I view Sheppard as a 2023 updated clone of Alford. Greater shooter and consummate team player. He might be a tad more athletic than Alford was.

My only question to be answered…is he a shooter? A good shooter? That’s all I care about.

I'm also not giving the coaching staff a pass after these games. Woodson has eyes and the experience to understand when something needs to change as a game is progressing. If he chooses to continue coaching these games in the manner he has then he's partially responsible for the outcome. I'm beginning to wonder how good he is as a teacher.

Good point! I knew he'd been a coordinator prior to IU... but still thought of him as a high school coach. Ofc, Notre Dame didn't waste time moving on from Gerry when it became obvious he wasn't going to lead them back to the land of milk and honey. No forty years wandering in the desert with him for ND.
