Williams is killing us -
I think what it comes down to is he just loves to push peoples buttons and be a little controversial and he does that job very well lol. I love listening to his radio show. He isn't my number one choice for commentators on a game but he isn't terrible either
-
I may be wrong but I think most of the pain we saw on his face was from frustration. I think he initially got really scared because of his past injury. He is lucky that he had a brace on his knee or it would've been A LOT worse. Initial reports that he didn't need any X rays or MRIs sound really good. Hoping we will have him back for the NCAA tournament

Purdue fans are going livid on Twitter. Its hilarious. Dakich isn't afraid to tell it like it is. He will call anyone out. Us IU fans know that first hand

Indiana vs Northwestern Post Game Thread

I definitely agree with you that a traditional lineup would be nice, but if you look at modern basketball the traditional lineup has kind of been tossed out the window. Basketball has changed. I think if we had a better big man than Hanner, this team would be fine rebounding and defensively. I just think the idea of having a 1,2,3,4 and 5 set in stone is something that fans focus on more than anything. Like I said, basketball has just changed. I I agree with you about Perea, but I don't ever see him becoming a stretch 4. I think he would get worked by 4s on D and he lacks even basic offensive skills. Im really hoping Troy works on his jumper. He worked on it all summer last summer and we haven't seen much improvement on it from last year. I like the offense that we have (when it works). Of having multiple guys who move, drive, and kick out to shooters without much clogging up the lane. It all just depends on having a big man who can handle himself down low and capable shooters outside. mean look at Maryland for example, they have a very similar lineup to what we have. I think it works for the majority of teams if you have a dependable big man. If we land Bryant and keep everyone I think you will see the same lineup that we have now but substituting Bryant for Perea. -
Exactly. But most likely they would opt out to be able to play somewhere

I mean we could label him as a 4 but basically he is going to be doing the same thing he does now. I think that is the best thing for him. He'll rebound and block shots. And if he can develop a jump shot. He could hit some shots at the free throw line and inwards -

I still think he is probably a year away from any of that. -

I don't know if I see him as a 4 next season. He still lacks any sort of offensive game outside of put backs. I think he does well down low, especially if he adds some weight and a few inches. -
I didn't like them. Granted I didn't see them up close but they looked like the hadn't been finished or something. Like they took them off the designer's dummy too soon. But when it comes down to it, they could wear anything and ,as long as they win, Id be fine with it

If you really think about it though anyone else that we recruited that ended up at major schools have only shown flashes. Pinson got hurt, but looked terrible before that. Goodluck has been decent on D for UNLV but not even a flash of offense. Isaiah Whitehead is a whole mess that we should be glad we "missed" on. Its not sour grapes, its just how it is. I still would have taken Goodluck though. He would've been good in the future

As much flack as we have given Crean lately, I give him credit for finally making an adjustment and sticking to man to man. Northwestern couldn't stick with us when we played them that way. Plus in the after game interview he stated that he gave the players a lot of rest coming into this and that is most likely a key as well. Today's team looked like the team we had that was 15-5 through the first 19 games. Great movement! Blackmon Jr looked great, and when he plays well, the team seems to gel better. Still haven't really seen Troy play like himself in awhile, hopefully he will come out of his funk for the next game. He did help out A LOT on the boards though. Yogi and JBJ carried us this game. Still had a few guys in funks but we got a great win and I think a few of those guys will come out huge for us tomorrow -

Luckily he still had on his brace on or it would've been really bad -

When he yelled out I think it was more frustration and a little bit of fear rather than the pain. -

No MRI or anything needed for Perea. Hopefully that is a good sign! -
Me too, I don't think he wanted anything to do with playing with Yogi or JBJ though

Seems like most of the recruits that people complained that we "missed on" this year ended up either not turning out that good or being head cases

I loved it at Hoosier Hysteria this year when Sage Steele interviewed her in front of the crowd and mentioned her being a Purdue grad and EVERYONE booed so loud. It was super awkward for her haha -
(2015) C Caleb Swanigan to MSU
bnkepner replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Swanigan was just a classic example of getting to the party too late. The kid developed overnight. He had offers from Purdue and Chicago St early but then all of a sudden he lost some weight and started playing better and got a bunch of national attention. IU came late to the party and I think Swanigan was a little butt hurt that we didn't offer early like Purdue. I think he would've been a great addition but he made it known very early in his recruitment that he was just waiting for an offer from MSU or Kentucky and thats about it. -

I love that everything is "breaking news" nowadays. I swear I saw this same final 7 about 4 months ago -

I think this is what it comes down to. A lot of the time as fans of teams, players, and coaches we generally want to know what all the reasons were, etc but a lot of the times schools are not allowed to go into full detail because of legal reasons -
2015 Big Ten Tournament Game Thread
bnkepner replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Bracey Wright was the scape goat when people took a few seconds off ragging on Davis. BW was a good player but got thrust into a leader role too soon. His freshman year when Coverdale and Jeff Newton were still on the team, he really shined with those two. He lead the team in scoring all three years he was there but I think a lot of pressure got put on him. So much pressure that he left IU early for the NBA even though he wasn't projected as a 1st rounder. Also I remember him shooting and hitting lots of deep 3s and his free throws from deep. -

They didn't have a lot to begin with either. They have been down for years
