Do me a favor. Here's my post word for word. What did I present here as "news?" Opinion is allowed, right? Unless you're a stalker with an agenda. Which...well, you are. But go through this and let me know what's so offensive to you. Seriously...what's your issue, dude? When I wrote it, I had no idea about the increase in numbers in SC, but that doesn't change what's happening there. "Spoke too soon" is that great of an offense? Seriously, man. Get a grip on yourself. Nobody wants to read your personal crap, but I'm sure as hell not going to let you do it without rebuttal. Here you go....what in the hell is your issue? Edit : Harvard seems to agree with what I said below about when COVID originated. Just a bunch of whataboutism, probably. They're just Ivy League. They should probably listen to a guy who can't spell and blames it on auto-correct. Funny how nobody else has that problem. 1) Pulling out of the WHO (I believe it's temporary) was a good move until that organization actually bases what it does on "health" instead of politics and money. I believe the move was designed to provide an avenue for new leadership which is "pro-west" rather than "pro-China." Any organization that takes its (or any of its) orders from communist leaders is not one the US needs to support. Especially one that so clearly covered up COVID as China did. Some of you can crucify me, and I bet some will. 2) I just came home from a trip to South Carolina. Wide open. Beaches, restaurants (though some with seating outside), carriage tours, some bars w live music, very few masks.....and no outbreak. No spike. 3) No spike so far even with protests happening for 2+ weeks. In fact, according to Johns Hopkins map, which is where I get my data, yesterday was the lowest "positive cases" day in the US since March 25th, the "curve" has been flat since late April; and we're testing over 30x more people than we were then. Anyone with a functioning brain can make that logical correlation. 4) When it comes to transmission, I don't think anyone truly knows. I saw something a week ago that said along with prior respiratory conditions, it was a protein enzyme in blood that determines whether or not a person is vulnerable or not. 5) ER docs early on had no idea how to treat it so they put everyone "critical" on a vent. Turned out to be the wrong move. Doctors now know how to treat it, and the medical system is just fine, now. In most cases? "Here's some acetaminophen, stay hydrated, get some rest but also get on your feet, and call me if it gets worse." That is the treatment now. So we're staying closed for treatment that's almost identical to a bad cold. We have 40k-60k dead every year from the flu, and we HAVE a vaccine for the flu. If we didn't? How many dead would there be every year? Again, that logic tells me this isn't even as bad as the flu except in "some" people. So, determining who comprises that group of "some" seems to be of utmost import, now. 6) Based on conversations with some friends who are doctors and nurses? This thing has mutated a few times and is now pretty weak, overall. That's why ICU visits are far fewer and hospital stays are far shorter. I just don't think we're dealing with a lethal killer; and death rate has dropped, even with flawed numbers (attributed and assumed deaths). I also think it's been around far longer than January 21st, and I think our immune systems by and large have done and are doing well dealing with it. All based on personal experience and conversations with medical people. I'm done with the fear. I'm done with the shaming of not always wearing a mask (on a walk in my neighborhood.,...sorry. Not happening.) I'm done believing there are ANY "experts" on this, including Dr. Fauci. I think we have lots of anecdotal evidence on some things, I think personal experience counts. I think the several friends I have who have diagnosed positive and had mild symptoms (same is true for all of you and anyone else with the same experience) counts toward an educated opinion. And I for one man think keeping everything closed any longer is foolish. At some point, elected officials aren't expert on anything either, and while we need to protect the vulnerable; I think it's time to smartly get back to normal.

