(2019) SF Keion Brooks Jr. to Kentucky
pumpfake replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
It looks like something you'd see at a UI game. Good thing they aren't involved in the recruitment of Keion or else some would see it a sign he's heading to C-U. -
(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
pumpfake replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yea, from what I could tell he has 4 predictions and they were all players to Vanderbilt. I'm not sure what makes him an 'expert' rather than just a VU fan. He's the 'Hoosier Guy' of Vanderbilt it would seem. Maybe we should lobby to get our "Guy" a crystal ball vote! -

In addition to the other comments, perhaps 'master recruiter' Garland is no longer friends with Romeo because he isn't going to VU. -
This past season I subscribed to PS Vue so that I could get ESPN, FSN, and BTN (I am a "cord cutter") and it generally worked pretty well. One thing I found was that the B10 games on the BTN app often had mediocre picture quality, but I could watch those same games on the Fox Sports app (Fox carried the BTN games) with a much better picture. Does anybody know if you can watch the BTN games on Fox Sports without having access to BTN? I believe there may be an option or two to purchase a package with Fox Sports that doesn't include BTN.

It would be nice if you could purchase streaming access without already having some form of cable or satellite.

I hadn't even thought about that. There sure are a lot of moving parts in play right now.

Juwan Morgan RETURNING For Senior Season
pumpfake replied to Cheaney40's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Archie's statement about "what he needs to work on" seems to suggest that he'll be back next year. Whatever the case, I wish nothing but the best for Juwan Morgan. -

And you can bet your bippy if Romeo were considering them, they'd all be slobbering on as much as we are -

Yup, likely a bit of 'projecting' going on with them. Truth be told, even with Romeo, nothing is guaranteed as far as tourney success goes but the larger offense I took is the disregard for the rest of the team. I think the best sign that we have our coach is when I saw someone post on that same thread that Archie underachieved last year and is the worst among the 3 (not sure if they meant VU, KU, and IU or the past 3 IU coaches). The guy (a PU poster) that suggested we were in good shape with Brooks & TJD along with getting the 3 best players from Indiana for '18 was (predictably) then accused of being an IU fan. -
(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
pumpfake replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
With things settling down a bit today, I did some outside browsing and found a couple of amusing items: 1. Apparently, according to collective basketball expertise at Gold&Black, even with Romeo our ceiling next year will only be the s16 and we really don't have any kind of recruiting momentum. This one really "got my dobber down", LOL. 2. A Vandy writer is genuinely concerned for Romeo's safety at his "announcement ceremony". Because the UK fans have clued them in on how violent we become, selecting VU or KU might cause a riot and threaten Romeo's well-being. (2019) PF Trayce Jackson-Davis to INDIANA
pumpfake replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I can see that. One thing that can occur as soon as he (any player) arrives on campus is the nutrition and conditioning part of it. Strength seems to be something that takes a combination of time and physical maturity. -

Just like almost every freshman, I think Trayce will reap great benefit under Clif Marshall's tutelage. -

Understandable. We're in our "refractory period" today. -

Still catching up since last night, but I don't know if I've ever seen a single post garner 43 likes. -

There's a backlog at the CandyStripe Warmup Company, they can't ship out the new uniforms until the 27th..... -

Yea, that was just part of what made that post so silly. I seem to remember that Irish guy spouting some goofy stuff back in the EJ controversy days. -

The vaunted "House of Paign" (now part of 247). https://247sports.com/college/illinois/Board/103853/Contents/Is-it-too-late-to-get-in-on-Romeo-Langford-117223408 -
(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
pumpfake replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
So basically it boils down to: 1. Be a part of a really good freshman class (I still don't know who the 4th "fantastic" player would be). 2. Play for a coach that played in the NBA for a short time. 3. Play in one of the top 5 or 6 conferences in CBB All are positives for VU, but nothing that could outweigh what IU or KU offer. Honestly, the only real appeal I've ever seen for Romeo to play at VU is to play with two other burger boys (albeit on an otherwise lackluster team). -
I just had a brief browse at the KU scout board. Wow, a lot of arrogance, ignorance, and denial over there. Had IU been named in the FBI probe rather than KU, we'd have been in meltdown mode (justifiably) - yet they have posters who believe it will have no effect on Romeo's decision (it may or may not, but it's certainly possible) Secondly, I found an article out of Louisville about some more connection to the Addidas scheme: https://www.courier-journal.com/story/sports/college/louisville/2018/04/11/fbi-louisville-kansas-nc-state-adidas/505741002/

(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS
pumpfake replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Oh, oh. We might have a new competitor for Romeo... I've been perusing several non-IU boards and see that a notorious (and often ridiculous) poster on the Illinois board is suggesting that they might be able to get involved now that Kansas is out of it. -
I have to think it helps in the Romeo sweepstakes. Also, still a long shot, but maybe this will move us up a notch on the Matthew Hurt list.

(2018) PF Jake Forrester to IU
pumpfake replied to Class of '66 Old Fart's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I think it's possible Jake comes in and has a season not too different from the one Smith had this year. He may not get as many minutes because the roster will be stronger this coming season, but he will likely start off somewhat lost and develop throughout the season. Hopefully, we'll have some games where Archie will be able to bring in the 'green' players with a comfortable lead. Bottom line to me is that Jake has the potential and Archie and staff know how to develop it. -

Probably a stretch, but could wind of these revelations have influenced the decisions of the two KU players to enter the draft (i.e. get out of Dodge)? Also, don't look now but we're barreling in on 600 pages!
