  1. If troy plays like that on a regular basis he's gonna make a lot of money playing basketball! Thing I liked most was seeing him play under control. He slowed down and let the plays develop.

While I agree with some of what you say I must ask. Does Vic get cancelled out by Hollowell? I see many people point to Vic and use him as maybe validation for Crean. I personally feel the majority of the credit for that development should go to Victor. The young man has a tremendous work ethic and attitude. Not really wanting to take issue with you I just grow a little frustrated with that connection. TBH, I thought Will and Cody would both be better in their last year than they were. Thought Hollowell had some potential. Just thinking...
  6. In this situation I'd actually like to see April get a little more playing time for two reasons. 1) to see what abilities he has, if any, 2) for him to see whether his abilities can play at this level. If he can play and contribute at this level then great and we've learned something. If he can't play and contribute at this level then maybe HE has learned something and will make a decision going forward based on that knowledge. For those clamoring for more of Hartman I'm not sure how much he can handle at this point. My original understanding was that his knee would probably keep him from playing at all this year. He's been a pleasant surprise but I'm not sure how heavy a workload he can handle right now.
  7. Hot damn! Somebody thinking like me here! Lol
  8. Well...that lineup comes outta nowhere! Lol

    Stan and Troy

The way he's playing the only bank they need is a piggy bank!

    Stan and Troy

If I'm not mistaken I believe he was the main culprit in that little six point run Louisville had in the first half when Yogi went out. The thing that really made me cringe was as they were going to commercial they showed the Indiana bench and it looked as though Stan was a heated disagreement with someone.

    Stan and Troy

I actually thought they were a huge part of why we lost.

First game I've really been able to watch this year (no btn and cable was out when they were on espn)...DAMN!!! Williams and Robinson are killing us! Terrible!

The main reason Crean will get fired.

Don't remember it...but I've read about it. I was only speaking to the teams that I'd actually seen play since I became a fan in about 78. That's when I moved to Indiana as a child.
  14. I'm not sure our coach feels a center is necessary...or even another big man for that matter.

The main reason Crean will get fired.

before Henderson got hurt? Probably the best Indiana team I've ever seen. 75 &76 were before I moved to Indiana and became a fan. 81 team was amazing at the end of the year but...those games against Michigan and the fab five? Henderson whooping it up on the scorers table in Ann Arbor?I felt like I was punched in the stomach when I heard the news about Henderson. They'd gotten so close the previous year and I felt they really got screwed by the refs against Duke. You could tell that Knight really liked that team and that group of kids went through a lot and accomplished so much!I just KNEW they were gonna hang banner six!

The main reason Crean will get fired.

I believe he seems to have a knack for maybe spotting a hidden talent with wings and guards...haven't seem it to much with bigs though. I think creanapologist was right on target with his observation. Zeller was the perfect big for Creans preferred style of play. Mobile, able to put it on the floor a little, didn't really demand a lot of touches in the low post. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't remember his Marquette teams ever having a strong offensive post presence. It seemed like his big guys always got their offense either through being able to play on the perimeter or cleaning up the garbage inside. Never watched them to much...his sideline demeanor annoyed the hell out of me!

    Calm down

Damn!!! You a party-pooper dude! Lol I do agree some with both sides of the discussion on this post though. Pitt ain't great but they ain't terrible and it sounds like we did make some improvements. (Won't be able to watch it until I get home...but it sounds as if they played better)

Cable is out where I'm at so I couldn't watch but sounds like Holt knocked dead! Anyone tell me whether Holt and Perea played at the same time much? Against bigger teams I think that's an option they'll need.

    I'M TIRED OF IU SUCKING!!!!!

Maybe THAT'S the reason the beam fell...don't mess with the holy program! Hehe

    I'M TIRED OF IU SUCKING!!!!!

I'm not patient enough to read all those chapters before posting but in large part I agree with your last paragraph! Lol I think he's earned this year but he must produce. I'm not a big fan of his coaching but I don't think he's done a lot of good things for the program. When it all boils down you gotta win and I hope for his and the tasks sale they get it figured out. I'll root for them one way or another but if they're losing I'll be doing a lot of b=+ching. Lol won't do any good but...
  21. It seems you get what you'll accept. Don't know whether it's a good thing or not but ya gotta give fans of programs like UNC and UK. they don't accept sucking for very long.
  22. My sentiments exactly. If I wanted to root for a mediocre team is have been a Purdue fan! Lol
  23. What I fear most of all is that we will win 17/18 games and the powers that be will call that progress. I fear we will settle for mediocre or slightly better. The thought of that makes me queasy...win or bust!

[quote name="sddowning" post="110962" timestamp="1417440250"]When you say "6'4" and athletic" are you talking about Oladipo? No one else come to mind. The offense ran pretty well with Zeller Cwat and Hulls. No of which meet you criteria of Creans typical player. Now I will say at times last year the offense became let Yogi and all Yogi. He was very ball dominate. Don't get me wrong I love Yogi and that wasn't his fault but Crean should have figured out ways to get Vonleh the ball more often. Find shots for other plays instead of Yogi trying to break someone down. On a side note if Hollowell was recruited and ranked off of potential he showed in AAU then how come Crean couldn't help develop him. He had no problem bringing Vic along. Can't imagine Hollowell was as driven as Victor but he showed no improvement from year 1 to 2. Only difference was minutes played[/quote I tend to believe Victor's improvement was more a result of his work ethic than Creans coaching.
  25. When you look at their roster/personnel do you realistically think they can/will turn it around? Not sure I see that possibility. Sad thing is that I'm not so sure I see a possibility of it happening next year. Hope I'm wrong.