Is "Grammar" capitalized for a reason? Put down the shovel, dude. It's funny....you pretend to speak for other people, and pretend to believe what "they" would do. A classic case of a severe social anxiety disorder. You're on an island. You don't present anything but your own bile and spew narratives as if they're truth; but you usually do it in record time. I guess that's something. Why don't you just leave me alone? I know....it would detract from your post count, which I would bet is important to you, but you might try taking ab breath and learning to live with the fact that some people just aren't going to appeal to you and you don't always have to point it out. When you mis-use words and capitalize when you don't need to; you're awfully difficult to take seriously. You don't want me to go back and re-post your garbage, do you? A little self reflection would do you some good, stalker.
-
What's better is their retort that says "attacking grammar means you have no point." Well..no. It means I don't take you seriously and don't think much of your intellect.
-
1) I haven't made an argument and I am not trying to prove a point. I am calling you out simply at face value. Everybody but you knows exactly what I mean by that. Need me to spell it out for you? 2) Keep trying to convince yourself that you know me and that you have any idea what my motives are (I have none, but whatever). Go pull your lever and label people. That seems to be your M.O. What was it about my post that triggered you this time, snowflake? Question.... Why is it every time I post something....seriously every time, it takes you less than 3 minutes to reply with some personal attack? It's an obvious pattern. Good Lord, I haven't posted for 2 weeks, and here you are immediately. Do you live on here? Do you think people await your reply to what I say? Do you have any life beyond here spewing whatever opinion you have on any given day? Employed? In a relationship? Have a dog? Seriously dude, you're a clown. There is zero chance you'd speak to me in person the way you stalk me here. You're a complete coward with a personal vendetta for whatever reason and I would be MORE than happy to have a personal conversation about it. Why do I think you'll take that as a threat and make up some excuse for why you won't? Queue internet stalker mode.
-
You and "facts" have always had a difficult relationship. When they don't fit your narrative, you come unglued. It's fun to watch.
-
You're. It's spelled..."you're."
-
Stalker, you are as predictable as the sunrise. I almost named you specifically. You have never one time contributed anything of substance or requiring use of your brain. Please just block me or go away. I don't think anyone gives a sh*t about your personal problems with me or your obvious lack of simple logic.

I didn't dig that deep. I do know some docs are using it with efficacy in some patients. It doesn't look line any drug works in all cases....

Positive news regarding coronavirus thread
Old Friend replied to RaceToTheTop's topic in Off Topic Forum
I waiver on the DH. Sometimes, I make the argument that I'm a traditionalist and I hate specialization (pitching AND hitting), but on the other hand, I also hate the bunt for the most part, and a lot of pitchers aren't athletes...except they can throw hard or spot a slider. In general? I want live sports. I want something to look forward to at night besides MMA or old bass fishing tournaments. No offense to either.....but I want "sports." If that means baseball goes down a non-traditional path, I have no issue. -

Watching "The Last Dance" with my boys and watching them (high school aged) turn from "LeBron's the best ever" to "You were right, Dad. It's Jordan. And...it's not close." Buying and learning (again) to use the Weber charcoal kettle. I last used one in...1998, maybe? Walking, praying, and just being sometimes. Exploring the next chapter of my life. The "pause" was needed. Getting to know my best friend even better. More on her at a later date. Planning vacations... Re-discovering music Re-discovering hope. I miss sports. And they are coming back. -
Thank you for posting. It "proves" and cites a source for a certain poster who didn't want to believe this thing may have been around for a whole lot longer than has been reported. Given what happened today, I think it's plain to see there aren't a lot of media sources worthy of trust at this point. However, this does help out at least one person who just didn't buy it because the theory wasn't his own. I believe this article 100%.
-
Thank you again for THIS one. And again...you don't know how much I appreciate it. To tell you it's refreshing would be insulting. It's far more, and it is appreciated. The Dropbox article is sort of complicated, and it's....got a slant to it I admittedly don't care for; but have a hard time ignoring. And it's polar opposite from anything you'd find on Fox. (And I just clicked it....for whatever reason, it may have been the wrong link. No WONDER you were confused. That appears to be link to a polyester film. Sorry about that.) Anyway, what it was SUPPOSED to be is a link to an article from 2005. At that time, the SARS virus was the disease of the day, and HCQ was used in some treatments. Dr. Fauci supported it then. SARS stands for "severe acute respiratory syndrome." COVID-19 is "Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Cov-2." COVID stands for Corona Virus Disease. SARS was also a COVID. Circling back... Dr. Fauci and hundreds if not thousands of others supported HCQ as an effective, minimizing treatment of SARS in the early 2000's, so logically? They should support it, now. Except (and this is where I feel nauseous even making this point, which is why I above said you can draw your own conclusions) it costs about $0.06 cents to make. I hate even saying this because I am the anti-conspiracy, but now that he (Fauci) came out in support of a very expensive infusion therapy (Remdisavir), it makes me wonder. As they say, "follow the money." I HATE even insinuating that, but the lack of support in some circles confuses me because there are indeed many places and physicians having success with it and articles/papers suggesting as much. (I'll wait and see if Brass Cannon actually looks them up or pretends they don't exist because I won't do his homework for him) I think I'll go shower now, having said that. But again, seriously...thank you. Quackery was still cute. I'm stealing it. Finally, I agree 100% that there is a problem at the federal level. In fact, I'll take it a step further. Donald Trump was elected because this is a problem. He is an outsider and not afraid to call a spade a spade. Not afraid to get dirty. I think he is unlikable from a personality standpoint and says a whole lot of stupid sh*t. I think he's an egomaniac. But....from a policy standpoint? If I consider why he was elected, I can't argue much. Jobs and manufacturing? Check. A little tougher on illegal immigration? Check. Far better on trade? Check. But he's a poor politician. No surprise..he's NOT a politician, and thus has no idea how to play that game in a time of national crisis. Not that I think any others would have DONE better, but most would have SOUNDED better. I have always found it funny how Joe Biden has been in federal politics for 44 years (senate for 36 years, VP for 8) yet blames Trump for our problems. It's comical. Trump has not been smooth handling this, but he has gotten some things DONE. What he did for NY and CA was flat impressive; but I wish he'd drop the self applause and save it for campaigning. Biden is in the process of hanging himself...Trump doesn't have to say a word. Two words that would solve almost everything at the federal level : Term limits

