Infamous Bob Knight locker room speech

I could've sworn this was from the season on the brink era

    Devin Davis redshirting a season?

    Thanks for the info!

    Stan and Troy

I definitely agree that it is not called for to get personal about players. It was especially this summer when Zeisloft, Priller, Holt, April, and Max signed and people just went nuts on them. I just don't think its necessary. Complaining and attacking players online isn't going to get the players kicked off the team

    Devin Davis redshirting a season?

I was honestly curious about the situation. I wasn't trying to say anything negative. I think we would all be lying if we didn't agree that athletes get more leeway than regular students in school. I've seen it a million times over and I go to a school with mid major athletes so I could only imagine how it is at high D1. Thats nothing negative against the athletes themselves. Its the nature of the beast. But by your explanation it sounds like DD will still just received an Incomplete his classes from this semester. Doesn't count against a student negatively or anything. You just get an incomplete if you withdraw after the the withdrawal period ends.  I might have misread your last statement, I sensed some heavy sarcasm when I honestly was just curious. Sorry if I misread or misunderstood what you meant.

    Devin Davis redshirting a season?

My post said "I also wonder how this is all working out with his schooling. He has missed half a semester. Just really curious how they are going to work that out."     May to have question marks but they are questions

    Devin Davis redshirting a season?

I was just honestly curious about how it worked out because I heard about the grandparents dying and how it worked it my school. It was just a question. No reason to be a jerk about it

    Next year's back court...

Well I mean it could happen but I just don't see it happening. We don't know what kind of financial background some players come from. Most kids in college wouldn't be able to afford it if they weren't on scholarship.  Every year we definitely have a problem with over signing (we aren't the only school) but I seen tons of players names be thrown out there that they could pay their own way. I remember people talking about Zeller paying his own way at one point, Yogi, etc. If it was something that was more common in college sports I could definitely see it happening here, but in all reality it isn't common. I personally don't see it happening here. Thats my opinion. No reason to get shorts in a knot :)

I also wonder how this is all working out with his schooling. He has missed half a semester. Just really curious how they are going to work that out. He is lucky that he is an athlete and on scholarship, if he was a regular student he would've been kicked to the curb already. Im in college right now and know of a student who just had a grandparent pass away and had to go to the other side of the country for the funeral and whatnot and was going to miss finals, the school said they would just have to take an incomplete for the whole semester, messed up

    Next year's back court...

This idea of having players pay their own way is always thrown out there. Like every year but it hardly ever happens and won't happen here at IU with Zeisloft
  10.   Its really no different from starting Yogi, JBJ and RJ and subbing in NZ. They have RJ slide over and take over ball handling duties. Thats already happening every game.

    Next year's back court...

I do agree with everything here but its a longshot to just dream that a "big recruit" for next year is suddenly going to pop up. Right now we are only recruiting Thomas Bryant for next year. There aren't a whole lot of "big recruits" for next year that aren't signed somewhere else already. If only landing a "big recruit" was as easy as some people make it sound on this board

    JaQuan Lyle off the board

The wheels were falling off during the last stretch of that season.

    Please go away, Mr. Emmert

I think part of the theory is interesting. Maybe have more rounds of the NBA draft and allow them to pick college players and then have the college kids decide if they are going pro or staying. Larry Bird was drafted by the Celtics while still at Indiana St and chose to finish out the year and then sign. If the NBA teams can draft players and have their rights I think it works for both sides. I am honestly better off with the idea of having a plan where kids can leave straight after high school but if they choose to go to college to have to stay at least 2 or 3 years. I don't see either side making much progress anytime soon though. Each side only cares about how they are going to make money. The NBA and the NCAA could care less about the players, its all about the money to them

Harrell is a projected lottery pick. Heck he was a projected lottery pick last year

I just laugh now at all the people saying Troy was a shoe in lottery pick for next years draft. Not by a long shot

    Stan and Troy

Troy is responsible for his own decisions as well. They are adults and should be held accountable for their own mistakes. I get tired of people putting the blame on other players or the coaching staff when these adult players are making their own mistakes. Its the world we live in today, no one wants to take responsibility for their own actions. They always want to blame others

No reason to curse at me. If you can't discuss a sport in a civil manner you have no reason to be here. Really uncalled for

IU vs Louisville Post Game Thread

I definitely didn't see that as a 20 point loss. It was pretty close all game. If we compete like that the rest of the season, I still say we can play with ANYONE in the big ten. Especially after seeing a media favorite in Michigan get beat by back to back cupcakes

    Stan and Troy

Of course, no matter what happens , when we lose, he gets the blame. If we win , he never gets credit though. Its gotten old

    Stan and Troy

According to the box score Troy only had 3 turnovers but he definitely had many more than that. His problem is that he tried to finish in traffic and he honestly can. He gets the ball and tries to take it the length of the court and throws up some crazy shot. Stan's problem is that besides driving the ball, he can't do much else. He can really handle the ball too well, he can't seem to finish at the rim, he can't shoot. Heck I haven't even been impressed by his D this year. Stan kind of seems to have Jeremy Hollowell syndrome. His body language just looks like he doesn't care that much. On a team filled with freshman we really need these two to step up and so far they haven't at all.

I think he has 4 or 5 turnovers by himself. He has yet to play smart this year. Once he gets going with the ball he reminds me of the kid from Mighty Ducks who is the fastest skater on the team but doesn't know how to come to a stop!
