Need to hit the portal hard in the offseason. And we need to get the frosh O skill players some PT for development purposes. Got 4 games to burn without burning the redshirt. And we simply need to better recruiting in-state.

Yep, I'd be down with that. If I'm honest though, I'd simply forget all about N, S, E, and W.... and I'd put same states teams in opposite divisions so they could each win their divisions and play each other in the conference Championship. I'd still let them play every year (each team get's a static rivalry game each year). I just think the "distance" and "region" thing is a bit overrated. X Division - OSU, Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois, Purdue, Nebraska, Maryland Y Division - PSU, Iowa, Michigan St, Northwestern, Indiana, Maryland, Minnesota Rivalry games (cross div, yearly) Mich/MichSt, IU/PU, NW/IL, Neb/Iowa, Wisc/MN, Mar/Rut, OSU/PSU

A decent program yes, on the "rise" yes, but still a G5 team with no huge wins (at the time they were added). My point is, we lucked out due to their current status in terms of SOS. They are a good team, not saying they aren't. But it's a bit of an outlier all things considered. And not really trying to diminish this year's SOS, but teams are currently outperforming expectations (over the norm). We are in one of the tougher P5 divisions, but I'm not going to complain too much. I do think the B10 should realign. PU and IU should actually swap if you want to "real" as it pertains to E and W, but IMO what really should happen, is that Michigan should swap with either NW or IL.

I agree they should realign the B10. But if we're honest, IU is getting a huge boost from Cinci who is non-conference and not a traditional power house, Iowa who is mediocre more times than good and from the West side, and PSU who can be up and down. MSU and UM are likely both overrated this year, but that will wash itself out. Most years, the SECW has the most big guns. B10 is just having an "up" year right now, which is spiking IU's SoS along with Cinci's good year. I do agree on current ceiling though, but I think that can and should be improved. Need to take full advantage of NIL and the transfer portal. And hopefully the admin will continue to spend on FB.

I'm all for this. Sounds like the players love it as well, and honestly, that's the most important thing. Payers might be paid a flat fee by a Cuban like booster, and the tix revenue may be only a small factor. Anything that makes the players happy, and creates a buzz in the recruiting world, is fine with me. On the bolded, I have always thought every single school should have these types of things for their athletes. IU should absolutely leverage this in general, but also help the players gear up to starting their own personal or group businesses (or even non-profs) post college, and help foster them beyond school. It's something that could keep them tied back to the school, and keep also keep IU in the spotlight.