Thank you. You don't know how much I appreciate this. On about every level. Thank you. Sincerely.

Of course. You and I don't always see eye to eye, but I think it's only been uncivil once. Happy to discuss. Edit : In my immediate world, I have an anesthesiologist, a physician who did a rotation through pulmonology, an endocrinologist, and a respiratory therapist. I spent over 20 years in medical sales, much of it in ICU/ER/OR environment, so I've been around it a lot. I don't need media to get as much information as I want about viruses or how the human immune system works. So when questions come at me which are nothing but personal shots at my credibility or from a political slant which hasn't provided the poster the same information I happen to have, I sort of laugh...and push back. When I DO push back, the results are exactly as you see above because there's not much more they can say when their questions and attacks are challenged.
-
A doctor on the media is not the media. Most of what I looked up is data directly from hospitals, etc. Anyone can look up what's happening at Yale. If you want to have the discussion that says that information might be false because of the media, I suppose we can have it, but if we assume there is no truth, then nobody's ever going to make a salient point because truth is a myth. There are ongoing studies at Yale. That's a fact. It also means SOME doctors at Yale believe there is clinical relevance. The fact that HCQ is being used to treat every patient in Turkey is also a fact....which anyone can look up. Same as every other answer I gave him relative to his "quackery" comment. And he comes back with "Fox." None of that came from Fox....and he can look it up as easily as I can. I typed the way I did because of his tone toward me ("how'd the quackery turn out," etc). I'm sure I came across as a d*ck. Good. I meant to in that case. Is anyone responding to him saying he did? Because he did. So does BC in almost every post. I couldn't care less what they think of me, nor anyone else who has only a snapshot. I'm brutally honest and don't have much of a filter. I do believe what I write and my style can be interpreted negatively if that's how someone wants to see it. Been that way for several years and I have a lot more support than detraction, so I don't know why I'd change. But those who ask ME for examples never seem to have a response when I give them examples.
-
I don't quite understand your point because I don't get my information from Fox. I wasn't pitting or favoring one over the other. I said 3 times they ALL (networks) suck and pander to their audience. Which means I agree with you when you say "both sides are wrong." I never said Fox was the truth; but I did say to read and listen to several sources, none of which are Fox News or any other network which I said are entertainment. Help me understand your point.
-
THERE it is. I was wondering when you'd bring that out. That response is what, page 1 from your playbook? That's the equivalent of saying "my dad can beat up your dad." Not one thing I gave you above came from Fox. But I know that's easier...just say "Fox" as if it's some dirty word because YOU prefer another network who lies to you and THEY tell you how awful it is. I bet you haven't watched even a second of Fox News, maybe in your life. But you're told how awful it is, so you run with it. The truth lies elsewhere, Grasshopper. Here's the secret. ALL of those networks are entertainment first. ALL of them preach to their own choir. They ALL suck, and none of them are truly "news.". Hint : try "Knowhere" and other more objective sources. I'll say this again. Think. For. Yourself. Look things up. Read. Educate yourself. Listen to doctors. Listen to economists. Listen to people who - every day - speak on behalf of the medical side of this and the economic side. It's actually a fascinating time in our lives. You should do yourself a favor and get away from your politics and actually learn what's going on around