What depth chart would you like to see now?
bnkepner replied to FindEndNow's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I just can't Colin starting. I think he works perfectly as energy off the bench. He brings good basketball IQ but doesn't seem to have the it factor to be a starter and getting big time minutes. Too inconsistent for that. I got nothing against Colin. I like what he brings to the table as a role player bringing energy off the bench. -
The Devin Ebanks and Terrell Holloway situation is when a player commits but the coach they committed to leaves, the players are released from their LOI and allowed to sign somewhere else. That is still allowed but thats a whole different story than what happened to Hanner, who was here for multiple years. I for one don't feel sorry for Hanner. He should've learned after his first incident. Thats a whole other topic though

UM Graduate Transfer Max Bielfeldt To IU
bnkepner replied to rebelhoosier848891's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
5 points and a handful of rebounds is a lot more than we could rely on Hanner for game in and game out. I think Max will add a lot more on D than Hanner (tried to take a charge every play and bit on every pump fake). -
Every player gets a release from the school so that they can transfer, but unless you have graduated you have to sit out a year.

I think the admin is completely find with mediocrity because the University and the program are still making money. So to them the constant flow of cash = success. I think IU will do really good this year but it is inevitable that Crean gets fired here in the next couple years.

Those analytic charts go WAY back. I was just watching the Big Ten documentary on the 87 championship team and even Knight was talking about that same stat.

Historic turn around for defense?
bnkepner replied to FindEndNow's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
All TB has to do is play as good as D as Vonleh. Vonleh's year here we were in the top 50 defensively. I think TB will come in playing a lot better than what Vonleh came in doing. From the few high school games Ive seen of Thomas Bryant he plays a lot more passionately and "hungry" than Vonleh ever did. -

And the Minnesota Timberwolves are as well -
All Hanner's mix tapes showed was him dunking. Maker's show him handling the ball, passing, his shooting ability, driving, and of course dunking. There is a lot more depth to Maker's mix tapes. I don't expect "the second coming" either but his fundamentals are up there as well.

With Troy I tend to lump decision making and ball handling in the same category so I definitely agree with you

Id rather have Troy working on his ball handling than his 3pt shooting. We don't need him to shoot threes, we have plenty of players who can

A year of experience will help the guys this year plus adding Bryant in the middle -
Historic turn around for defense?
bnkepner replied to FindEndNow's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Two years ago (the year Vonleh was here) we were a top 50 defensive team according to Pomeroy. That team with Vonleh was WAY less talented than last year's team. The difference? A defensive minded big man to clog the middle. Of course our wings weren't good defensively last year but adding a big man as a second line REALLY helps. It's like having a good secondary in football. You could have the best or worst D line but if you have a good secondary it makes a big difference, and vice versa. -
T Shirt idea for when he commits!

Woodson was talking about Morgan playing the 4 not OG….

http://zagsblog.com/articles/indiana-arizona-state-talk-most-with-thon-makers-guardian/#more-135275 Sounds like a good deal. If he started in December he would be here at least a year and 1/2. I know a lot of the media has seemed to be down on him but I still think he would come in and be a difference maker

UM Graduate Transfer Max Bielfeldt To IU
bnkepner replied to rebelhoosier848891's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Not to start anything, but since when are we rivals with Michigan? I don't really view that as a rivalry. Maybe in the year we were fighting with them to win the Big Ten but I've never seen IU vs Michigan as a rivalry -
Don't think it matters if he passed the test or not. How many chances does someone deserve? There are a lot of things that go on that us fans don't know of. This could have been the last domino in the chain for Crean

Potential replacements for 2015-2016

I've read that the staff has reached out to Alonzo Nelson-Ododa and to Noah Dickerson (former Florida commit) -

So IU rounds up and some fans round down haha. (Ex. Oladipo measured in at a little over 6'4" at the NBA combine the year he was drafted) -
He is allowed to now. Only allowed to talk about signed players. A few weeks back Izzo talked about how they have lost players because of shady business with handlers/agents/etc. so I'll chalk this up to that as well

Thanks, Kentucky for revealing yourself
bnkepner replied to Dalton26's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Billy Donovan isn't the best example because he of his incident with the Orlando Magic a few years back. Plus Cal has already coached in the NBA before. -
Yep? All the articles Ive read say that he has only verbally committed. Nothing saying that he signed anything

I think this last year showed that we shouldn't count people out before the season starts. We had two freshman start and Holt played really good minutes for us. Holt was forced into the lineup early because of injuries/suspensions but as of now, OG and Morgan will be forced into quick playing time because of DD and HMP being kicked off the team.
-
I could see HMP getting interest but there is still a question if Davis will even play again. I don't see anyone taking a risk on him. Im not sure he got much interest from anyone else outside of IU in high school. From everyone I can find online, he only had offers from IU, Purdue, and Illinois
