Guess his tough love doesn't work for every youngster these days. And then there's Luke Appling.
-
One example would be Lynn Washington. He played two years for IU...1999 and 2000. Averaged less than 6 pts per game. 6'7" 230 lbs. Left IU and went to Japan where he played for something like 10 years. No, it wasn't the NBA, and he didn't make millions annually, but he made over 100k annually, which he invested back home. His housing and living expenses were all handled by his team. For a marginal college player he did pretty damn well... and he was good enough to be a perennial all star as well as being considered a legend in his Japanese pro league. **The key, ofc, is that you have to have the strength, guts, courage, faith, whatever you want to call it...to go overseas. Leaving home, strange language, strange culture, strange food...it's not easy. But it can be done...but it's not for everyone.

He'll be heading to UK, I would have to think. -
Jaren Handy commits to Indiana

HSN post states he's related to Fryfogle... as in cousins. -
He may be a good guy, but he's lacking something if all these young men aren't satisfied with their bb experience with him.
-
My guess is that with Antigua and the other new asst. coach from Illinois they'll be able to induce a PG to come to Lexingburg.
-
And why would IU want him?? He's not shown anything remotely remarkable in his relatively limited playing time at KY. He's completely average, IMO. I simply don't see a need or a good fit.
-
Maybe after five years he's ready for something else?
-
Yeah, well they aren't exactly Randy Wittman and Luke Recker. And no one ever said they were, but many often think that Indiana HS All Stars are going to be special...above average... really good players because, well...they are coming out of Indiana HS's. Yeah, they have their work cut out for them. JMHO.

He appears to be a pretty good shooter...from deep. Jimmy Rayl would approve. LOL

Hmmm....definitely some interesting ideas. -
Can you imagine how much s*** Dane has caught for that screwup over the years? LOL.
-
And isn't it great seeing Coach Fife in IU gear again....working with those young men!!!
-
Your thoughts about Matta's position may have just slipped into the "gray area" some have spoken of. Not sure working with the players is part of his job description or even allowed. But I truly am only passing along what others have said.

Expect it to be the same. I'm 71 and fully vaccinated with Moderna 1 & 2. My experience was soreness at the injection site and nothing else.

(2021) C Logan Duncomb to IU, to Winthrop

I'm hoping we're all going to be pleasantly surprised by this young man's work ethic, motor, knowledge of the game, willingness to be coached. He's a four year guy, who I believe will be a terrific team player. -
Rumor is that she's pregnant.
-
Yeah...maybe at another program! Yikes! Oh well.

Who's next? Boeheim? Krzyzewski? Izzo is 66....hmmm?
-
Is that a portal gray area??

Mike Woodson and His Coaching Staff

Jared has always been an avid fishing guy. -
My guess is Moser, being from Naperville, is happy coaching at Loyola and just stays there, especially if S Smart takes the Marquette position. He may realize that IU is a no win situation for him. Then again...if asked, he could easily jump, but it would be a mistake, I believe. JMHO

In some ways, this is what Kentucky has seen happening the last few years. Players unhappy about playing time and exposure leave. But I can imagine we will see more of this from college players for similar reasons. Obviously, Franklin's case is different than the Kentucky example. I doubt there's unhappiness about playing time.

This is going to be the new normal, I'm guessing. Kids with professional aspirations will be continually evaluating their personal situation from year to year. Transferring is easy...and a new piece to play in the recruiting game.

And he's a freshman! His brother is a sophomore. Now how long they stay at USC is the real question.
