  1. Refer back to OP for the numbers for the game (added prediction league link too).
  2. And now he and Vonleh share minutes... What a country! But no, I wish he'd declare he is quitting basketball and I never had to see him Lemon up another play.

    Hoosier Transfers and Recruiting Targets

No worries. We also have a thread for this but it tends to end up buried sometimes. If a mod not on a phone and teaching Sunday School wants to combine them... https://btownbanners.com/index.php?/topic/6201-Hoosier-Transfers-and-recruiting-targets%2E

Is Thomas Bryant a one and done?

Bad media deal and this year not being a good team keeps them off TV. It's a huge complaint of people who move away from Portland, they're just impossible to watch. Gordon has been injured so much he's been hard to follow, also not being on a star team doesn't help.   I hate Meyer Lemon and would prefer Vonleh got his minutes. Vonleh has made a ton of progress since the beginning of the year and looks better every game, he still has so much potential. Next year when we have some better pieces he'll get a lot more attention.    His story should still be a warning to TB though, until this year he was in a bad position without much hope to escape without being traded to a team who had a big need for a big. He's doing great now that he has a shot, but he would have been better off staying another year at least and avoiding the whole thing.

IU vs Minnesota Post Game Thread

Brutal brutal game but I didn't have to eat my words so can't beat that. After playing the actual worst team in the Big Ten the same way I should have know better. Glad to be 5-0! We're pretty much Iowa. Tanked our rating on kenpom. I think we dropped like 4 spots.

    Indiana vs Minnesota Game Thread

    I am embarrassed already.
  11. So, like, did basketball switch to a 16 game season and no body told me? Why do I have to keep waiting a week for games?   Minnesota is a bad team. There is no getting around it. They're 6-10 and expected to be 6-11 by the time we see them. They're good at stealing the ball and not turning it over, that's pretty much it.   But, we are at risk for a let-down game and anything can happen in the Barn, so I don't want to get overconfident here. There's no way Minnesota can actually finish the season 8-21 only beating Rutgers in conference play, so let's not be one of their surprising upsets.   The numbers (Minnesota still has a game at Nebraska before we play them):   [attachment=3190:2.PNG]   Related links:   Prediction League: https://btownbanners.com/topic/9029-prediction-league-game-18-week-10-iu-vs-minnesota-011616/   Pick'ems: https://btownbanners.com/index.php?app=pickems&do=games&pid=12&wid=165   All right, we have this up, let's let this fallow until 1 hour before game time when hopefully one of us remembers to close the thread and link the game thread. I may be at my daughter's soccer practice for the start.

Is Thomas Bryant a one and done?

Vonleh is the starting power forward on a middle of the pack team in the West. He's not even on the bench much less the end.
  13. I just meant whomever said it, I didn't want people to think this kid is another Priller because they didn't read the article.
  14. Tall relative to you at least, he's listed at 6'4, so other than Yogi he's about the same size as the shortest scholarship players.

    Manager added to roster

Here are two articles confirming he did exist at some point.   http://thetimes24-7.com/main.asp?SectionID=2&SubSectionID=143&ArticleID=8307&TM=44001   http://www.thetowntalk.com/story/sports/preps/recruiting-central/2013/07/18/hoosier-basketball-magazine-top-100-list/2563547/   I like his name. It makes me sound like I have a lisp.

John Gruden has the greatest job in the world. Why would he ever leave it? I'd do his job for a 1/10 of his take home.   That's sad about North Philly. It's the tough part, it's better for the city's economy to gentrify but it's hard not to feel bad for everyone uprooted from where they've lived because they couldn't make rent anymore. We actually went deeper into the west side to go to ShopRite, never had problems there. Even having the car robbed I rarely felt unsafe, though when we walked around we usually had our dog who cleared the street because he was huge. People would get in their yards and close the gate as we approached. A little girl while we were getting ice cream at Philly Flavors yelled in an adorable West Philly accent "He look like he gon' bite my heeeaaad off!" We went to church in Fishtown for awhile so I know it well. Good to hear it's coming up, not super suprising since that's where all the hipsters we knew lived. And I'm pretty sure that's where the giant D20 die was, but I might be turned around. So, it had the feel of a neighborhood getting younger.    The dog:[attachment=3212:IMGP0015.jpg]   I grew up on the east coast, so I'm definitely ruder than people out here and have a completely different attitude. I'm always surprised at how true those stereotypes are. The coldness of New York is my game, just ignore me and let me walk to where I'm going. People in Philly would throw batteries at Santa Claus.   Anyway... The second games are going to be better all weekend I bet. I think the Pats whip the Chiefs (just like for the last 200 years) and Petey Satan loses to the almost undefeated pretty handily.

    2016 NFL Playoffs Thread

Definitely familiar. I lived on the other side of the Schuylkill for a spell, straight down Spring Garden I think. Though, I don't remember what my address was. I was the last step before West Philly (in the not-so-safe Will Smith kind of way). If you crossed my street you'd be in the bad area. Car broken into twice. Drexel police biked past us but I think we were just outside their watch zone.   Worst place my wife and I have ever lived. We were dirt poor newly weds and everyone was just so mean. It was not my first time spending an extended amount of time in a major city, but I have never encountered people as casually mean as Philadelphians. My wife was yelled at and lectured for taking too long to pay for her breakfast at convenience store and that's just the most major memory.   I had a big history with Philly before we lived there because I have a lot of family from the southside (Italians) but living there was just so much worse than anything I'd remembered.   But, I'd be lying if I said I didn't crave L'Angelo or vainly search for Rita's or miss walking down to Savas for breakfast.   And living out here I miss the drivers. I may have hated Philly drivers when I was there, but I sure wish people where were as anxious to get where they were going.

Wait, Philly still hasn't found a coach? I was out of the loop the last couple days and really figured they had.   Double wait, you're in Philly? What area?     If the last season and the decade of darkness didn't prepare you for 5 years of mediocrity then I don't know what will.   And it's not the worst possible choice. I mean, Jim Tomsula still doesn't have a job. And Mangini. And Geep Chryst. And Mike Singletary is probably available.   Maybe between Shanahan and Kelly it's the worst choice, but in the wide world of coaching?   It doesn't matter anyway, as long as Baalke is GM and York is the owner we're relatively doomed no matter what.

    2016 NFL Playoffs Thread

I'm not looking for the correct general NFL thread.   The Niners have hired Chip Kelly.   I don't know how to feel at the moment about the hire. I don't think it was a great one, but he'll be entertaining at least. A good OC and DC could change my mind.    Better than Tomsula.
