  1. I wonder if Roberts was the backup plan if both Fife and Lewis had declined an assistant job. It's certainly possible that Woody wanted one spot on the bench reserved for a former IU player.

Mike Woodson and His Coaching Staff

Let's hope it's more like 10-15 years down the road...

Mike Woodson and His Coaching Staff

Kenny Payne Michael Lewis Kenya Hunter If we have those three, Woodson has the best staff in the country and we should be a contender quick. Not sure how realistic Payne is now that he's in the NBA, and it sounds like there is a decent chance both Hunter and Roberts have already been retained.

    Player decisions

Sounds like Roberts and Hunter are recruiting like there is a good chance they will keep their jobs with the new coach.
  6. Let's take a look at the collective NBA resumes of current college coaches: Leonard Hamilton: 19-63 (.232), 1 season John Calipari: 72-112 (.391), 3 seasons, no playoff appearances Fred Hoiberg: 115-155 (.426), 4 seasons, 1 playoff appearance Erik Musselman 108-138 (.439), 3 seasons, no playoff appearances Rick Pitino: 192-220 (.466), 6 seasons, 2 playoff appearances, 1 playoff series win Mike Woodson 315-365 (.463), 9 seasons, 5 playoff appearances, 3 playoff series wins We've hit the jackpot boys... I can already see the 6th banner!
  7. On the other hand, you could also say that Woodson wouldn't even consider coming back to college unless he could coach at Indiana.
  8. Trying to summarize where we are at... We are reviewing quotes from our savior Brad, and parsing out the bradcrumbs to find their real hidden meaning. Mysterious dates are being predicted for when Brad will return to our homeland... I'm sure if these dates pass, we will come up with new dates. Our eternal enemy is the main stream media, who for some reason refuse to acknowledge all of our evidence that Brad is returning. Preach on Qoosiers... #wBRADg1wga

    General Coach Candidate News

Can someone explain to me how Calbert is a better candidate than Woodson? Other than being a better college player, their resumes aren't even close. Woodson steadily improved the Hawks for 6 straight years, and coached the Knicks to their best season in 20 years... both as a head coach. Woodson is pretty far down on my list, but I don't understand what Cheaney offers at all.

I think Woodson and Lewis is more realistic.
  11. How so? The US has won 6 of the last 7 Olympics, and the other competitive nations have rosters full of NBA players.
  12. Friends with Bill Simmons... most famous Celtics fan on earth.
  13. That's the first national guy... kind of hilarious that it's Dameshek.
  14. I'll just tell you that Brad IS a good guy. It's not just a theory.
  15. Danny Ainge is a mormon from Oregon... still might be a dick but the odds are lower.
  16. I think this quote from Titus sums it up: "You should quit your job if you cover basketball for a living and you think Brad Stevens is not considering this... You're going to look like a f***ing idiot."
  17. For those who questioned Titus, LISTEN and ENJOY... This man has our back and knows what Indiana basketball is. Titus Podcast

Those quotes are from an interview on some random Boston radio show that I'm pretty sure is mandated by the Celtics brass. If Brad Stevens is actually listening to Indiana but hasn't made his mind up, there is not a chance in hell that he tells anyone in the media that. There is an even smaller chance that he decides to break it to 2 hacks on a radio show. That story is just taking his quotes from the radio show and making it seem like it was some thought out statement that he published, which it absolutely was not.

He has a weird way of saying he's not interested in leaving Alabama... it kind of sounds to me like he might be interested in leaving Alabama.

If we are talking dream scenarios, how about Stevens with Beilein as a top assistant who can get things rolling while Brad finishes the NBA season out. Seems like Beilein just wants to work anyway, and it could reduce his recruiting burden.

    Archie. Miller. Fired.

It looks like the airline lost Crean's luggage and he had to ask Jeremiah April if he could borrow some clothes.

  24. This is kind of random... https://www.crimsonquarry.com/2020/8/3/21353163/mark-wahlberg-is-now-handing-out-iu-football-scholarships Is Mark Wahlberg actually an IU football fan? Why would a random celebrity with no apparent connection to Indiana torture themselves in this way? Did someone just go on Cameo and pay him to say this?

Coronavirus and Sports Only - PLEASE and THANK YOU

Interesting article on which basketball/football coaches have taken pay cuts at power 5 schools, and which haven't (yet). For the record, it appears both Archie Miller and Tom Allen have taken a pay cut, and I commend them for it. https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/29468590/some-not-all-coaches-share-colleges-burden-amid-coronavirus-pandemic