you. Bringing it back to the easiest possible comeback (Fox) is pathetic. You surely are better than that, right? I said above your media doesn't tell you everything and certainly doesn't give you "truth." And they don't. But at least I was gracious enough to provide a list of examples which answered your question. And THIS is the best you can come up with? You can't debate when I answer you so you go to the easiest possible comeback that has about as much substance as water vapor. You can't do better than that because YOUR media, whoever that is hasn't given you ammunition other than "Fox = bad?." Somehow referencing Fox is an end game, regardless of the fact that nothing I gave you came from there? (Again, you can look everything up) It's not up to me to get YOU information. There is a ton of it out there....surely you know how to use the Google, right? Or....are you afraid because you might find information you don't agree with and it might challenge you intellectually? Out of respect for the mods, that's all I'll say, except you can find the information you asked for. If you're willing.
-
Since you don't even know what drug it was, I doubt you're really interested in dialogue about it and instead favor your politics I also doubt you're interested in the truth because you strike me as yet one more guy who doesn't come here for any reason other than to stir the pot. I love guys like you. You're easy The crickets after the post you MEANT to grab are deafening, and I'm very happy to shove this across the table at YOU, too. Quackery. That's cute. I do love (and you people are very consistent) the labels and complete dismissal of information and people you don't agree with because your media tells you it's....quackery. Like I said....cute. Since you asked (and I bet this isn't what you meant to imply with your divisive and condescending tone) : HCQ in its design breaks down a cellular barrier and lets zinc into the cell. Zinc is being utilized in every therapy being trialed at this point. Some examples of "how it turned out? " : HCQ is being used at Yale, there is a randomized trial ongoing at Henry Ford Health System in Detroit, St. Francis Network in NY, Orange County network in NY, it's prescribed for every COVID patient in Turkey and has been shown to either slow or eliminate ICU admissions. A large doctor's group in Brazil posted a study over the weekend showing HCQ helped 91.6% of COVID patients, Dr. Michael Robb and Dr. Jane Orient, leaders in the American Association of Physicians and Surgeons said TODAY "We believe there is clear and convincing evidence of benefit both pre and post exposure (of use of HCQ)," meaning it may also be a prophylactic. Its being used successfully for the first time with older patients at a nursing home in Texas. Early adoption of HCQ in Italian hospitals showed unequivocal earlier release from hospitals compared to those who didn't receive it. It was used in a trial in New Brisnwick, CA with 118 patients. All 118 recovered. No deaths. No ICU admissions. Do you need MORE examples of "how it turned out?" And surely you could have looked all of this up yourself, but it's just easier (and lazier and more predictable) to make fun of data your media won't give you. You really should look this stuff up, though. It's fun to learn accuracy instead of parroting. Cute word though. I like "quackery." But if you want the REAL truth? Read this. COVID is a SARS virus. In 2005 Dr. Fauci and others were very high on HCQ. Now? It's Remdisavir. You can draw your own conclusions, right? https://www.dropbox.com/s/hy4zovox820vmpu/3G13018 50 micron.docx?dl=0 Sources? Immunologists. You think politicians are just opening things up because they feel like it? How dumb are you? Seriously....it's like you people just read what the media tells you and regurgitate it. Think for yourself. Try it. Just one time. What disinformation are you speaking of? Why do I KNOW it's really "information you don't have" or information you don't agree with. What else ya' got?

