He played 18 minutes per game his sophomore year and was sixth in minutes his sophomore year at Purdue on a team that won the Big Ten. Can't really label guys as 'ninth or tenth guys' -- depends on how they fit with the team's roster. I agree there are better fits than IU if IU is looking for one stretch big and one defensive big, but Furst will land on his feet somewhere. Been rumored that he will be looking at going to Notre Dame. Of course, he'd have to first announce he's in the portal.

Tobe Awaka, 6'8" PF, Tennessee. Interior backup for Tennessee with some talent. In 13 minutes per game last year averaged 5.1 points and 4.6 rebounds -- very solid rebounder, registered two double-doubles last year despite not starting any games. Is a fouling machine, though. Seth Trimble, UNC. 17 minutes/game at UNC last year as a sophomore, averaged 5.2 points. Shot 42% on limited three point attempts (13 of 31). 30th ranked recruit in class of 2022.

Smith? Nah. He needs to recruit over Loyer.

Purdue scholarships currently: incoming freshman (6): Catchings, Harris, Burgess, Jacobsen, Cox, Benter sophomores to be (3): Heide, Berg, Colvin juniors to be (4): Kaufman-Renn, Waddell, Loyer, Smith seniors to be (1): Furst First, Purdue is going to have at least two players enter the portal before they can even bring one in. I am guessing Furst enters but that doesn't help them long term much because he's their only senior anyway.

There are matchups that are going to be very favorable to him. I don't expect him to be a star at the next level but he's going to be servicable.

Not unless he does a 180 -- I believe it was over a month ago that Painter said he would not be coming back. And since he's played himself into being a first round pick, he would be nuts not to. There exists potential for his stock going down next year and not much to gain. At this point he is what he is.

I would worry about him in the reverse. He'll get some points at the next level, but U Conn really showed how even guards can beat him.
