    Ooooook who’s your # 2?

I don't like him as the head coach right now. Assistant to Beilein with an eye to the future might work.
  4. I agree with you that Dane probably isn't ready for this level. How would you feel about Beilein with Dane as associate coach? Beilein's biggest flaw as a coach seemed to be defensively and that was kinda Dane's calling card as a player. I've heard and seen multiple interviews with Dane and I do think he could grow into the job. His record at IPFW didn't overwhelm you but considering they were transitioning into D1 I thought he had a lot of challenges there. From what I've read he's a pretty good recruiter which is another area where Beilein might face challenges.
  5. Results matter and Beard has gotten them. Gotta give credit where credit is due. I've seen/heard him interviewed a few times. I must say that I believe his personality would be much more suited to the position than Archie's was... but that's not saying much. I think I have rocks in my backyard with more personality than Archie.

Can we turn on the heat lamp? Multiple heat lamps?

    General Coach Candidate News

It does. That press conference from Dolson the other day made me feel a lot more confident about the future than the one Glass held 4 years ago. Just found myself thinking...this guy has a goal and a plan for how to get there!

    Archie. Miller. Fired.

Well, even if we don't go after Drew maybe there's a role in this process for him. He's rumored to have experience in the deportation department.

    Archie. Miller. Fired.

That is seriously cold blooded... but pretty damn funny as well!

    2021 Cincinnat Reds

Gray and Castillo have the potential to be lethal at the top of that rotation.

    2021 Cincinnat Reds

Joey finished very strong in the power department to somewhat skew that stat. It'll be interesting to see how that plays out over a full season and the tail end of his career. Eric Davis is my all- time favorite Reds player but Joey is probably in my top 3 (JB is probably 2nd). I'm definitely rooting for him.

    2021 Cincinnat Reds

I never had a problem with that. Now it's just the inability to punish pitchers on pitches inside the strike zone. He's always been one of my favourites but ya know the decline is inevitable.

    2021 Cincinnat Reds

I don't think he's ever going to be pre-2018 Joey again but anything in the neighborhood of 2018 would be awesome. Father Time eventually wins all athletic competitions.

    2021 Cincinnat Reds

They have a lot of if's but I believe they have the potential to be decent. I'm hoping. Wish they could do well for Votto's sake.

What Can IUBB do to Revive Your Excitement/Confidence?

I had read on here from some that he wasn't allowed to remove players because the program was in a difficult situation academically. Hadn't heard anything about how he was allowed to talk to the team being constrained. Thanks.

What Can IUBB do to Revive Your Excitement/Confidence?

Out of curiosity. What exactly is the administration doing to handicap Archie? Not saying it's not true. I no longer live in the state and I'm not around people who would.

When Knight Took On The World

Wow! What memories! My family moved to Terre Haute Indiana in 77 from Cincinnati Ohio. My older brothers had taught me how to play basketball but baseball was my passion. Larry Bird piqued my interest in basketball then IU made me love it. 81 with Isaiah, Wittman, Tolbert, Turner, and that group winning the NC solidified it. I was hooked. Graduated HS in 83. Same year as Alford. He and Simmons were my faves their freshman year. I remember reading the Indianapolis Star and Terre Haute Tribune to get any details of this trip that I could. Loved reading this article. Thanks for putting it on here!

    Justin Smith Declares

If he didn't like that role at IU why would he like it elsewhere? I think he wants to find a program where he can play with the ball in his hands more so as to showcase what he feels are the attributes necessary to play at the next level.

    Negativity Thread

It's been stated by several people that transfers out were strongly discouraged. While I believe commitments should be honored and players should not be pushed out solely based on their inability to perform at a certain level, if the problem is one of attitude then after while that player should be encouraged to find another program whose culture more closely aligns with their approach.
