This is the faith crusher for me. Over the last 12 game skid he hasn't made a single adjustment. How anyone can be fine with that, I don't understand. I have no faith that we will succeed with him as the coach because of this fact alone. We will continue to lose games because he never makes an adjustment. How can he promise anything better for the future with the same old worn out offense and 0 defense?

Yeah Wisconsin has played a good chunk of this season without their starting point guard
-
If there is a game on and he is calling it, I usually mute it or turn the channel. Him, Bilas, Raftery, amongst others
-
It was definitely sarcasm…..

Vitale also thinks the whole UNC mess has nothing to do with the basketball coaches/athletic department

Exactly what I have been thinking. They have only played 3 ranked teams all year and have barely scraped by against inferior teams. Overrated in my book

Is this the worst defensive team in IU history?
bnkepner replied to Banksyrules's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I think this whole thing where we got from zone to man-to-man and back is confusing to most of the players. I honestly don't think they get the concept and it shows when it seems like at least one player gets lost -
JBJ played better today. But Nick should be getting more minutes from JBJ/Rob/Stan
-
I find it funny that seemed like pulling teeth for the other players to look to get him the ball

That plus the madness the the beginning of the season

Yeah I agree with you. Enough is enough

There can be a disagreement about the team, the coach, etc without making remarks about the other person. If a poster wants to call out the other poster's opinion, that is fine, but there is never a reason to say something about the other person or say "i bet you are this type of person…" . In my case Ive only ever said anything back about another poster after they have already made some sort of statement towards me, not my opinion or viewpoint of the team, but towards me personally. Happened today. So you may want to read a little more before making a statement like you just did

No I think you hit the nail on the head. He doesn't want to seem like a homer so he tends to side with the opposing team often
-
No I understand that, but it takes a lot to actually get any praise from him. Its hard for me to explain typing it out but there are a lot of calls that should've gone Indiana's way and he seems to side with the opposition most of the time. He just seems to call Indiana's players out on a more personal level than on other teams. Not a big deal but its there if you listen haha

OT: NCAA penalizes Syracuse and Boeheim
bnkepner replied to HoosierReb01's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
And it was convenient that they got in trouble for everything starting a month after they won the championship with Carmelo Anthony. I also thought I remember seeing that Anthony shouldn't have qualified academically to even play that year -
Im tired of Dakich. He's grown on me a little bit more lately but if you listen to him call and IU vs. calling any other two teams, you can hear the difference. There is something, a little bitterness there, when he calls IUs games

Wish I could like this 1,000 times!

I think if you look at this last stretch where we have lost 8 of 12 really shows what Crean is all about. If I would've have seen some sort of adjustment from game to game then I would be on his side, but I feel like all 8 losses we have lost the games in the exact same way with no adjustment from game to game. -Switching in between a zone and man to man (I think it confuses us more than the other team) -No movement on offense -Players that have no purpose of being in the game getting playing time -Lack of effort from players on defense and on offense -The disappearance of anyone not named Yogi (or Nick over the last few games). I think the players need to be held accountable, but coach Crean has not tried to change one thing over this stretch and for that i have NO hope whatsoever that he can even recognize and execute any sort of adjustment. I honestly don't care if it costs us some recruits, he needs to go.

Compared to the the "new" guidelines for sanctions and discipline, they got off easy. I read one of ESPN writers saying that Boeheim should've at least been suspended for a whole season and they should've gotten more postseason bans. They were also supposed to lose more scholarships. -
I guess its not the negativity but over the past couple months the amount of personal attacks that are on this board are what drive people away. I left before rebel and have recently come back to hear some of the coaching rumors. Everyone gets upset when we lose, myself included. But when posters begin mocking and personally attacking other posters, thats when it gets ridiculous.

Worst defensive team and probably team that shows the least effort, at least over this last stretch of 12 games it seems like no one wants to be out there. Today was a better effort but doesn't change it -
No Im with you on that one. Im tired of not seeing any adjustments during or between games!
-
Rebel was growing tired of the negativity on here so with what has happened the last few weeks, he has probably avoided this place like the plague
-
Im not arguing anything with you or trying to win everything. You seem to be making this "argument" and competition out of thin air. We both aren't happy with where this team is out. No reason to take your frustrations out on another IU

Thats what I said all year last year and all this year. Dakich said it over and over again during the game. Why can't we try to press earlier in the game? Michigan St couldnt handle it when we pressed and played pressure D
