Artistically making signs 101?
-
Iowa had a tendency in that press of the player guarding the inbounder as they were jumping up and down they would just keep slowly crossing the out of bounds line. Thinking Lewie had enough lol.
-
If his health permits him to coach I would support him. I live in Ohio and remember reading quite a few stories about his health issues and the toll they took on him. He did an excellent job at both Xavier and Ohio State.
-
His health would be his biggest question mark. Otherwise, he produced great results at several stops and lord knows he recruited Indiana strong!
-
Actually, I believe Beard has said that. Since he's been so prominently this week I've watched and read a few interviews with him. I believe I heard him say that he and Pat are close friends.
-
If John could perform the next 5-6 years like he did the last 5-6 years st Michigan? I'm good with Patrick... don't mean we have to give Patrick the job when John leaves. I did qualify what I said.

Since Indiana has sucked so badly at basketball the last 5 years or so I've not watched as much as I used to so I'm not real familiar with Beard's style of play. I know many say his offensive style is boring. Idk.i do know that I've watched several interviews via YouTube. The guy seems to have the personality to lead and succeed. His results have been impressive at TT.

Candidate Thread: Brad Stevens (Boston Celtics)

As I lay on my bed reading this, wearing my shorts, I look down at my black socks...s**t!!! He's talking about me!!! And I'm only in my fifties! -
To me it wouldn't even have to be an "Indiana guy". Just a middle aged or younger guy that has a relatable personality, seems to have a good basketball acumen, and can recruit. That's someone with a future. I'm in my mid fifties. I'll be flexible on the definition of "middle aged" lol.

My definition of you losing credibility with them would be if you told them YOU were going to do something then didn't follow through. I was hopeful that Stevens would come coach IU but in reality it's just a game. It's not your life. It's not your character. Just tell them "I was wrong". Life goes on. There are multiple coaches, with multiple approaches, that can succeed at Indiana. The last 20 years have shown us that not everyone can do the job... but someone can. It is the job of Scott Dolson to find that person. He seems focused and reasonably competent. Give him time. In the meantime? Enjoy life. Those who know you best and love you will still continue to do so. They'll understand that circumstances outside of your control changed but you are passionate about the game and program. I'm sure they have things they are passionate about. They'll understand. If they don't? You don't need them. -
I think there's absolutely no chance that he'd leave Nova and come to IU but if he would he'd be my first choice. Ahead of Stevens. Ahead of everyone. I love watching his teams play. I think he understands the necessity of intelligence and skill instead of focusing on just athleticism. I remember reading "Season on the brink" and how a good shooter(Alford) could cover a lot of deficiencies in an offense. I think Wright grasps the importance of parts that work together to make the whole better than the sum of the parts. Plus, the dude is stylish as hell! Lol

They sell rat poison at Lowe's -
I don't like him as the head coach right now. Assistant to Beilein with an eye to the future might work.

I agree with you that Dane probably isn't ready for this level. How would you feel about Beilein with Dane as associate coach? Beilein's biggest flaw as a coach seemed to be defensively and that was kinda Dane's calling card as a player. I've heard and seen multiple interviews with Dane and I do think he could grow into the job. His record at IPFW didn't overwhelm you but considering they were transitioning into D1 I thought he had a lot of challenges there. From what I've read he's a pretty good recruiter which is another area where Beilein might face challenges. -

Results matter and Beard has gotten them. Gotta give credit where credit is due. I've seen/heard him interviewed a few times. I must say that I believe his personality would be much more suited to the position than Archie's was... but that's not saying much. I think I have rocks in my backyard with more personality than Archie. -

That's a strong @$$ offer! -
Can we turn on the heat lamp? Multiple heat lamps?
-
It does. That press conference from Dolson the other day made me feel a lot more confident about the future than the one Glass held 4 years ago. Just found myself thinking...this guy has a goal and a plan for how to get there!
-
Well, even if we don't go after Drew maybe there's a role in this process for him. He's rumored to have experience in the deportation department.
-
That is seriously cold blooded... but pretty damn funny as well!
-
Gray and Castillo have the potential to be lethal at the top of that rotation.
-
Joey finished very strong in the power department to somewhat skew that stat. It'll be interesting to see how that plays out over a full season and the tail end of his career. Eric Davis is my all- time favorite Reds player but Joey is probably in my top 3 (JB is probably 2nd). I'm definitely rooting for him.
-
I never had a problem with that. Now it's just the inability to punish pitchers on pitches inside the strike zone. He's always been one of my favourites but ya know the decline is inevitable.
-
I don't think he's ever going to be pre-2018 Joey again but anything in the neighborhood of 2018 would be awesome. Father Time eventually wins all athletic competitions.
