Devin Davis injured/Emmitt Holt cited for DUI
ziggyiu replied to ccgeneral's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
In reference to HoosierDribbler's post, sure three should be. However, there is no leadership on this team. There wasn't last year. Think about Yogi. One would assume he would be one of those leaders, especially considering he is one of the very few players on this team that's had the benefit of learning from upperclassmen like Hulls, Watford, VO, etc. But even Yogi made a seriously terrible mistake. With near complete roster turnover two consecutive years and signing kids last minute that coaches really don't know there is a serious void of responsibility and accountability. Before anyone takes this the wrong way. I'm not blaming Yogi, Crean or anyone else for this incident. It could totally have been a freak accident between friends. I'm merely citing how sometimes issues like these can arise. -
Definitely wouldn't say "like Vonleh did" considering many people close to the situation, including Vonleh himself, think he was misused and underutilized.

Quick note: Football games as a basketball recruiting tool
ziggyiu posted a topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I've seen more than a few posts about it not being good that a basketball recruit is at an IU football game while the IU football team is playing terribly. Please keep this in mind, no basketball recruit in the history of ever has allowed how a university's football team plays impact his decision. It's the most illogical complaint/thing to worry about. -

"I know its not fair to judge because Gary Harris is a good kid and Adrien Payne is likeable too. Many others too." Payne is likeable unless you know about him and a teammate, Appling I think, who raped a girl. -
(2015) C Stephen Zimmerman to UNLV

It seems foolish to waste time with an in-home visit after the kid had already selected NOT to make IU one of his five official campus visits. I'd rather learn that the staff is pursuing other, more viable, options. -
Perea not with Team due to VISA issues
ziggyiu replied to djsalway's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
Just because some of you are only now learning about this doesn't mean the IU program is. It's quite likely IU knew about the issue, has tried to take take of it over the summer; but issues like one's ability to enter into other countries are out of IT'S control. Sure Crean's a bad coach, but not everything is his fault or the program's fault. Some things are out of our control no matter how we plan ahead.
