I feel good about that win. I'm not looking forward to playing Underwood in the future if he also gets longer athletes that play defense with that same intensity. Their big defense is whatever but that rotation of guards does create havoc. Now last night, also some very dumb lazy passes. I'm glad Archie yanked Green. Newkirk was handling the pressure much better down the stretch. And I LOVE that for Durham. That kid needed THAT game. One where u could say he sealed the game for IU in the final minutes. Another big game coming up for IU and the NIT. Hate to say that but I'll root my arse off for these guys in the Not Invited Tourney for respectable scrubs. They could make some serious noise with the current defense. Get a good seed and make a run, giving our freshman and Archie more time together. Another serviceable game for Mcswain. Green - welcome back to the doghouse. Such garbage passes. He was just not focused enough. Newkirk had some head scratches but handled the ball very well coming down the stretch. Apparently it's going to take more time to reel Green in. Best passes of the night came from Morgan and the Mcswain to Durham backcut. Rojo - shaky at the end but I'm not mad at him. There is no doubting that Archie wanted to make a splash this year more than anyone in the country. It has to drive him mad on the sidelines watching the same crap occur over and over again. All we can take away from this season is that the team defense has very much improved and the foundation is now there. FWIW, I've had a number of non iu fans tell me how good the Team looks on the defensive side now. They also say, man it is rough watching them play offense for stretches. The fanbase is just treading water for now and people have to try to keep the enthusiasm going. Because the fanbase truly is what separates us as a program in cbb. Absolute chaos raining down in Assembly Hall. I get it, I'm tired of being in this constant spot. I think it took a lot out of everyone when we had Hulls and co. For 2 great back to back years. Everyone (most people at least) thought we finally turned the corner under Crean and it was ON like DK again. And yet, here we are again, a program that has fallen on its face AGAIN. It has to wear us down at some point. But, that's what's great about IU. It simply takes a few good recruits and we are right back on the map, with a big target on our back. Most of the country just chomping at the bit for us to lose while ranked top 5. That says it all there to me. No matter what the players looked like on paper at the start of the season, we don't have a tate, bates diop, etc, a wessen body, etc on this team. We have Morgan, a walk on who plays until he bleeds and Rojo who disappears A LOT. That's pretty much all. Everyone else doesn't start or even play much on the top 10 big ten teams.
