Pull on the jersey....no ******* call. Again.
-
**** you, Boston.
-
Free throws 23-3. Pacers have been clearly better. Refs now bail out Boston by giving them a timeout despite an obvious offensive foul.
-
'unsuccessful challenge'....BS.
-
NBA has a clear agenda. They wanted the Knicks to beat the Pacers -- Knicks had 56 more free throws in the series -- Pacers were just that much better.
-
Nearly three quarters in, free throws 17-2 Boston. NBA gonna NBA.

I know TJD told teams not to take him in the second round unless they were going to give him a guaranteed contract -- unless someone is willing to do that, a second year deal isn't real valuable to a guy with eligibility left and a good opportunity at NIL money. And TJD still went through the scrimmages.

Chaz Lanier (6th rated portal entry by 247, 6'4" North Florida guard, 19.7 ppg, 4.8 reb, shot 44% on 241 threes last season is visiting Kentucky. He is still in the draft as well. Lanier played four years at North Florida and never averaged more than 5 ppg until his huge senior year. #14 portal entry Cam Christie made a strange decision to skip the scrimmages at the NBA draft combine. He's mostly been mocked in 40s overall and probably needs a boost to go into the first round.

Transfer Portal w IU Interest
RaceToTheTop replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I didn't blame the walk ons for anything. But if IU had spent a scholly on an extra point guard last year -- even if it was on a flyer that didn't pan out -- that was a better strategy than giving a walk on a scholarship. Since players can free transfer, the worst case scenario IMO would be to look to put a player transferring who has one year left a scholarship even if it was for nothing for more than an emergency guy. Even a guy like Zach Loveday from Samford is a better option than giving a walk on a scholly IMO. Loveday has spent four years as a deep backup option -- three at Baylor, one at Samford -- but at the minimum, you could put him in a game to absorb some fouls as a big in an emergency if there are foul problems or injuries in the post. Don't mistake that for saying I want Loveday as an option, just that he makes more sense than giving a walk on an scholly. -
Knicks shot 56 more free throws in the series than the Pacers. And lost.

Even when they aren't dealing with an accident, the traffic into Valhalla isn't good. I was at the PGA Championship about 10 years ago when it was at Valhalla. That said, nothing is as bad as Crooked Stick. The year I went there, we tried to cut out early to avoid the traffic and it took us an hour just to move 100 yards near the gate. Literally one entrance in and out and you have to be shuttled in because parking is nowhere close.

What ball are you playing? Personally, I try to stick to the best $30 and under/dozen. Brands I play that I like that fit: Mizuno RB-Max.$26.40 on amazon. Bridgestone e12. Usually right at $30. Calloway supersoft. Usally about $25 on amazon. Legato LTX-3085. Like Vice, it's a direct-to-consumer ball so costs are lower. Pretty good little known ball. I started purchasing them directly from their website when they started and for the first year they offered BOGO free trying to build their business up and I could get two dozen for about $42. They now can be purchased on amazon and list for $29.99 but I believe they are one of the sponsored brands there so quite often they will have a price reduction to $24.98 and on a lot of dates where they are offering big savings, you can get a dozen for $20.

One report out there that on Tuesday''s court date, the charges against Scottie Scheffler will be dropped.

247 posted win projections for Big 10 and SEC teams and put the over/under for IU at 5.5.

Updated. Currently 13 of On3's top 100 portal players have not committeed. Coleman Hawkins is still draft eligible unless he removes his name; Ledlum entered the portal but unless he wins his lawsuit, has no eligibility left.

Mitchell and Page are both high ceiling guys who have undercontributed so far. Will be interesting to see how that team jells.
-
Dillon Mitchell (Texas) transferring to Cincinnati. 6'8" PF averaged 9.6 pts and 7.5 rebounds last year. 247 ranks him as the 22nd best transfer. Two years of elibility left; out of high school, he was the 8th ranked player in the class of 2022.

Transfer Portal w IU Interest

Waste of resources, IMO. Take a flyer on someone worthy of a scholarship if they pan out and put them on scholly. Our three walk-ons played a grand total of four minutes last year. -

How would giving a walk on a scholarship help anything? They are already on the roster. -
On3 does portal ratings where they compare players gained to players lost. Average score would be 0: IU 23 Michigan 22 Nebraska 21 Washington 13 Maryland 13 USC 9 Illinous 7 Notthwestern 7 Purdue -5 Rutgers -7 Penn State -7 Michigan St -7 Ohio St -8 Iowa -9 Wisconsin -14 Minnesota -17 will have to dig for Oregon and UCLA

Transfer Portal w IU Interest

I wouldn’t be surprised but I don’t think it would be an impact guy. Either a freshman/sophomore with upside that could redshirt or a break glass in case of emergency big to back up hatton if ballo got hurt. -

So will IU stick with 12 schollies are pick up an extra body? -
Purdue lost. Added 6 freshman, lost Edey and Gillis. Nebraska I would say came out as a winner except they are losing Mast for the year due to injury. Michigan is TBD in my opinion. Everybody left.

While it is hard to track it all, On3 currently says that of the 1,087 players that entered the portal, 733 have committed to new schools (67%) and 9 have withdrawn and returned to their original school (1%). Still 345 in the portal although likely some of those have committed to a lower level or will not latch on anywhere.

Achor Achor (6'9" PF, Samford) commits to Kansas State. Put up big numbers last year at Samford considering he played less than 23 minutes/game: 16.1 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.8 blocks. Shot 59/44/71. Made 27 of 62 threes. The reason behind him only getting 23 minutes/game is that he was constantly in foul trouble -- he commits fouls at a rate 20% higher than Malik Reneau. Committed at least 4 fouls in 12 games.
