2015 Transfers and Early Entries
bnkepner replied to WayneFleekHoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Doesn't seem like a good move to move. UNC was severely overrated this year. He is probably leaving before the NCAA storm there -
His stats from La Lumiere werent good either so that is telling.

2015 Transfers and Early Entries

If they lose 7 or 8 players will Kentucky realistically be able to replace them with an equally talented squad? I feel like they will revert back to how they did the year Nerlens Noel was there and they missed the tourney -
I didn't say there was no real competition. But comparing the Chinese basketball league to leagues in Europe is not a fair comparison. Its definitely an up and coming league though
-
But on the Thon Maker front, I just don't see why he would pick going to a prep school for a 5th year in comparison to the competition he would see if he went to college for a year. He has seen the prep school competition already. I feel pretty confident that he will go to college, can't say I'm confident about where he will go though. Even though Ive hated this trend of kids going to play for certain sponsored schools, Thon's connection to Adidas helps us out a lot as well.

I don't know how tough of competition he really played in China though. The team he signed with was already one of the top teams in the league there and was already favorites to win the championship there. They had China's best big man on their squad. Plus Mudiay did get hurt while there and the team released him. He missed a good portion of the season over there because of it. He ended up coming back to their team for the playoffs and Im pretty sure his team won the championship there. The thing is that most of these kids that go to play overseas end up playing in lower leagues. None of them have really played top European competition.

He was in Europe from 7 years old till this last year. He played all his previous basketball on European club teams. Tough one

(2015) C Caleb Swanigan to MSU
bnkepner replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I kind of hope they go to Cal because, as good as they are, I think they would fade into obscurity out there. Still really good individual players but i don't see that team having success in the Pac 12 -
Id say a lot of smaller schools and schools out west both do it better. Gonzaga, for example, had Pangos, Sabonis, and Karnowski were all major players on their team and were all foreign players. Gonzaga actually travels to Canada and Europe to recruit. The foreigners that IU has recruited have all been people that played in the US for a few years (minus Exum)

All the articles I have read (as of this morning) still say that he is planning on it but it isn't official yet
-
Good question because he hasnt even officially decided to be a member of the 2015 class as far as I know
-
Now where are all the people who a week or two ago said they weren't "feeling it" that Bryant would commit?
-
Like I said if he actually says something then everyone says he didn't have to say anything. If he doesn't say anything everyone says its a conspiracy because he didn't say anything. Im a conspiracy theorist on everything but I'm still not buying any of this. I don't see Crean being around here much longer but I don't buy into any of these conspiracies on here
-
Yeah everyone has said this over and over and I just don't believe it. Every other school that was going to fire a coach has made it known pretty easily but for some reason Glass and IU are going to wait? Just honestly doesn't make sense at all. I realize that the conspiracy theory will live on but simply put I just don't believe it. You can say it a million different ways that even though Glass has said what he said things could change but if there was going to be a move made..I think the rumors would be more than flying, but everything has died off and Creans name is not being mentioned for one single job anywhere else anymore.

There have been plenty posted on here from Inside the Hall and any other interviews he did at the Mcdonalds stuff this week
-
Geez Im not pretending to know everything. No reason to get all bent out of shape. I know nothing about Stevens but as far as IU is concerned Crean is still the coach and the administration has come out saying he is still going to be here next year

Someone else brought up a good point that while Patterson and someone else from Syracuse have announced their plans to transfer, until they actually do, they still count against the scholarship numbers -

He does every off season -
People are reading into things too much. Crean is back next year and Stevens will be in Boston. Put it in stone
-
Definitely not complaining, just commenting on this new trend. Im just saying there are players that only seek out to play for a certain school because of their ties with a shoe company. They don't even hide the fact. Sure we are an Adidas school and Thon plays with an Adidas school now but he hasnt even mentioned it openly like a lot of other players have.

Did you read the article? ---“I’ll be in Boston,” Stevens told a dozen reporters prior to Wednesday’s game against his hometown team. “Brad’s not considering college,” Ainge said. “Brad is with the Celtics and he’s … it’s just talk. It’s just talk out there. When coaching jobs open up, of course there’s a lot of people that would love to have interest in Brad, but I’m not even sure that there’s been any contact. I think it’s just mostly talk.”
-
I just think its been obvious that Crean is going to be back next year and Stevens is only thinking about the Celtics right now. Fred Glass has made the Crean part pretty obvious and Danny Ainge has made the Stevens part pretty obvious. I think everyone reads into each word included. Or then people say "well he didn't say anything about 10 years down the line" (sarcasm).

He's not leaving Boston for a couple years at least

2015 April Evaluation Period

One of the best AAU teams in the nation and they are right in our backyard. Those kids really like Crean as well -
No I had definitely heard about it, but I just really looked into it and investigated it a little more today. Its really stupid
