I disagree. There are programs that are in just as much hot water and stay in contention for 5 stars

DraftExpress Rankings: Top 100 Prospects
bnkepner replied to bnkepner's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Yogi's height is the only thing holding him back on this list. I disagree on Troy and JBJ though. Everyone needs shooting in the NBA. The NBA has reverted back to a shooter's league in the last couple of years. Everyone is spending big bucks on shooting. Troy's athleticism are amazing, but players like him are a dime a dozen. He can dunk it but he doesn't defend well and can't shoot the ball. Don't get me wrong I love having Troy on our team, but as far as potential goes I think a shooter like Blackmon Jr means more to an NBA squad. I can't say that I agree with this list though, there are some really odd rankings. They have Cliff Alexander ranked int he top 20 and the kid has really done nothing for Kansas this year. -
I'm not saying you push them out the door, but when it comes down it kids would rather play at a smaller school than be part of the bench mob. Look at Jurkin. He wanted to play and thought he was ready, coaching staff didn't think so , so he transferred. Im not saying that is how it is going to go with April/Priller but if they were working hard enough they would be in the game. Ryan Burton played last night because he is tough and he works hard. This situation where a kid realizes he isn't going to get playing time he thinks he deserves and transfers out is old news, its nothing new at all and it happens all over the country

I don't see what the big deal is honestly. We tried with the two of them and it doesn't look like they will add much. I doubt we see them next year. Not saying I want them gone but we have two players coming in and two have to go so Im just looking at the obvious. We took a one year risk on two guys. I don't see it as a big deal

Hoosiers toughest stretch due to start Sunday
bnkepner replied to HoosierTrav's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
All we have to do to win at Purdue is drive it at their bigs. Haas and Hammons both have a terrible time with foul trouble. In one of their recent games both were on the bench late with 4 fouls a piece. -

Always a good night when IU wins and a top team like Duke gets beat!

As far as offense I feel like we;ve seen the same offense from Davis, Sampson, and Crean. The only reason Sampson had any success here was because of Gordon. If all else failed in the offense they could pass the ball to EJ and he would make something happen.

Im sorry to say it, but this adds nothing to the conversation.

Okay he was arrested for an alcohol related issue, but his confidence and playing ability has absolutely NOTHING to do with alcohol. Come on people

Big Ten Record Prediction

But then again, Michigan doesn't have anywhere close to the shooters that we have -
Big Ten Record Prediction

Their bigs are decent, very prone to foul. I think our guards and wings will dominate them though. Also if we drive it at their bigs, they will foul easily -
Big Ten Coach of Year Prediction

Can we leave politics out of an Indiana Hoosiers Basketball board please -
When did he try to play like that and foul out? Perea has had games where he has been in foul trouble but he has never fouled out of a game here at IU. That video was all offense anyways. No disrespect but your post makes no sense. Apart from the free throw shooting. Could be he has bulked up too much and he is overpowering his free throws

Thinking out loud about our big man situation....
bnkepner replied to southsidehoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Most likely nothing to worry about. The staff has a tendency to have players where boots as a precaution. Word is that Vonleh and Hanner wore one basically all season last year -
Its almost painful to watch those Hanner videos. We have seen some small glimpses of that version of Hanner but if he had that confidence and swagger 24/7, we could be a top team. Hope we see that on a consistent basis before he graduates.

I just hope Anthony Lee and Trevor Thompson regret going to OSU, Lee is getting no playing time and Im guessing Thompson will have the same outlook next year. Lee would've started here most likely -
And in not so recent news, Michigan is terrible

Big Ten Freshman/6th Man Of Year Prediction
bnkepner replied to rebelhoosier848891's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I think Russell is getting all the attention too because OSU is one of the teams that ESPN loves to pump up. JBJ is a better scorer and a great rebounder plus I think his D is underrated. -
I don't know if it would have been a good "monster" though. The kids he was bringing in didn't seem to be strong in the character department. But it is amazing to go back and see how much success they had when you take into account the roster he had while he was here. But Eric Gordon continues to have injuries from carrying that team on his back during the whole year

Watching Caleb Swanigan
bnkepner replied to HoosierTrav's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
He was probably too young to really remember them winning the National Championship in 2000, they have made it to the final four twice and the championship game once more since then. -
I think it goes back even further than Sampson. I think the last few years of Davis killed us as a program. I mean if you look at where we stood nationally and in state as far as relationships with high school and AAU coaches. Indiana high school and AAU coaches couldnt stand him and it put a rift between Indiana high schools and Indiana University
-
I don't think that is 100 percent true. There are kids that want to come here one their own accord these days. Of course we still recruit hard but there are kids who want to be here and at other schools
-
So just rumors then because even the most recent recruiting articles on him have him receiving interest from both schools still

Watching Caleb Swanigan
bnkepner replied to HoosierTrav's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I really don't think it has anything to do with that at all. Honestly, some of us just grow up being a fan of a team no matter if they win or lose. Swanigan said from the beginning that he wanted to go to MSU, it was pretty much his dream school. Always had been. So they were clear #1 from day one. Its honestly that simple
