IU vs Mississippi Valley State Game Thread
jbhoosier_3 replied to Naturalhoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
After a half of basketball, I must say Hanner looks like a completely different player from last year. He was a beast on the glass. -
Replacing what was lost

I really think Blackmon has the potential to make an immediate impact. -
Favorite IUBB team of all time

Gotta go with the 2002 team that made the national final vs Maryland. I was in Assembly Hall for both the Final Four win vs Oklahoma and the championship. Bloomington was absolutely electric the second we beat Duke! -
Why Purdue Should Leave the B1G...According to a PU Site

LOL, how 'bout Purdue leaves for the MAC and we can replace them with Ball State. -
I hear Boomer Eskiaskon is still uncommitted. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Completely agree. What's also ridiculous about these huge contracts is that all the money is guaranteed too, unlike the NFL. Plus, MLB is much more stringent with PED testing than they were a decade ago so it's not like these guys can juice up when their numbers inevitably go down due to age. I lived in Detroit for a while so I pull for the Tigers. Let's hope Cabrera doesn't turn into Pujols now that he got paid! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Heard this during the First Four game. Coach McCaffery certainly had a long day that day, being there for his son's surgery then having to fly to Dayton for the game. Definitely a great gesture from Coach Crean, Cody & Victor! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

When you consider how bad Villanova & Creighton did in the NCAA Tourney this year, that's definitely a legit concern. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

My question is why the hell would you leave Marquette for Virginia Tech? I know money probably played the biggest role but in the new ACC that seems like a really hard program to succeed at. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

Dayton look like a confident bunch from outside! I was at both games in Buffalo & saw firsthand how good they can shoot the 3, especially vs Syracuse. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

As a Bills fan I'd love to see Cody end up in Buffalo! Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners

For those wondering why Indiana would turn down the CBI...
jbhoosier_3 replied to IU Hoosier41's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
That's why I'm perfectly fine with IU staying home. Would we even want a banner from that tournament hanging in Assembly Hall given that lineup of teams? No thank you! -
Prediction League Game 26 (Week 16) IU vs Iowa (02/27/14)
jbhoosier_3 replied to Naturalhoosier's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Indiana 65 Iowa 61 I'm also predicting a Fran McCaffery technical foul. That guy's a nutjob! -
Definitely not this year. Consider the implications from the standpoint of player transfers. Nowadays, guys leave if they perceive they're not getting the playing time they think they're entitled to, let alone if there's a coaching change. If they fired him this year, we'd essentially be right back to where we were when he took over the team. I'm greatly appreciative of the hard work he did in repairing this program after what Kelvin Sampson had done to it. However, given the trajectory that this season seems to be taking, he has to be on some sort of hot seat going into next year.

How much longer until Crean is on the hot seat?
jbhoosier_3 replied to wsteele's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I still would wait until after next year to evaluate whether or not a change needs to be made. We have a pretty solid recruiting class coming in led by James Blackmon and guys like Troy Williams and Stanford Robinson have shown signs of brilliance and should be even better next year. The challenge for Crean will be to replace Vonleh if he goes pro, which seems almost a certainty since most mock drafts have him as a Top 10 pick. What's so gut wrenching about this season is without the excessive turnovers and the scoring droughts we're most likely a Top 25 team.
