stays with an adidas school (and would be surprised if it isn't Kansas).

I'll ask @IU - Kaulie She probably was able to spot what you ate through her binoculars.

(2024) - (W) Diamint Blazi
RaceToTheTop replied to Stuhoo's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I still waiting to see who actually has offered him. Saw a graphic with like twelve teams -- pretty much low and mid majors -- and it said "Diamanti Blazi -- interest and offers". Seems kind of like some teams have looked into him and there aren't many biting. -
Do you remember if IU reached out last time he transferred?

Eric Dailey, Oklahoma State freshman has entered the portal. 38th ranked recruit in class of 2023. Started 16 games for the Cowboys. In 22 minutes/game averaged 9.3 points and 4.8 rebounds. Plays power forward but does have some ability to shoot -- made 19 of 57 threes. Shot 50/33/60 last season. Three years of eligibility. Reuben Chinyelu, 6'11" freshman center, Washington State. Rim protector and rebounder for the Cougars. Mostly came off the bench but started 12 games and averaged 14 minutes/game. 4.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks. Shot 62% from the field, no threes, 48% from the line. Three years eligibility. Mass exodus from Stanford continues. Brandon Angel, 6'8" forward. One year of eligibility. Averaged 13 points and 4.7 rebounds. Very efficient scorer, shot 57/45/82 and has shot 51/39/81 over four years. Not necessarily a bulk three point shooter but in the past three years has made 94 of 237 from three (40%). Riley Kugel, Florida. 6'5" guard. Started 28 games over the last two years, averaging 9.5 pts and 3.2 rebounds. 42/34/68 shooter.

Miller Kopp shot 44% his senior year in the same IU offense -
Difference: U Conn is 6th in defensive efficiency, Illinois is 91st.
-
This season it's been about teams with high offensive efficiency winning games. Alabama is 4th in offense and 101st in defense; Illinois is 2nd in offense and 91st in defense. Both in the elite eight.

(2024) - SF Bryson Tucker to INDIANA
RaceToTheTop replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Having trouble tracking down his high school stats (not abnormal, its hard to find them for a lot of players) to see Tucker's shooting numbers, particularly from the three point line. Did find an article where his team won the Beach Ball Classic where he scored like 28 of his team's 64 points in the first game and then 34 of his team's 77 in a double OT victory in the championship and in the title game he made five threes. -

We did, but Purdue twidiots took to X to say how it wasn't a good pickup. Sorry, meant Tucker. Not sure why I typed Young. -

Damn. Other than West Virginia, a real southern list. Might like the warm weather. I will say that the two things that concerned me were his height and that his three point shooting percentages jumped all over the map in his four years -- 40% his freshman year, 21% his sophomore year, 32% his junior year, 43% his senior year. Still in need of a point guard and shooters. Hopefully positive developments with Hickman this weekend. -

I always like top ranked kids who prioritize international ball over the national travel circuit. Games where they are actually going all out and trying to win as opposed to expressing scouts.
