I do NOT want "someone" coaching this team next year. Can't happen if we are ever going to be legit. No timeouts... No run stopper. Stop over thinking the game coach. You are hurting us. And QUIT trying to force the Williams point forward project. That horse is rotting, along with coaches support.

Ahh snap!! I genuinely thought the 16 class was going to flop several months back. We will see how they all translate but having IU in the top ranks is always good exposure for a program that is trying to first be consistently respected... Then a juggernaut again

I think a lot of rankings just run on hype. These guys can't spend massive time with each high schooler. So I think there are guys who just take care of business and don't do anything saucey like posterizing somebody that fly under the radar and end up being "diamonds in the rough". Same reason a top shelf unsigned recruit at the end of the signing periods shoot up major spots. It's all hype. It's exciting. People will flock to articles of a high ranked dude who is unsigned and all the big boys are after him. /side rant

Im just hoping as a romantic fan that Troy is about to seriously turn it on... I mean he has to at some point, right? And him turning it on in about 2 games is exactly what this team could use. The realist in me just thinks he has no business in the NBA and he still hasn't figured out how to just shoot a 10 foot jumper. It's all 3 and all dunk and circus shots for him. Im in the camp that think Troy combined with a 2nd year OG, Bryant and Davis is along with Blackmon providing jumpers is a KILLER squad

Why do we assume Crean (or any coach) promised any player a 4 year ride?

If we flame out somehow in Feb/march I could see Bryant jumping for the cash. If he is emotionally vested in the program with that late season push, he's back! :)

Here is the game from my viewpoint. How Crean didn't absolutely demand the guards to post feed Bryant in the 2nd half is beyond me. That's the straw that stirs our drink.. No wonder we couldn't get an open 3. Crean called for that yogi post wide call about 35 trips. Besides that.. Yea turnovers.. Go Maryland, beat iowa

This is a game we need to take if we want to don the crown. Otherwise we may need Iowa to flop at some point. I could use another conference title in my life!

I'll second the observation that the troy point forward project has decreased. Maybe that's a product of us moving the ball and driving with intention to pass for a good shot instead of everyone standing around and then we just have to give it to troy with 8 secs left for the high ball screen high running away from the hoop hook shot maneuver

Absolutely.. Crean proving all of us wrong and him going on a serious run in the tourney is a VERY good situation for us fans. Im willing to let Crean win me back over. He just has to do the deeds now and I will GLADLY get back on his wagon. I still think we are just seeing what we normally see in Jan and something rough is looming.

Hartman gets mins because he is incredibly smart. His fouls are half because he is bailing out the guards defensive mistakes. You don't give people easy baskets. He's Johnny in the spot. He actually feeds the post and he is just generally hard to account for on the court. He rips a 3 when you dont expect. He takes it to the hoop when you dont expect it. He's the glue and scrap guy that makes the schemes flow better. In a team of some dudes trying to get theirs, he's an important counterweight. Is that your stance on why he shouldn't get many mins? Who cares if he gets 4 fouls a game? You give up fouls to stop easy baskets.

Props to yogi. He is an animal. Could easily be our backup RB, lol

I'm just super pleased with this team now. I know better than to think we are just gonna go whoop people on the road. That will be a rarity for most teams. We took care of business. I like that this team is getting put on the ropes and throwing the last punch during the road games. Seeing grit out there. Im trying to keep my excitement in check but this team is going to challenge Maryland and Iowa. OG is my new favorite player.. Yogi, u are the freaking man and u will not be replaced easily or perhaps at all.

Agreed. My bar is IU finishes in the top 4 of the big ten every year and be taking the conference crown every 2 out of 5 years, or so. We are constantly on the outside looking in in this era of IU bball. Unacceptable. If we somehow take 1st this year, I will change my tune. College ball is way too even now across the landscape to just absolute dominate. We are in a real conference, not the SEC

This is what this team is with Williams and Rojo not in a funk. The defense today was fantastic. Im over the moon with how our defense has changed in the last 3-4 games. Super happy. Now lets be aware that IU bball in January seems to look pretty dang good. I want to get back into full on excitement again. This game definitely help please let this focus and energy spill into Feb!!
