I believe their options are limited. Because of his contract I'm not sure there's a very big market for him. I'd love to see them swing a deal for Kluber.

Context on the first 2 seasons of a few top cbb coaches
jonz44 replied to ViaSwiss's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
I think by year 3 he'll have 2 recruiting classes on the court and another recruiting class on deck. Also, the holdover players will have 1) graduated, 2) decided there are greener pastures elsewhere and moved on or 3) if still at IU they will be completely bought in. By the END of year 3 I think there will be a pretty clear picture of the trajectory of the program. -
IUBB @ Northwestern - Game Thread - 01.22.19 - 9:00 ET

I've noticed that Romeo has a wrap of some sort on his right hand/wrist. I've wondered if that is affecting his shooting. I'd read that he injured it his senior year of high school. I'd really like to see him come back for next year. I've also noticed he's had dunk attempts blocked at the rim multiple times this year. Happened in the Duke game Purdue game, and a couple other times. He's definitely skilled but he struggles against against full grown, man- sized, elite athletes... like many do. -
I've generally been a fan of Green but that underhand windup softball pass he's been throwing the last few games has caused me multiple blown blood vessels lol. Hope the young man gets things right and comes back strong.

Indiana Hires Kalen DeBoer as new offensive coordinator

If they're getting the ball because you just scored? Ain't that the idea? Isn't it the defenses responsibility to improve? -
Indiana vs Nebraska 1/14/19 6:30pm FS1

I'd rather we lose with Moore and Forrester than with Fitzner and McRoberts. Make me think we're developing a plan for the future at least! -

I like McRob but his unwillingness to even look at taking a shot is hard to overcome on this team. -
Unemployment has a way of changing one's perspective lol.

Excellent post! I coached youth sports as my son was growing up. Baseball for about 8 years and basketball about 3-4. I have to admit that at times I was hard on refs/umps the first couple of years but the longer I was involved the more understanding I became. 1) it's just a difficult job any way you cut it. Split second judgment calls required constantly and somebody is ALWAYS going to be unhappy, 2) parents can be ahole's and many of them teach their kids it's ok to be that way, 3) most of them sincerely love the game and are just trying to give back to something that has brought them much happiness. I've had more than one come up to me days or weeks later and say coach, I blew that call in such and such situation. I've thought about officiating myself and I'm not sure I could handle it.

53 here and pretty much the exact same sentiments. No ill will towards DD or Alford but life goes on. I wanted Donovan or Stevens but neither one of them were coming. Very happy with the coach we have and the things he's doing. I think the program is headed in a good direction.

Thank God for backlash!

Out of curiosity. Why the "Cody is not Romeo" statement? All I know is what I've read of both. -
If we were to leave Adidas. Who is your pick?

Middle aged white guys buy a lot of shoes for kids though. -
Thoughts on Crean after one and one-third years of Archie?
jonz44 replied to southernindianahoosier2's topic in Indiana Men's Basketball
There are multiple areas that go into coaching. Recruiting, talent development, game planning, in game adjustments, etc etc. While I wonder at times, as all fans do, about Archie's decisions at times. I can't say that I believe there is one area that Crean was superior in. Crean had gone as high as he was going to go, imo. Good luck to him at Ga. I'm glad we have the coach we do. -
We have to put that on a cue card!

(2019) SF Trendon Watford to LSU

Whatever he does I'd wish him the best but I'd sure hate to see him leave. Love what you see of his attitude. I think his size really helps on the interior defensively. Just gives the opposition less room to maneuver. I know he struggles a little out on the floor defensively. His ability to both score and pass out of the post has invaluable also. -
Go back and look at the post on this topic for the first 30 minutes of the game lol.

I noticed that early on they were kicking their legs out and falling on a lot of their 3 point attempts. I think that, and the crappy call last week where the kid jumped sideways into Romeo need to be addressed by the refs.
-
He certainly finished with a flourish lol. I still felt that for the totality of the game that Green was better. Devonte hit a pretty big one himself a few minutes earlier. I was glad to see that Archie went with them both at the end. If those two can coexist on the court it brings a little something special.

When he leaves? Lol
-
I was down on him earlier but man that kid has guts!
-
My Gawd!!! Does that kid miss at the freaking end???
