2015 Transfers and Early Entries

Especially after he sat out multiple games at the end of the year to protect his stock -
Im just now really learning about this whole new deal where kids are only going to schools that are tied to certain shoe companies. Ridiculous in my opinion
-
I honestly thought Knight was one of the best commentators out there. He knows basketball better than any other commentator out there and usually left the other host in the dust with basketball theory. I would've liked to have seen him and Dakich call a game together
-
I came away super unimpressed with him. His bad shots and bad passes out weighed his good decisions
-
He was offered a job here a few years back and turned it down. He would only leave if he became the head assistant and I don't see that happening here
-
Yeah it was discussed here yesterday
-
I enjoyed watching Bryant but that second half was UGLY! Bryant and Brown from the other team were the only highlights. Ive seen middle school games look cleaner than that game. Im not sold on the other two recruits from Huntington Prep.
-
When I picture Richardson all I can see is him wearing that tshirt with pot leaves on it that he wore on his visit to IU
-
Matur Maker is a 2017 recruit

(2014) SF Josh Cunningham to Bradley
bnkepner replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Not this again... Im not sure what he expected picking Bradley -
Exactly. Bryant is more of a low post banger than Thon. Thon would be the perfect 4 in Crean's system. Then again Thon could be listed at any position 1-5 and he would still play the same way
-
I think getting Bryant will help us get Thon as well
-
Not trying to get my hopes up but if we could somehow come away with Bryant and Maker….WOW

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gChte3yrUwE Thomas Bryant is a force to be dealt with down low. He shows Diamond Stone who's boss more than a few times in those videos. The only thing I didn't like from the videos (and its a trend I hate in basketball all around) is that he uses that off arm to push off A LOT
-
"health reasons". It was actually a huge internal thing that went on but it wouldn't be right to discuss it in an open forum. He had some personal issues that needed to be taken care of

#4 applies more to Troy than to JBJ

They had a writeup on Devin on Inside the Hall today. There were some interesting quotes but it seems that things are still a long way off for Devin. Heres a quote from Crean: "But it’s going to take time. We’re nowhere near the contact. We’re nowhere near where we can get up and down the court. We’re pushing him hard, we’re trying to get him better with his shot, keep building his conditioning, his strength, but we’re still a long ways off before he’s going to be able to play but we’ve been given no indication to believe that we wouldn’t be able to do that. But to put a timeline on it, still, even all of these months later, it’s still impossible to do.”

Myles Turner got some bad advice as well. He struggled at Texas this year but is still being projected high. -

Myles Turner from Texas leaving for the draft -
He had his pick of whatever school he wanted. When he decomitted UK came at him hard as well as Kansas. Michigan St and Michigan were coming at him very hard as well.

Maybe he did have some interest but not enough to take the job when offered to him. IU pushed hard for him but there wasn't enough interest on his side. Their AD was very adamant that he wasn't interested . “People mentioning his name don’t have a bleeping idea. He’s on this list at LSU. Oh really? Is there a list? Can I see it? They say his name with teams that I know wouldn’t even cross his lips.” Xavier's AD Mike Bobinski's Interview with Rick Bozich (3/27/2008) "Just talked to Xavier athletic director Mike Bobinski. Asked him if he was worried that he might lose his basketball coach, Sean Miller, to Indiana after Xavier’s marvelous NCAA Tournament run finally ends. “No,” Bobinski said. Miller and Indiana have been mentioned as a possibile marriage. But Bobinski said it’s not going to happen. Why? “Because he (Miller) told me so,” Bobinski said." -Another Interview with Rick Bozich (3/28/2008) You can take those quote however you want I guess but its pretty clear that there wasn't enough interest from Miller. IU definitely interested in him and wanted him after Tony Bennett turned down the job.

I would be all for Crean if during his coaching tenure here he would show some sort of willingness to adapt and change. When it comes down as stubborn as Knight was, he adapted to the players he had a lot as well. This year we lost 10 out of the last 15 and it wasn't until the Big Ten tournament that he decided to run some man to man and then the next game he went back to his terrible zone. The same thing happened all last year when Vonleh was here. He refused to change his game plan and execution. He just kept trying to do the same thing. I think getting Bryant will definitely help us out, but in the long run we have seen Crean's game plan and everyone knows what he is going to do. This last offseason all he did was preach how we were going to outrun teams, and that barely happened. For parts of games we would do that, then we would let up. I just have no hope for next year because he hasnt showed any initiative to change or adapt even when its obvious that he needs to
