Well thats not honestly what I meant. Taken out of context yea it looks bad but I meant like out of all the high school guys right now he probably is. The kid can handle the ball like a point and bring the ball up and initiate offense. Definitely not the best ever (didn't mean that), but there haven't really been a lot like him.
-
Exactly! I usually have to take week long breaks from this place
-
But out of all those teams I think Iowa St is the only contender the rest seem overrated, especially Kansas
-
I understand wanting him over Thon but a few of things you name Thon Maker definitely does better. Thon is probably one of the best rim running big men to ever play the game honestly. He is basically Kevin Durant with post moves. I would be thrilled with either one but Bryant and Maker are two completely different players. I think either one takes us in the elite again. I just think landing Thon Maker would mark a huge shift in recruiting for us. If can land a top 5 recruit, I think we'll start landing more

Agreed, but Yogi also couldnt put on a 3pt show like JBJ did yesterday

Don't forget Baxters prestigious career of getting arrested for weapons charges haha

IU vs MD Pre-Game Thread

Is he from Indiana? His bios on ESPN and Maryland say that he is from Massachusetts?? -
Wins don't have to be impressive at all. The fact is that we've won. We've had our awkward moments but the key is that we are winning. Last years team had awkward moments and lost. Heck teams have awkward years and win championships(not saying thats going to happen this year). Wins are wins.
-
He is going to be an awesome stretch 4( probably 5 as well). Can play in the post and has a smooth looking shot. Wat was a pseudo stretch 4 for us but could really post up that well. Morgan will be great at the spot
-
Is this where we should start adding in if Cody, Vic, and Noah wouldn't have gone pro stuff? If Luke wouldn't have transferred? What if they would've given Alford the job instead of Mike Davis? What if AJ Moye wouldn't have blocked Boozer's shot? I could go on forever. This is the weakest argument because you could say that about EVERY GAME THAT IS EVER PLAYED!! hahah

Some "fans" are just really stupid. Yogi isn't going anywhere. I tell you one thing though is all of us fans need to support him more. I think Yogi gets thrown under the bus way too often. I still say he ends up as the most under appreciated player to play for IU when its all said and done

Alexander is not that great at all. For some reason he is really high up on the different mock drafts but all the games Ive seen of Kansas' this year, he is not that great honestly. Looks lost a lot of the time
-
Yeah Crean has made the same comment. If he throws Emmitt in there too much it would be throwing him to the wolves. I would like to see him get more minutes too in all reality. It will happen
-
The required reading comment was a joke… .. The level that most "fans" have gotten to with their complaining and going over the edge has just gotten old. It has seemed to escalate lately even though we are playing well.
-
This should be required reading for everyone on this site. Seems that most of the fan base is on the ledge about ready to jump. Well it seemed that way at least in the first 5 minutes of yesterdays game. Its gotten pretty ridiculous hahah
-
His shooting will be too valuable for that in a year or two. Emmitt and his wingspan are most likely a lot bigger than Max
-
When he came into the program, they said that the doctors had said that it looks like he hadn't stopped growing so I'm guessing he gets to be around 6'8" or 6"9"

Never!

(2016) SG Eron Gordon to Seton Hall

Ridiculous. They kid has gotten screwed by the IHSAA -
I don't think it was dumb. When you listen to the explanation as to why they tried to make the switch, it makes complete sense. I think the combo of trying to switch shooting hands, with the suspension and trouble he was in to begin the season all combined to wipe away his confidence. His driving has improved, but that has nothing to do with his shooting hand. He is still not shooting jumpers (and not trying thank goodness). I think it was worth it to try and change his shooting hand since his shot is so terrible. Im glad his confidence is back. Most of all I'm glad his shots at the rim are falling. His only problem before was that they weren't falling. He still drives a little awkward and whatnot but now the shots are falling

@Illinois game thread. 1pm Sunday

Like I said I know he isn't the best defender but seems like many weren't giving him credit that he seems to have picked up the intensity a bit. People have to remember he averaged about 30 ppg in high school and thats all his teams depended on him for. He was a scorer and that was it. This year is honestly the first time he has been counted on to play D -
Weren't we 9th seeds in all the bracketologies last week? I'm pretty sure we were

You don't understand zone defense I guess if you blame it all on JBJ. He sure isn't the best defender but his offense and his rebounding make up for it. -
IU vs Illinois Post Game Thread
bnkepner replied to JaybobHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
They are currently reshowing the game on the BIG ten network and Im watching it. I missed the second half today so I get to watch it now. But someone I noticed a lot this game and a lot during the Big Ten season is there seems to be an anit-IU bias on part of the commentators during the Big Ten season. During the Illinois game the commentators got REALLY caught up in the game it seems and anytime Illinois made a play or some kind of a run, the commentators were SCREAMING. When IU got hot or went on runs the commentators just kept going like normal. I also notice small things like they always talk about what the other team has to do to beat IU. Its never what IU has to do to win or beat the other team. Its always what the other team should do to beat Indiana. Just small things that just seem very strange when you take a step back and look at them -
I still don't see it. I would love for them to get in but I think they have to beat Maryland this week to get in
