I'm not sure of what to think about these guys at all. I believe they are very good young men in life but not sure about winners on the court. Was at the NW game and during warm up it was joking around, shooting shots from half court and such. They just blew a 20 pt lead to a mediocre Iowa team and was embarrassed by one of their players in an interview afterwards. Kicked at home by a NW team that isn't outstanding at all. How about we put our nose down get pissed off and shut up. Get some grit and let our play speak instead. That is what winners do, they win and absolutely hate to lose. Maybe I'm old and just don't understand anymore.

Sometimes it's not so much growing up as it is just being busy in life. I was at the same point as the poster, busy with life, children, career etc. I'm retired now, widowed and it's something to keep myself occupied during the winter months so I guess you can say i'm regressing to being immature again and I'm comfortable with that.

I think you answered it when you said proven systems and cultures. Unfortunately we aren't there at the moment. I like everyone else here hopes we get there in the future. I'm not against bringing IU up to date at all but that won't make us elite but winning the big games consistently and deep runs in the tournament will. Until that happens we can keep dreaming.

But they may turn the ball over 23x oh wait we already did that. I do agree with giving them more playing time but not necessarily starting them. I think giving them minutes with the starters and not just at the end of the game with the end of the bench. We may need them in a game situation in the future and this would give them experience with the group. Would also help with the on court teaching as the experienced guys could instruct and correct in real time.

I'm afraid you are correct. Our recruiting will fall off as the results are coming. In game changes and adjustments are few and far between. At this point we should know that we will be double and triple teamed inside but very seldom can we make the adjustments needed. Surely we practice this? We have several very likable guys on our roster but no dogs/ hate to lose winners. No big game players and we sadly need at least one. X is the closest thing we have but his decision making is terrible at times. TJD doesn't rise to the occasion often, maybe we need him mad and playing with and edge but like many have said it's just not in him. Maybe JHS will rise to the challenge as he is early in his freshman year. Development hasn't happened as fast as it needs to on several players but Bates is showing some promising moments.
