It may inspire whomever is overseeing his probation to administer one of their own, but on it's own it shouldn't affect anything.  I mentioned in another thread that I was going to write about Crean's contract from a legal perspective, but now i want to give this a day or two to percolate. I did not expect another big thing like this so quickly. The short version is, yes, I think that with this there is likely "cause". I can't imagine what will happen to the program if it's exercised, but a lot of the "grey" that I would have wiggled in is gone.

That's not an option for all of us! My first game this season will be Dec 22 if I can get tickets. I know New Orleans is a marquee matchup. And that'll be it until post-season probably. The team should schedule a home and away with all the schools near me. But, I totally agree. I would always buy tickets whenever they were under $20. I would spend $10 on a six pack to watch with friends anyway, might as well go.

I assume you're replying to my post in the "season prediction" thread when you mentioned the contract and I said:   Where, I didn't defend anyone or say I didn't believe anything, I asked if you knew where I could look at the contract rather than relying on third-party accounts. I found it this morning (his original, I can't find the extension if it changed any terms) on Inside the Hall and started a post about it that I haven't finished because I need to focus on paying work first. All that having been said, in response to this, Dakich isn't someone "in the know" about Crean's contract clauses more than any other radio or television personality. He has no better than a layman's understanding of a complicated topic and even he wasn't saying that the contract was definitely broken. If I didn't believe that the contract provided "cause" in this case, no amount of laymen reporters saying that it does based on nothing but their feelings toward the matter would change my mind. This is exactly the problem with reporting in the general media (which, I should know, I did the Ernie Pyle and then journalist thing). Just remember the Gell-Mann Amnesia effect.

Do they? Is any of the contract publically discoverable since he is a state employee? I'm pretty curious what constitutes "cause"

I don't know what to tell you. In Wilson's halftime interview Wilson himself said that Coleman was benched for the fumble and that it has been a longtime rule that you're benched when you fumble.

What? Did you mean to quote my post? The announcers didn't say anything, Coach Wilson said it either going into the locker room or coming out of it. 

According to Wilson, because the rule is that players sit after a fumble.

Seriously, one of the worst games I've ever seen. Both teams were competing to see who could be the worst team, we just happened to do it better. Michigan is as bad as advertised, we were just worse. It's a real bummer, we could have had it this year.

And no on-side kick? Same thing. We aren't going to win most likely, but at least make an effort. What's the worst that can happen?

Thanks for not using a thread for support of our players for your views. Let's focus. I feel for them both. It's awful to be in either position, I hope Devin has a swift recovery. I know the longer he is in pain from this, the worse the both of them, and the entire team is going to suffer. It's not easy to be in situations where you cause people you really care about to be hurt.

I've been around IU a long time. It's a sad day when people expect you to be positive about our football team. Also, I can't believe how bad we are. This is one of the worst games of football I've ever watched. For everyone. 

People were really hard on me last week for saying we weren't going to make a bowl for sure this year. Can I start saying it again?

This is a little off-topic, but related to the SU angle. In anticipation of possible sanctions some SU fans are suggesting leaving the NCAA all together. This is not a joke.

    But, even without the transfer stuff, then sure. On pure numbers we're in the same scholly situation as SU if they don't lose any. But, no one is worried about their numbers and adding TB if they don't lose any. I don't see any reason for us to worry with the same numbers and no risk of losing.
