  1. I think you're probably right. And if you're going to let down and have to play a closer game, PSU is a good choice to do it against. Probably a high single digit victory like @Minnesota.

    Indiana @ Michigan Post-Game Thread

Anyone know the NCAA record for largest run while holding the opponent scoreless in conference play?   I know the record for FG% is 74% (TB is still just barely beating it).    They don't measure it by only conference play:   SCORING RUN VS. A DIVISION I OPPONENT 39-0—Oklahoma vs. Weber St., Dec. 22, 2014 (led 10-4 with 13:23 left in the first half and run ended at 49-4 at 1:53)   Wow, that would have been just unlikely. Well, the team last night would have done that against Weber State.

As I'm sure no one noticed, I was away for pretty much the entire game yesterday. But, I watched it from tip, what ended up happening was the kid was still awake and I was fixing her dinner for oh, about the first 5-7 minutes of the game.   Then, we had a timeout and I sat down on the edge of the couch in an uncomfortable but quick response without losing sight of the TV spot.   Spent right up until Burton took the court in that spot because everything I know about sports said if I sat anywhere else then it would be our downfall.   So, I hear you. Better position to be in than you, but I hear you.

Every time I think this team has hit it's ceiling it keeps on busting through.

I can tell it's really important to you to cultivate your "accurate harbinger of doom" moniker, so I'll just let you have it. I hope you keep finding the joy in our poor play though, it has to be at least as good for your heart health as honey-nut cheerios.

There were more picks for Wisconsin than any other team we've faced except Duke.

Ugh. I am tired of losing targets at the last minute to University of Indiana. They are just so darned efficient at poaching our guys!

I'm surprised you're willing to already count as a loss a game against a statistically similar team dealing with injury/depth issues. Especially, so confident in the loss as to be surprised other people might think we can win.    I guess other people must differ in the total lack of faith and believe in the team they support.

9 pm games are the best. I have my whack-a-wolverine shirt on under my work shirt and don't have to sneak out early to catch the tip. A nice, rational game time.

    The Iowa Cauceyes

The GOP pick wasn't exciting (and the GOP pick is always meaningless in Iowa) and the Dems were (and still are) in a statistical dead heat late into the night. Not much to talk about with that.   But so, Cruz, Trump, Rubio, Interesting top-3. And then statistical deadheats hunh? If Bernie can't carry Iowa which is 91% white and exit polling indicates his popularity was highest with young, poorer, whites then what will the southern states look like for him?   And Trump seems to poll much better than he can turn out votes with Trump picking up 5 fewer points and Cruz picking up those points. Rubio seems to have established himself very well and picked up the voters from every other candidate. It will be a three horse + Carson for some reason race after this.   Democratic polls projected the race only a point or two more spread than it turned out to be, which is fair because statistical ties are very difficult to predict. That will put a lot of pressure on Sanders to step up his game in the places he isn't polling well.
  14. Michigan has one of the most interesting histories of a major state school. When schools say they're "the Harvard of the midwest" or anything like that, they're just fronting on Michigan's game.   JFK called himself "a graduate of the Michigan of the East, Harvard University" - 75 No, but I mean, we're cool too I guess - 81

Indiana v. Minnesota - Post Game Thread

Well, a cold streak is actually the only problem sitting on the bench can't cure. Making enough baskets to restore confidence in his shot is the cure.   Luckily for him, everyone seems to have forgotten the open 3 he missed at Wisconsin in the final minutes, so at least he isn't going to be reliving that on those open looks.
  18. That was almost embarrassing.

I dunno. I'm just reporting what CBS alerted me. They usually focus on coaches, but just AP sounds likely too. 167 polls is definitely not 8 years now that I took even a second to think about it, so you're almost certainly right.

Which is apparently 167 polls.   Wowzers.

IUBB Pick'ems Game #23 vs. Michigan

Cool, makes the most sense that way, otherwise you're halfway there by halftime almost no matter (just on use-it-or-lose-its).
  23. I think Brass Cannon was saying he believes Izzo would have found a way to correct the problem, not given up on him (correct me if I'm wrong BC).   Generally, I agree Troy's problem is coaching (which is why I continue to think he's a first round pick). Whether it's how he's being coached, what is being said, who is coaching him, I don't know.   Ultimately, you either choose to believe Troy is too low-IQ to ever learn or he's not being taught properly. I think the latter is more likely. I don't know why whatever current coaching is not working, but it obviously isn't. It's a shame too, he's dripping with raw athleticism and talent but it seems like he's going to be raw until he finds someone who connects with him in the right way to coach him up into the player he can be.

IUBB Pick'ems Game #23 vs. Michigan

Clarification required:   Over/Under 3.5 timeouts used?   I should have asked this last time, but is the question asking timeouts used total or by Indiana?

Thanks Duke, meant to make one yesterday, spaced on it.   Prediction league: https://btownbanners.com/topic/9152-prediction-league-game-23-week-13-iu-vs-michigan-020216/#entry238590   Pick'ems: https://btownbanners.com/topic/9162-iubb-pickems-game-23-vs-michigan/#entry238903   The numbers:   [attachment=3332:9.PNG] [attachment=3331:8.PNG]   KenPom sees us losing by 3. The game is unwinnable if the team from @Wisco and v. Minnesota shows up. The game will be a blast if the team from the prior 3 games shows up.
