It's called playing time. Kids don't want to work for it. Kentucky had a terrible year and lost in the first round of the NIT. Hasn't hurt their recruiting any because Cal sends everyone packing after a year. These kids think they'll slide through one year of college then be a lottery pick and Cal is happy to tell them that.

I'm sure that if JL wanted to commit right away they'd take it but he would be on a short leash.

One look at Butler right after IU should pretty much eliminate Butler pretty quick.

The kid is going to go wherever he thinks is best for him. If that's somewhere else then so be it. I'll wish him well. That doesn't mean I'll think he made the right choice.

SEC basketball does not equal Big Ten basketball.

He'll learn a lot more about basketball playing in the B1G than in the SEC. He'll be taking the easy way out at Florida. If that's his choice then so be it. If he doesn't think he has what it takes to make it at IU then he probably doesn't. The easy way out is for short term success.

I don't think we'll get any of the three, but life goes on anyhow.

A better strategy for success is going somewhere that you'll get a good education academically and athletically. You'll become a better player taking the harder route. Anyone looking for the easy way out is slighting themselves. It might help short term but in the end you'll be better off putting in the work.