What evidence do I need? Jesus, I deleted this thing less than 2 minutes after I typed it because it wasn't worth it, and STILL you saw it and replied. AND...you need to put words in my mouth and make up a point so you can argue against it. And you wonder why I think you're a stalker? Good grief, man. Get a life! Go outside. Breathe fresh air. Read a book instead of a chat board. But,... 1) The "petty insults" have been well earned, and you know it as well as I do. I do far more than "nothing but." You know that, too. I just find you easy fodder because you apparently live on here waiting to see what people say so you can pounce. Why else would you have over 14,000 posts? 2) It is impossible to talk logically with you. You take the elementary road at every opportunity. The easy narrative. You're the intellectual equivalent to a 10 year old. You actually played the "you want people to die" card. Seriously...how is any sane, logical person supposed to have even a 4th grade level reasonable conversation with you if that's your stance? That's straight from the far left, whack job, unreasonable, conspiracy theory "think the worst of humanity," lowest common denominator, simplistically elementary BS playbook that does nothing but sling mud. Par for your course. 3) I didn't make any kind of argument, let alone a common sense one, but okay...here's what you're basically saying. "If you want the economy opened up, regardless of whether it's done safely or not, you care more about money and profit than people's lives,." That's basically what you're saying, right? Okay...common sense time. You can't avoid airborne viruses. Fact. So staying home and "flattening the curve" accomplishes the goal of avoidance of overwhelming the medical system, but doesn't make the virus go away. We were buying time. We bought it. The medical system wasn't overwhelmed. We learn more about this thing every day, AND how to deal with it. Nobody doesn't know about this. Nobody doesn't know how to care for himself. Of course people are going to die. That's not preventable unless you really believe (and you might..you're capable) people should literally stay home until there's a vaccine. It's also not preventable if there IS a vaccine. People die of the flu every year. Where's your outrage? You think people who want things to open don't care about people's lives? I'd turn it around and say YOU don't care if people get abused. If they commit suicide. If their immune systems weaken because they're exposed to nothing (would you like an explanation on the human immune system? My guess is you could use it), they're more prone to catching other viruses and diseases, with more difficult medical outcomes. You don't care about that. You don't care about the victims of domestic abuse, or perhaps you haven't noticed the rise in cases? YOU don't care about peoples' livelihood nor their future. YOU don't care about the rise in poverty, unemployment, or addiction. YOU don't care about ruining the millions of lives you probably believe would be "saved" in order to maintain what amounts to a prison sentence for as long as you feel necessary. YOU have zero understanding of risk. Or zero tolerance. It seems you'd rather live in a bubble, protected by whatever moral high ground you think you own preventing a few deaths by THIS virus. I promise you....weakened immune systems will kill more by a factor of 50 than COVID will if we stay quarantined much longer. Quarantining doesn't solve the problem. It prolongs it so we can deal with it. I'll say this slowly for you. That's called......flattening the curve. Maybe you've heard the phrase? The goal of quarantine.....stay with me here......has never been to get rid of the virus. That is not how this works. So it IS possible when....with me still?....the curve is flattened....and it is....to re-start the economy so people.....stay with me....don't begin to die en masse by OTHER means directly related to prolonged quarantine. You will either have an a-ha moment or you'll continue in your blissful ignorance. If you're all about "saving even a single life!" go protest to lower speed limits to 10 MPH. Go eliminate alcohol, cigarettes, and fatty foods. Sleep every night with a new pillow. Avoid beaches. Avoid restaurants. OR...here's a thought. Educate yourself on the human immune system and evaluate the every day risks we all take. With a new virus? It does create a few new protocols. And you know what? Those won't be enough. Others will die. We haven't figured out yet how to prevent death from disease. So we deal with risk. We (here's another new word for you) mitigate it. But if you want to think "people don't care about peoples' lives en lieu of profits" there's no helping you. That is so incredibly elementary and lazy...there's no point in you even reading the above, let alone anything reasonable. Just go wrap yourself in bubble wrap with a straw poking out the top and we'll see you whenever IU loses a game so you can blame the coach or Fred Glass and tell me how wrong I am.

It's been out there for a while that Snopes has some biases and therefore some "facts" of its own. I really have no idea where to go for "whole truth" anymore. It sure as hell isn't anyplace in media.
-
You need to add Mike White ("Kong") to that list. He was going to "dominate." Also receiving votes : Tijan Jobe, Ben Allen, Guy-Marc Michele, Bawa Muniru, Marco Killingsworth, DeAndre Thomas, Cem Dinc, and of course.......Ivan Renko. God, has any school in the country compiled a list that bad of failed and over-hyped big men?

Next season's leader is going to be Brunk. It's in his DNA and it's in his work ethic. He'll be the vocal leader. Others (Durham, Phinisee, TJD) have leadership qualities, but they'll lead more by example. A team only needs one vocal guy and a bunch of others who work hard and lead with their actions. Indiana has all of that next season and I don't know that I see a weak link, to be honest.
