Yes. I think it is Maryland and then everyone else right now. With Michigan State, Indiana, Purdue, Wisconsin, Illinois and Michigan fighting after that. Melo Trimble reminds me A LOT of Trey Burke who ended up winning B1G player of the year and lead UM to the Nat'l Title game. Sulaimon is a great defender that can hit the 3. Layman can shoot is a possible 1st round pick. They have a good transfer coming in. They have a big time recruit coming in. They have experience coming back just like we do... except their experience played better defense than ours.

they definitely aren't world beaters but can get the job done and both went to the Final Four last year. They should have enough fire power between Valentine and Harris as well.

they bring back both Schilling and Costello who have proven to be able to play C. They also bring back Nairn who can't shoot but is quick and feisty. Plus they bring back Valentine, Forbes bring on Harris and Davis. Michigan State is going to be good. Plus they have Izzo.

They probably bring back more than you think. Add a McD's AA PF and bring on Eron Harris.

If Illinois doesn't have a good year then Groce will be gone. The Top 9 should be very competitive. But I don't see how MSU finishes outside the Top 3 worth how easy their schedule is.

I think last year really hurt him because the receivers weren't very good and we did play a few freshman. When you go from throwing to Cody Latimer, Kofi Hughes and Ted Bolser(Wynn was there as well) to having Wynn as your top WR and several freshman.. then it'll hurt. I think this year will be better. We'll have sophomores leading the way. We have Hawkins coming in (a Top 300 recruit coming out and went to UF then UAB). He adds to Booth, Harris and Cobbs. Friend and Fuchs as TE's. Passing game should be good again. Also we should be better if Nate goes down. Diamond improved each game last year and finished it off with the Purdue win.

gotta have that amazing 3 man weave. Plus letting 20 seconds run off the clock and running a high ball screen. People say Crean has a million page playbook.. yet there aren't any great plays. And let's not go into the inbounds plays lol. Will be interesting to see who he states and how the offense will be ran.

I think they can be that good. And they have a player in Malcolm Hill that could be the best SF in the conference. No disrespect to Troy Williams or Jake Layman but Hill can be that good.

sadly yes.. and it makes me think we'll have another year of absolutely pathetic offense with pathetic effort. It's hard to see how a coach can do the same thing back to back years thinking it'll just change for whatever reason... but then again it wouldn't surprise me from this coaching staff.

About like 300 other teams... use the system in your advantage. It's slow and no one knows how to play offense.

but Painter may be wanting to play big. With Hammons and Swanigan on the floor then they have good size. They have Haas and Swanigan. Heck he might go with Hammons and Haas now that he has Swanigan. They're going to be a load to handle down low. They won't be speedy but they should have a very good defense.

This is nothing against Crean. This is against you thinking we can still recruit like it's 1985 again.

You're gave examples of Randy Wittman, Ted Kitchell and Brian Evans.. all players under Knight lol. Those guys played forever ago. It is 2015. It is a different time. Bobby Knight is no longer around. We wouldn't be in a good place if Knight was still somehow coaching. It was very apparent at the end of his IU career that he couldn't keep up on recruiting.

Well we only really go after one every year it seems. Can't ever have 2. But if what you're doing to get those kids to come isn't working then change it up. Don't keep don't the same thing over and over again. Indiana needs talent. If we want to be Elite 8 or FF contenders every year we gotta recruit big. But we seem to get out recruited by fellow B1G schools.
