I think some on here are going to need to prep themselves mentally if Donovan isn't the guy. We can still bring IU back to the top of the league CONSISTENTLY with the next tier. I want it to be the "homerun" but let's be aware that someone like Archie or Holtmann (haven't seen him mentioned much lately) could be the "next homerun". Newkirk - Not the thread for it really, but I'm totally digging Newkirk lately. His speed is incredible and as long as he keeps his head on straight, he absolutely is a needed commodity on the team. He was near useless 2 months ago and now he is back to hitting 3s and so strong on the drives. Almost like Yogi bullying his way into the hoop. Definitely improving down the stretch. I think half of this whole scenario wouldn't exist if Crean would have just hit an elite eight. 1 more game in his 9 year span and I would not be swapping him in for an Archie type. It would be Donovan/Stevens or bust. And at the same time, possibly not. Recruiting is just really suspect lately. Without De'ron, this current class is basically a bust. If I play out in my brain the scenario where Donovan 100% comes here after next season, I'm totally down with suffering through one more with Crean.. Donovan is an absolute program changing hire. Quite honestly, it's better than Stevens in my opinion. Stevens should have always been option number two but I can understand his age is desirable to folks. If it's a "have our cake and eat it too" scenario, let's give Buckley the reigns. If that fife thing is true, I'd love it just for a depiction of restoring IU glory. I'm not so sure booing Crean during introductions is classless. There has not been one "ruler" during the course of history that wasn't met with some "Harumphs". That's a totally normal thing to do and what program leaders sign up for. I'd say people should not be sheeps while the program is in a serious lull. What a strange spot to be in as an IU fan. Being a 9pm game, I'm definitely not watching. Creans 9pm record has to be atrocious. I keep saying I'm going to dig up stats on it. I'm about 20% interested in IUBB at this point. If IU does rip off a few wins, it will make the tourney just due to viewership across the nation.
