(2015) C Thomas Bryant to IU

I didn't mention booing at all. I think the players are just as accountable as the coach honestly. The players look bored out there. Apart from Yogi, most seem to have to give up. Its more on Crean but a big part of it is on the players. If we can shoot we have a chance, but honestly that hasn't happened a lot this year. We can shoot, we our defense has gotten even worse as the year went on. I would never root against our team but if them losing means Crean leaving, its a hard battle haha

not usually how it works. You can't force a player to do anything

I could believe in an IU cinderella story if I saw some some of positive change or an effort to try something new this season. But we've lost 7 of 11 and the coaching staff hadn't tried anything new. Yogi and Stan ate still guarding big men, they are still switching between man to man and zone on the same play (in which at least 1 iu player doesn't know which defense they are in), still running thr weave at the top of the key ( I think it's been handed down from Davis to Sampson to Crean), still giving playing time to Stan Robinson and Max Hoetzel, no press till the last two minutes, etc. In any part of life, sports, work, etc you can't keep doing the same things over and over and expect a different result. That's why I've lost hope in Crean. We had all these same problems last year and they weren't dealt with

I think its pretty easy to see where we will lose two players. I don't like throwing players under the bus but if April and Priller could really bring something to the table, they would be playing…. Not sure where the third comes from. If Bryant commits, that means Crean has it all figured out. Maybe Robinson? Maybe someone to the NBA? Maybe Devin Davis doesn't come back? Who knows where it will come, but for a talent like Bryant, you have to make a spot for him
  5. The only thing is, he hasn't really been climbing up draft boards. He has been as a second round pick all year. I would understand the hype if he was climbing up the boards, but it simply isn't the case...
  6. I will always show my support for the team but Ive just lost faith in Crean over this last half of the season. I understand losing a few close games, but we have lost the last 7 of 11 and we have lost the games the exact same way. I haven't seen any hint of change and I haven't seen coach Crean try to do anything different. Albert Einstein once said "Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results". Thats what has been going on here over the season. Doing the same thing over and over and expecting us to win even though the same efforts have not warranted a win. Im not a basketball coach, Im a fan but it just gets frustrating we went through the same experience and after a great start this year it has slowly come back. The players do not look like they are buying into it either. There is no intensity on the faces of the players and the last few games it just seems like there is no effort. I would never boo or stop supporting the team but it is just disappointing.

Lets hope we can someone pull a victory out of our butts and that the results of the Syracuse investigation are as bad as people think.

    Potential fallout from coaching change

The only thing Im afraid of is that the administration and the university won't listen to the fans. Look at where we are now and compare it to Davis last few years. Are we in a better place than we were then? Not really. Same results. Crean doesn't have a lot going for him this year. We could still turn around and win a few more games, but he has shown over the last 11 games that he just flat out won't adapt and change things between games. Last night we were still running the same offensive and defensive sets that have made us lose 7 of the last 11 games. He doesn't have a lot of promise with his upcoming classes either. Sounds like he has started to rub recruits and high school coaches the wrong way. I just don't see much changing if he stays. But I think the University is satisfied with the mediocre level of play. Very sad. We need to do something as fans to let them know how we feel, but I just don't see how we can actually do that

We missed out on Sean Miller back when we signed Crean. I would be up for bringing in Archie as the coach this time around

Who is going to reach out and ask him. Coach Knight has no connections to anyone still here at IU and I honestly think he could care less about who coaches at IU. Sucks, but its mostly likely true that he could care less

    Potential fallout from coaching change

I think it all depends on who they bring in. Incoming recruits could want to play for someone if they know that 1) they will still get a lot of playing time and 2) that the team is going to be competitive. If we signed the right coach at the right time, we could still compete for some unsigned recruits for this upcoming season. Highly unlikely but it could happen if we get the right guy.

    Potential fallout from coaching change

Anyone with dreams of going to the NBA in a season or two (ei JBJ and Troy) won't risk sitting out a year so they won't transfer.  I still say if you bring in a big enough coach, players will stay. And with the money that we are paying Crean, we can get just about anybody
  15. What can we as fans even do to have our voice be heard?

Hoiberg is coaching at his alma mater and they are a top 20 team, theres no way he leaves for IU.

    Potential fallout from coaching change

If you are going to bring him in, you might as well keep Crean. It has to be a home run. For the money we are paying Crean, we can bring in a GREAT coach

    Iowa/IU Postgame Radio Show 3/3/15

I think Yogi is in a league of his own still. Troy has a LOOOOONNNG way to go. He has a good game or two then has a game like tonight when he continuously makes stupid mistakes at costly times

    Potential coaching change suggestions

Im not saying we have to get an elite coach, but a lot of names will get thrown out and if IU is gonna pay big money, they need a big time coach. I don't think we should go for a coach from one of these small schools that occasionally make a run. If we don't go for a game changer, we will be back here at the same crossroads in 5 years. We settled with Mike Davis, Sampson, and with Crean. We don't need to settle, we need to go out and fight for a coach.

Has to be a home run.

In a few years I would be all for this. He is MSU's head recruiter and I think he could do well but it would be a few years before he was ready probably.

You must not read other posts . I already have stated that I don't want Crean….

    Potential fallout from coaching change

Okay, we were ranked this year. Rankings don't mean crap Krueger made it to the final four in the 90s and made it to the sweet sixteen once in 2006-2007. Other than that, nothing spectacular. Unless we want to continue to fluctuate between not making the tournament and getting beat in the 1st round. If we are going to get rid of Crean, we need to go for a home run, and Krueger is nowhere near that
  24. bnkepner

    Potential fallout from coaching change

Kruger hasn't had much more success than Crean

Even the official report came out that it was Devin Davis' fault. If someone runs right out into oncoming traffic, its not the driver's fault
