Player and Recruit Retention News/Discussion & Potential Transfers
BTOWN replied to Brass Cannon's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Off Topic, but Jeremiah April was back in Bloomington this weekend. So was Jalen Coleman Lands and PJ Thompson. -
Just drove past Cook Hall. Didn't see much but it's not like it would be happening out in the open lol I did see OG though!

I suggest going to sleep. His or HER identity is not worth the time or effort it will take to discover it [emoji6]

It's also important to note that when HickoryHoosier said there was a 99% chance Crean's firing would be announced, he also hinted that we could possibly find out who the replacement would be at the same time. Even though he said it was very unlikely, it took me by surprise and might have been a hint that we already have our guy...

Coach Search 2017 IU Candidate: Billy Donovan (OKC Thunder)
BTOWN replied to Feathery's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
0708 said today that IU already has their guy and BtownInsider was right all along... BtownInsider has been saying Billy Donovan to IU for about a month now. Also, Mile stated last night to not be so quick to put down the Billy Donovan talks. These are two very well sourced posters hearing the same things at the same time. 0708 was saying Crean was gone since yesterday afternoon and that turned out correct. Could he be right again? -
Well, it all comes down to this... Hickory and 0708 vs. Rabjohns 99% sure vs. Guessing based on what people have told him. (Later backtracked) History of breaking coaching stories vs. Recruiting insider who seems to have a poor history of IU coaching predictions Putting credibility on the line vs. Making it known that it is not official and is just opinion What will happen? I'm not sure. But I bet something is happening tomorrow...

Thank you for everything, Tom. But it's time man...

"Play Silly for Billy" Good thing we've been playing that way for 9 years...

Take it FWIW but I was talking today to someone who has a friend on the Butler team. This player said he was "convinced" Holtmann would be our next coach. He said his reasoning for this is because Holtmann seems to only be there until he finds a better job. Now do I think this is inside information to who our next coach could be? No not even close because I doubt a player on another team has any idea... But I do find it interesting that players at Butler don't feel Holtmann is there for the long run. Also it's somewhat comforting to know that most people's 7th or 8th choice would most likely say yes if it came down to that. I also think the man is a pretty good coach and much better than who we have currently. Just don't think we'll get past our 3rd or 4th choice...

A credible source told me that Crean never actually watched the games on the Michigan State bench. He was usually seen either not facing the court or with his eyes closed while continuously mumbling "they need to play faster..."

(2017) SF Kris Wilkes to UCLA
BTOWN replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
It's really only down to IU and UCLA here. Illinois made a heavy push but it's just hard to see Kris seeing a better situation in the neighboring state than he has right here. UCLA is closer than originally thought, though. Even heard that it is close to 50/50 as of right now, which surprised me and not sure if true. I still do not see him moving that far away from home. Still expect it to be IU in the end. -
(2017) PG Tremont Waters to LSU
BTOWN replied to Uspshoosier's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Bryant, Blackmon, OG, De'Ron, Cujo, Green and a couple of others. As well as all 5 of the coaches. -
Guys... Hearing this guy is actually really good. People in Philly were hoping he stayed under the radar so he would end up at one of the local schools but the word got out. Check out his twitter for some better videos. He can really shoot it and I think Jordan Tucker is his cousin.

(2017) SF Kris Wilkes to UCLA
BTOWN replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
I should have worded it differently but this is in no way saying that HH is going to happen. And to clear up the last sentence... This means a decision will be made by the November Signing Period, (to whichever school he chooses). Which I think is down to IU, Xavier and UCLA, in that order. With IU and Xavier having the highest chances at this time. My apologies again. -
(2017) SF Kris Wilkes to UCLA
BTOWN replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
LOL, sorry guys. Didn't mean to sound that mysterious or start anything but just thought I would pass on some stuff that I've heard/know/read. I usually stay pretty quiet but with the site going through problems I thought it would be a good time to start posting a little bit more. -
(2017) SF Kris Wilkes to UCLA
BTOWN replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
It was originally thought that Kris would be a Spring decision until recently when things really picked up and he got serious about his recruitment. I could see both sides aiming for Hoosier Hysteria so that's definitely a possibility. He should be signed in November. -
(2017) SF Kris Wilkes to UCLA
BTOWN replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Basketball Recruiting Forum
Kris will commit somewhere around Hoosier Hysteria this year. UCLA and Xavier are the main competition but staying in the midwest seems to be somewhat of a factor. I do not think he is as high on Xavier as Scruggs is since he can get his playing time, as a 6'8 SF, anywhere. Hoosiers are in the best position and I would almost bet money on his commitment. -
When we were hot this past season they got in. It's all about winning and losing. If we're winning, underage get in easy, if losing, not worth getting fined. Example: 2 years ago.

Gary Harris, Zak Irvin, Spike, Ron Buss Patterson as well as all IU players above 21 Kilroy's Sports visitors last night. Good times.

IU vs McNeest St. Post-Game Thread, aka MSB Highlight Reel
BTOWN replied to HoosierReb01's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
So obvious even my girlfriend noticed. Sat down a little bit into the second half. Did not high five or talk to the team when they came out of the game. Did not join the team huddle during one of the timeouts. Shook hands, ran out, took off his jacket and tossed it before even entering the tunnel.
